So I picked up the new scope today. I've gotta say, I'm impressed. The Steiner glass seems every bit as clear and razor sharp as the Nightforce. Now granted, they're both in the same price range, so one would hope that they would be comparable in quality, fit and finish. Of course, we won't really know until it starts getting some operational time put under it's belt. Alas....that probably won't happen until the fall shoot more than likely. I mean, I intend to take the rifle out and perform a full function test on it. But that's about where it'll stop. The gun club that I belong to only has a 100 yard range. So the most I'll be able to do is zero the damn thing for that. She won't be able to stretch her legs until I get her out into the SDTF in the fall. So, for now, a couple of parting shots of her wearing the new optic. Then, she's gonna get boxed up and sent to the DEWS for her paint job. That's to be done totally at his leisure. No hurry. Obviously since beggars can't be choosy. Hell, for that matter, if he ends up just keeping it until the fall shoot, that'll be fine too. I'll just have to adjust my shipping container that I use for weapons transport on airlines to expect a +1 on the return trip. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Enough with the jabber jawing. I know. Here come's a final couple of pics. Then we'll close this thread out for a while. Here she is on the bench. Just finished fitting the optic onto her. Here's the other profile. Midway USA is a pretty badass company. I ordered a set of Yankee Hill BUIS today after returning from my local gun pusher (he doesn't carry YHM stuff). That was earlier this afternoon, and I just got the notification email that they've shipped the sights out already. And that was after the site said that it wouldn't be until the 12th that they would be shipping. Midway never ceases to impress me.

One can only imagine how many bodies can be stacked inside that. Deer bodies of course, in case any of our acronym agencies that AREN'T supposed to be watching the American people are watching us after all.

So back on topic now, after a couple weeks of inactivity. Hey....$hit just gets in the way now and again. So I went stumbling through the door of my local gun pusher. My goal today, was to just see what kind of stuff he has as well as take care of some long overdue bull-$hitting with him. I haven't seen him since I bought the Trijicon for the MK12 build a while back. I kept telling myself that I was going to stick with Nightforce. The one that I run on the MRAD used to be parked on my other 10 SASS before it lost the battle to the Barrett. So I've been of the mindset to replace it with another NXS. After all, you can't go wrong with Nightforce any day of the week. So, we're taking care of the aforementioned bull-$hitting as I casually gaze into his cabinet that holds most of his optics. I'm thinking, YES.....SCORE for me.....he doesn't have anything with a 50 mil objective lens in stock. So he won't be able to talk me into wavering from my position. OR........so I thought. The ruthless bastard STILL had a dastardly plan up his sleeve. So he starts talking about some Steiner glass, and how that he approves of them also. Well of course he would (said VERY sarcastically)........the bank account draining Sum-Bitch. I mean why wouldn't he? He's standing there thinking that he's about to set the hook in this tired old catch that he's bam-boozled time after time. The vocal sparring continued for almost 15 minutes. He would jab.....and I would parry. He would deliver to me what he must have thought was a crushing blow.....only to have me dodge and weave.....and roll out from underneath unscathed once more. The battle expanded........as some of his minions decided to attempt to toss in some side-winders, in a hapless effort to assist their overlord. All incoming shots were stealthily deflected or side-stepped by our hero. The battle was raging as the storm clouds howled. Neither side was budging as salvo after salvo was launched in both directions. The damage and carnage to the surrounding lands were beginning to pile up. The body count around us rose to unspeakable levels. For a moment, I could feel freedom as I caught a glimpse of the door that led to the outside. It was just a sheer 20 feet away. If only I could slay my way through the horror, and safely arrive on the other side. But then...........................after an all too brief moment of silence between the combatants. As I stood there naively triumphant (yeah right), staring at the gateway to freedom. Tasting my own sweat and blood, mixed with the dirt and debris from the many explosions that had gone on all around us. I was almost free. BOOOOOOOOOOM! He dropped the last MOAB on me that he had. He swung his screen around, and showed me a picture of this "lost ark" that I was pursuing. A silence fell over the battlefied. This man.......has no compassion for his fellow man. This man.....has no empathy towards others. This man.......has no level that he will not go too. He should be brought up on charges against humanity at the next Nuremberg trials. There should be a military tribunal. We should flatten his tires at the least. I mean.....there's no line that this man won't cross. So now, and don't hate me Matt for deviating from the Nightforce club, I'll be taking possession of a Steiner optic next week........................................................
