Yeah, I've got a couple of those. They're my absolute favorite. And they're not that bad price-wise either. Pretty much the only sling that I'll buy at this point. But I'm also one of those "once you find something you like" kinda guys.

Hey Jeb. I'd contact Armalite directly about the rough feeling trigger. They may be able to take care of that for you. The 2 stage trigger in my SASS (factory....haven't changed it out yet) is "buttery smooth". No grit, roughness or slop. As far as outfitting the thing with a red dot......I'm guessing that you have Popeye arms. <laughs> The SASS (mine at least) tends to add up in weight once you start fitting it out with accessories. Break in. Well, everybody has their own opinion when it comes to break in. Armalite suggests the shoot, wet patch and brush method for the first 40 to 50 rounds. But, as I said, everybody has their own thing. Either way, you won't be disappointed. The AR-10 SASS is an outstanding weapon. And just to give you some ideas............................................................

Sounds like you're modifying an A2 receiver for this. So I'm guessing that you're not going to have the charging handle "inside" the carry handle. I've been on the hunt for one of the original 10B patterns for quite some time myself. You've got you're work cut out for you my man. Hope you keep us informed of your progress. I'll keep my eye out for a carrier and a 20" barrel, and post up if I come across anything. The serrated one will work fine for you my man. They started making all of them serrated a couple of years ago. And yes, beating the bushes might be the only way to track one down.

I saw this today at my local friendly gun pusher. And for the about the same price as the MRAD that I'm juggling the numbers for. It's a Steyr HS 50. Looks waaaayy too cool in person. I was glad that it already had somebody else's name on it. But, my guy let me finger it anyway................. At 7, that's a good deal. 1000 rounds isn't anything for a barrel. Just breaking in.......in my opinion. I'd go for it.
