The 10 is designed to run with just the 1 gas ring. They're fairly inexpensive (around 6 bucks from Armalite), and they've got over 230 of them in stock. Why try to run something that wasn't designed for the part? Just my opinion though.

Short version is too small of gas ports, short gas tubes and undersized recoil parts.

A high quality problem (and just to make you laugh at me)

That's exactly the paint job I was thinking of man. I'm gonna bang out the SBR once I FINALLY get all the parts together by this weekend. THEN, I'm starting that 2nd SASS. And I know that I'll have all the parts for that. -

So, a quick funny story. I went to finally put together the last SBR stripped lower that I have. I talked about it a couple weeks ago while waiting for a QD sling adapter and a stock. I had bought a Trijicon MRO for the aforementioned SBR and had hit a wall with not having the sling adapter, or the stock that I thought I had. Well I got the adapter/stock in the mail friday afternoon. So I figure (in my stupid little lizard brain) that Saturday this bitch is gettin put together. Well.....que the tuba. I went to gather all of the parts that were to be needed: Stripped lower....check. LPK (Armalite of course).....check. Hogue Grip....check. Stock....check. End plate/sling adapter....check. Larue trigger (how the fuk did I end up with 6 Geissele's also).....check Castle nut (yeah...go ahead and laugh now fukers...I sure as hell did)....check I got all the way to the receiver extension/buffer/buffer spring. And that's where I hit a brick wall. Couldn't find those fukers anywhere. I double check my 'in-stock' parts list (which obviously isn't worth a fuk at this point), and see that it says that I still have one in stock. Well......30 minutes later, and $hit being pulled out of every corner of the universe, I come up with no joy. FUK ME! So at this point. I'm pissed off at the world (meaning myself) for not having the physical parts match my 'list'. After shouting at the clouds for a couple minutes, I decide that the time has come. I'm gonna go all in, and I'm gonna make up one final (to order) parts list. My lazy ass has been sitting on a number of other builds that have just been gathering dust in the gun box. So not counting handguards/barrels/stocks (cause I haven't made the final decisions on them yet), I ordered a whole bunch of small parts $hit that should drive me forward in my task of completing the last few builds that I have receiver sets for. Between (my beloved) Armalite, Primary Arms and DSG Arms, I've probably got about between 800 and a thousand bucks worth of parts coming my way. You just can't make this $hit up ya know. Oh....and about 15 minutes after I placed the last order......I found the buffer tube and spring that I was originally looking for. They were hiding underneath a couple of Raptor charging handles in one of the parts boxes. Silly me (meaning dumbass) just thought that it was a bigger pile of handles. So. The short list of builds that are going together over the next couple of months. - An Armalite AR-10 SASS. Yes, yes....you might say, hey dumbass...you already have one. That would be true. But this one is gonna be FDE/desert tan. I've got all of the parts except the receiver extension and buffer for this one. Then I'm gonna send it out to Tom for a Bad Ass tiger stripe paint job. - A black rain ordnance fallout 10 set. I've had this billet set for years and just wasn't sure which direction that I wanted to go with it. So I'm gonna turn this into an MK 11. I'm gonna use a BA 18" 1-10 barrel that I'll order tomorrow. So I'll just have to track down a decent handguard. I really don't wanna shell out a bazillion dollars for a Knights rail. But if I end up doing it to finish the fuker, so be it. - I've got a Seekins Precision AR-15 lower that I'm gonna turn into an MK 12 Mod 1 (since I already built the Mod 0). Should just need a barrel and handguard. That'll leave me with a final AR-10 stripped lower, and another Seekins AR-15 stripped lower. I'll approach those two once I get the other 3 out of the way. I've said it before, but it ain't easy being me.

And.......the nickname has officially been applied.

Similar here. Between being around screaming commercial chillers and other refrigeration equipment for over 35 years, and then mixing in guns. The strong ringing in my ears never goes away.

That's why they're called "protocols" when working around these amazing feats of human engineering. One slip, can be your last. The machine has no conscience. It doesn't know that it just killed you. It just is.

Like Indiana Jones said. It's not the years....it's the mileage.

Laughing to myself. I kinda figured the same thing.

FUK! I got a notice to serve fukin jury duty. Fuk me! And it's not for the county. It's not even for the state. It's for the FUKIN FEDS. Fukin US district court for Maryland. FUK ME TWICE! Maybe I should plan on wearing a Trump shirt or something. AND....to make it even better. They're not just gonna fuk up a couple days of a week. They're gonna FUK up EVERY Monday starting from the 28 February, to 28 March. They obviously don't know how "annoyed" at the federal government that I am. They must be thinking that I'm a regular Maryland democrat member of the sheeple. FUK these people. I don't believe a single fuking thing that ANY government agency says at this point. And I'm sure that they'll be happy to hear that from me. More to follow as this bull$hit progresses.

Awwww.....we were just funnin. Besides....I knew that he was gonna buy it anyway. And I wouldn't do anything to get on the wrong side of that big ol bastard. I mean....standing side by side.....I look him squarely in the sternum. The big fukin mutant. Him and Larry must exchange notes on intimidating "normal sized" people.

Damn! Well played. Sounds like our 8 foot tall trooper is gettin a new trigger to play with.

No $hit. I started laughing the moment I saw the reference. Now, back on topic. I pretty much use the Raptor charging handles ever since I first found them years ago. But I also see the whole charging handle thing as a personal preference. Sorta like the Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth argument.

I've always got a follow up.......and don't call me Shirley.

A true hero. Great find Rene.

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2
Rsquared replied to imschur's topic in General Discussion
So I got that Trijicon MRO optic in the mail a couple weeks back. So I figured, great, time to slap that last SBR lower together out of the gun box, and set the MRO on top of that little bastard. Well? Fuk me. All the parts that I've got laying around here and...........................NO FUKIN STOCK. I could have swore that I had at least an old magpul CTR somewhere. But nope, must have used it somewhere along the way. I mean......not even a plain Jane factory style collapsing stock or nothing. Hell....I'm not even sure what rifle I would have built that I would've put that on. That would explain the aforementioned FUK ME statement. Sooo. I call up my local gunpusher. I mean what could possibly go wrong with that right? Luckily, for me being a Hogue grip kinda guy, he didn't have any. Or the stock I was looking for luckily. Who knows what I would've ended up buying if I had actually gone over there. Though, in his defense, he still tried to talk me into coming on over. So to wrap this up even before it became a "So I went stumbling through the door of my local gun pusher" story (they never end well for my wallet). I've got a magpul ACS stock and a Hogue grip (both in FDE) coming from Midway to finally finish this little bastard. Whoa.......long winded on this one. Very loquacious.
