  1. It wasn't done overnight.
  2. Just got in 1000 new Xtreme 200 grain 45acp HP. They sure are pretty!
  3. Unless it's out of spec (wobble, play, etc.) a modern Rock Chucker isn't going to buy you anything over it. But if you have a choice to get one, get a Dillon, Hornady or RCBS progressive press. You'll thank me later.
  4. Very little info on it, but a glioblastoma was found while removing a blood clot from over his left eye. These are very nasty. By the time they are detected, it's usually too late. Ask me how I know. I was never a fan of Sen. McCain, but I'd never wish this on anyone (well, maybe a few peckerheads). https://townhall.com/tipsheet/christinerousselle/2017/07/19/sen-john-mccain-diagnosed-with-brain-cancer-n2357309?utm_source=thdaily&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=nl&newsletterad http://www.kellykickingcancer.org/
  5. I have a bunch of their blades, full sized Recon, mini Recon, Voyager. Incredibly strong folders, but their AUS-8 blades don't keep their edge and dull relatively quickly. Prefer my Spyderco Delica Sabre for edc. Super all-round blade.
  6. I got out with the AeroPrecisionUSA 16" AR15 with the new upper. This time I stuck my Leupold 3x9 on it, and used some of my best reloads (69 gr Sierra BTHP over 24.3 grains AA2520... killer load!) I'm satisfied with the new upper from Aero. Got a decent group from it. I think the problem really rests with the Magpul BUIS. My eyes just don't like them as much as the adjustable KAC BUIS. So, when some extra money becomes available, I'll be switching them out. Anyone want some like-new Magpul steel, adjustable BUIS?
  7. Isn't the red Loctite "permanent". Wouldn't you rather go with blue if you anticipate ever taking the barrel off?
  8. I've got three Criterion barrels installed (two M1 Garands and an AR15). They are superb, no doubt about it. A number of AR15 builders I know insist on using blue Loctite on the barrel when installing it, saying it takes up the gap between the barrel extension and the upper receiver. All mine have required a heat gun to expand the upper just enough to slip in the barrel, so I've personally never done it.
  9. Yeah, I got an apology from S&W for taking so long. It will get here.
  10. Welcome from the swamps.
  11. Idaho. Reminds me of a joke about a beauty contest... But seriously, the scenery is unmatched, I did a lot of mapping in the Copper Basin up near the Stanley and Lemhi Ranges in the 70s. Incredible country! Also Craters Of The Moon National Monument. Bring water, lots of water!
  12. You know what, when the new batch of projectiles arrive, I'll take a pic of the open box. There are very few metals as pretty as polished copper.
  13. Loaded 500 45acp 200 grain Xtreme plated hollow points with 7.7 grains Silhouette. Just opened the Xtreme box and stopped when empty. They sure are pretty!
  14. Welcome from the swamps of LA. Yes, Garands are COOL!
  15. Not just the gun owners, every decent American gets f*&ked over by Kalifornia. I lived there in the mid-90s. Beautiful scenery but like living in an ant hill. After I got transferred out, I received a letter from the bastards in Sacramento telling me they were entitled to a percentage of my retirement pay because I had worked in their miserable state for four years. I wrote them back and said come and get it. In the neck for all of Kalifornia.
  16. Thanks. The center of the group is about 1.5" high to my POA. This was at 100 yds, and I try to zero everything for 200 yds. I'll get the windage sorted out eventually.
  17. I don't recall. What was that about?
  18. Update: In my initial post I complained about the poor quality/operation of the DoubleStar charging handle. I went back to MidwayUSA where I purchased it, and they said they no longer carried that item, so I'd have to go to the manufacturer. I emailed DoubleStar, and a very nice lady wrote me back within a day. She apologized, said with the volume of charging handles they manufacture one eventually slips out that is substandard. If I'd send her proof of purchase they would gladly send me another. I did, she did. It arrived yesterday and it functions as perfectly as I could want. That's good customer service. Thank you DoubleStar!
  19. Should have done the stunt before they replicated. Stupid, stupid, stupid!
  20. A few years back the state of Louisiana, which recognized the problem we have with the invasive species nutria, launched an informational campaign encouraging people to hunt and eat nutria. People said it was tasty, but it never caught on (except with the coonasses, they'll eat anything), I suspect mostly because in general no one wants to eat rodent. If they had run the same campaign for the wild hogs down here, being a more familiar meat, hogs would no longer be the problem they are.
  21. Isn't that Chelsey Clinton's face in the window of her new limo?
  22. I was in Houston on business. Walking around downtown looking for a place to eat one night and stopped into the restaurant associated with one of the hotels which featured semi exotic meats such as bison burgers. I ordered the "Wild boar sausage and pepperoni" pizza. I'd never have thought of that combo, so I tried it. Outstanding! That was some of the finest sausage ever on a thin crust pizza. After that, I went around the corner to a place called "The Flying Saucer". Great pub, lots of beers on tap. The walls are covered with platters with people's names painted on them. I think you get a saucer if you have 200 beers at their pub. Some of the guys at my office are working on their third plates!
  23. The libtard politicos in Seattle DO get it. They just don't care because their agenda is not to govern by the rule of law (and common sense) but to implement their useless policies and control EVERY aspect of life in that city. That's why they also passed their stupid $15/hr minimum wage law, and now people are being laid off, and total wages are going down. THEY DON'T CARE! Control is everything to these communists.
  24. Questions for you. Item 1. why? What did you learn? Item 2. I don't doubt your experience, but this is the first time I've heard a machinist say increase rpm when cutting plastic. Most machinists I've talked to say decrease rpm in plastics otherwise the heat generated from the higher rpm will cause the chips to weld to the endmill and cause the lower to warp.
  25. If it is reliable and has no functioning problems, leave it alone. Several of my ARs throw the empties to 1-2 o'clock. As long as you're getting consistent and repeatable function, and the accuracy is good, should be no problems.
