Good luck and Godspeed. Not sure giving Broncos tickets to a heart patient is a good idea, but the sentiment sure is right.

Better comeback by the Jets! Saints' have a 4 game lead in the division.

Saints beat Bears. That is a double-great Sunday.

Lou Gehrig? Tom Brady? Congrats. Now you can buy more AR308 stuff, right?

Shadow Ops has 308 US NiB BCGs for $236

/\ /\ /\ Patience. I'm getting there, not as fast as I'd like, but it's moving along glacially. -
I looked at it. Not a bad option, but I had my heart set on an adjustable gas block, preferably a Syrac, and I can't find an adjustable one with 0.936" ID.

Thought I'd try here. Barrels are becoming very scarce. I'm looking for a DPMS-style AR308 barrel, 18", mid or rifle length gas system. Ideally I wanted a Rainer 18" match barrel, but they're out and said they don't know when they'll get them back in stock. PM me.

Troy at MI? That's funny! :)) -
Straight compensator saves a trace of weight, and frankly, I don't care about the flash ::)

Midwest Ind SS Keymod Series
mineralman55 replied to Robocop1051's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
I first spotted the MI SS series a while back, and have been pestering them about when it will be available for our AR308s. They've been good natured about it, saying be patient, sometime after September. They're waiting on packaging. Hey, can someone here use their influence and work a great deal with MI? -
Made a decision. Got my new Griffin Armament 7.62 compensator today. It's pretty. Taken with my cell phone, so the pics don't really do it justice. The parts collection is almost finished. Now I need a barrel, and of course, everyone is sold out... >:D

Went to two LGS this weekend (well, sorta local, 70 miles away). Found a bonanza of pistol powders at the first (the whole AA line, lots of IMR, some Ramshot and Alliant), not unreasonable prices. No rifle powders though. At the second, I asked if they had any Pmags for the DPMS 308. Score. Reasonable price too, $26. Good weekend.

Went to school outside of Philly and lived in PA for a long time. Philly fans would boo a cancer cure.

Absolutely! Too bad the weather down here isn't conducive to regular viewing. BTW, there's Comet Ison coming naked-eye visible in October.

Shadow Ops has 308 US NiB BCGs for $236

I was doing some research on 308 BCGs and ended up on Barfcom. There was a thread there (complete with excessive whining) about a bunch of their new 308 bolts having bad machining. The bearing surfaces were rough, machine marks were prevelant, pitting, etc. Anyway, I took out my Shadow Ops just to see if there was anything to complain about. Boy, is it smooth. Not just to look at but to touch as well. We really got a great supplier here. -
My 308 always shows high pressure signs.

If you are still getting cratering and other anomolous primer effects when you back down the load, and you've checked the headspace AND the brass seems to be intact along with all the other checks you've made, then you've probably narrowed it down properly to the primers. Too bad you cannot find some commercial match ammo or some military ball. Great shooting BTW. -

You're loading way too high. Don't use Hodgdon's numbers. They are extremely high loadings for gas rifles. Use Sierra's numbers, they seem to be far more in line with reality. Sierra says the MAX for a gas rifle is one loading below their MAX listed for a powder/bullet combination. For instance, for the 155 HPBT Palma MatchKing, Varget MAX loading is 43.8 grains, therefore you should max out your loading at the one lower, 43.1 grains Varget (2700 fps). For the 175 BTHP, Varget MAX is 41.7 grains, therefore you shouldn't exceed the listing of one lower at 39.9 grains Varget (2400 fps). -
How does it do with recoil reduction?

I would call this industry news!

It's a shame because there aren't going to be any winners in this except the lawyers. One problem is that there are a lot of let's call them "strong personalities" in the M14 community, especially over on that forum, and if you disagree with any of them then you'd better put on your body armor. For right or wrong, someone took great exception to what was written and it's come down to this. Let it play out. -
+1 on "RED". Not a great movie, just plain entertaining, especially semi-nut job Malkovich's character.

Oh please... You really think those candy asses on either side of the isle are capable of any serious Constitutional action?

Mech Armor Defense "TacOps-1" Group Buy

Unfortunately, I screwed up  . This was supposed to be in the Shadow Ops thread for the NiB bolt (it's beautiful). But the pic of the Tac Ops charging handle will have to suffice for now. What's next? The end of the month :)) . I've got an 18" barrel picked out with an adjustable gas block. Handguards are problematic, as no one seems to have one that I like in stock. -
