  1. like what?
  2. I was looking at the various BCGs for the 308ARs and wondered, is there anything definitive that can be said regarding the accuracy of the different brands? I've got a Shadow Ops NiB, a Hardened Arms and an Aeroprecision USA BCG and honestly, the biggest difference in accuracy seems to be more due to my marksmanship or the load I'm using. Can anyone say definitively that XYZ BCG far and above provides the best accuracy?
  3. Not looking right now. I've got a Maten
  4. "The CMP customer will be required to complete a form 4473 in person and successfully complete another NICS check by the recipient FFL holder before the pistol can be transferred." Ooow, that's going to put a damper on people.
  5. /\ Brilliant!
  6. Just make sure the upper and lower are from the same manufacturer. That will save you many headaches down the road. That being said, Aero M5E are very nice, Mega are better, Falkor better still.
  7. Welcome from the LA swamps. Prepare to empty your wallet.
  8. I rarely use optics. 99.9% of the time, I use iron sights. That's just me.
  9. Hey, this past Tuesday, November 27 was what's become known world-wide as the "Day of Giving". Facebook helped sponsor it by matching any funds that were donated to a non-profit thru their pages. They even waived their usual processing fees (they can afford to.) Kelly Kicking Cancer raised a little over $3,000, so when the check comes in it should be close to $6,000! More ammunition to kill brain cancer! Check it out. https://goo.gl/HT2ymL
  10. Hell, the coon-asses I know will eat it and ask for seconds!
  11. Actually, no. The country needs a major dose of chlorine into the gene pool, beginning with Congress and everything inside the DC beltway. There are just too many stupid people walking around making decisions that negatively affect all of us.
  12. Looking at this thread, I see I forgot to summarize the August gala. We had a good turnout despite competing with Friday night football, school startup fundraisers and the like. The Saints Black & Gold SuperFans were a real hit and got the crowd whipped up. Our 2017 Girl Scout Gold Award Scholarship recipient was able to attend and we announced her. Her GS project was to rebuild and rehab a shuttered old-folks' home in her hometown. With young people such as her, we stand a fighting chance to keep the national ship upright and sailing! You can see the pics here. http://www.kellykickingcancer.org/ We did manage to bring in enough to make another $25k donation to the Peak Center for brain cancer research. It was a LOT of work as these things always are.
  13. Hey guys, today is "Giving Tuesday", celebrated as a day of giving around the world. Since our inception in March 2015, we have donated over $107,000 to advanced brain cancer research. Any donation amount helps. If you donate thru my Facebook page, Facebook will match it dollar for dollar, and today FB will wave their 5.75% processing fee. Double bonus! Help us out. Donate and send this to five friends. It can snowball. Then take a look at our webpage and see the advanced brain cancer research we are supporting. https://www.facebook.com/larry.omahoney http://www.kellykickingcancer.org/
  14. Once, many years ago, now it holds a place of honor in my safe. The story of how I got it is cool, but that's a tale if I get to an Arizona ar308 weekend... with a lot of good whiskey.
  15. If the price is right, then yes, I'll consider it. But... I already have one manufactured in 1918. Don't really need to spend the money for another one.
  16. Honestly, I don't think these surplus 1911s will be any deal at all. Initial prices have been discussed to be about $1100-$1500 for a tired, worn out 1911. We will see what actually comes out, but I'm not holding my breath.
  17. Don't be fooled. Smart money would still take Alabama over Wisconsin.
  18. That left me stunned and speechless... in a good way. Wow!
  19. He's sharing a room with Ted Kennedy.
  20. Remembering what Thanksgiving is all about. Thanking God for the country and circumstances He gave us.
  21. Now there's a thought we could exploit. "Scope eye" could be the next big medical "non-issue", like IBS. We could come up with all sorts of grant proposals, we'll have to buy lots of new rifles, ammunition and every scope mount on the market to test every possible combination to see just how severe the injuries are, see if two piece rings are safer than one-piece scope rings, what materials are safest. Man oh man, this could be the gold mine.
  22. Back by Elon Musk and Stephen Hawking? Anything backed by those two numbnutz raises a red flag.
  23. With a scope, probably not. With iron sights, easily. My 16" TNArms lower/Aero upper is right at 7lbs.
  24. I've been seeing this more and more. It's good in that new (but inexperienced) people are getting involved with shooting. It's bad that someone is going to put their eye out eventually. It's good, because it will send more business to Armed Eye Doc.
