  1. <lmao> Clever boy
  2. I know, seasprite, I can't explain it. There is a decent thread somewhere about Alliant 2000 MR, the sister powder to CFE223. They are supposed to be almost identical & made in the same plant, as you may know. They are loving the stuff with heavies on top. PM sent
  3. I'd hit it!!
  4. Yep, I have a record here for 45.9 gn cfe223 in Winchester brass & 178 Amax. Just 3 shots in the summer I don't have temp High 2545 Low 2520 SD: 12.4 EDIT: Here's most everything I have on it, bro. A pic is worth a thousand words, lot's of pics I want to get payed for my private info <laughs> I'll get back to this testing sooner or later. Actually I want to rerun the whole thing again. I think my shooting skills are a little better than when I ran these thru. I SS media brass cleaning method now and just I've gotten better at doing all this stuff I think. Oh Man, SS media tumbling is the only way now that I've done it <thumbsup> Note: That printout with the 46.8 gn cfe223, shot #4 belongs as shot #1 for the 47.1 gn printout. That 47.1 looks to be a good place to work around. As I remember the Winchester brass came out looking pretty good and it was warm weather. Nice ES/SD too <thumbsup> I think this CFE stuff likes to be shot higher end charges, at least in mine.
  5. I'd recommend a barrel for you that looks cool on a target, or better yet some critters boiler room.
  6. That one looks like a smart design. I like the shroud that it holds the bag up & out enough to allow to eject reliable ejection. That it swings out for emptying is pretty cool too. Looks like best one I've seen <thumbsup> Good job brother unforgiven!! edit: this one I built just for at the range
  7. Yeah, you should for sure get a optic upgrade. You will find far better options in the 3-500 $ range. Try Vortex, Bushnell, Leopold among some others. SWFA has great fixed powers for 300-400. I love my SWFA 12x42 MRAD. My groups shrank the instant I slapped it on my LR-308. That 3" Remington group you shot will shrink with a good upgrade to a durable well built rifle scope. That and more trigger time, at least once a week go shoot the hell out of that paper <thumbsup> 168 grain .308 "Sierra Match King" Federal Gold Medal Match shoots sweet in mine too. Those go 2450 fps out of my 16". I hand load and when I get a 168 Amax load going 2450 fps they fly pretty tight like the Federal Match does, even when using a few different powders I've tried.
  8. He knows, Mikedaddyh <thumbsup>
  9. Wholly crap this ones gonna be Bad Ass!! http://screenrant.com/world-war-z-movie-trailer/ Or get the 3 minute version (it's way better) on YouTube
  10. Cool, good luck seaprite. You should see up to 2550ish fps out of the 16" with the warmer ones. I went warmer than that too and got up to 2600. But groups up there sucked. I'm gonna run it again to make sure, pretty soon. The hotter loads that I shot grouped badly but the ES's/SD's were great. I wish I had 300+ yards to shoot those loads. Apparently I'll have to drive far to shoot far :'(
  11. I'm looking forward to you and those 178's showing up. I saw up too 2545 average with them and CFE, 45.9 grains in Win cases. ES was 24.7, not too bad but should be able to make that better. I know what mean about addiction. I came I to a old Thumler's rock tumbler for nothing and it works great after I cleaned & lubed it, & the new drive belt I ordered for it just came yesterday. Next I'm waiting for stainless steel pins to show up and I will be set to start stainless steel media brass tumbling, 100 pieces at a time. I have hundreds of once fired brass I got from someone cheap. I can hardly wait to see how the brass comes out after SS media tumbling. Guys who do SS media the brass comes out looking like new inside and out. No more brushing out necks and cleaning primer pockets one at a time. Ultra sonic isn't quite doing the whole job with that.
  12. When I set out buy a buttstock I was going to get the ACS. Their is a guy at the shows that sells all the Magpul stuff. I got to check over ACS & UBR side by side and decided on the UBR instead. The only advantage the ACS has is it's cheaper & lighter, but way cheaper. I liked the UBR because it felt so solid and durable, and it looks much better too. Their was an durability test somebody did with UBR vs. many others. Dropping from up on a ladder the UBR didn't break while all the others did.
  13. I just wanted to see how it changes after I threw a stock buffer & spring. If brass comes out in better shape etc. And I wanted to see how the adjustable gas block does what it's supposed to do when it's not fighting a heavy buffer. I was able to turn the screw on the gas block in a ways more, as I expected. Since I have the JP Low Mass BCG it probably likes lighter stock buffer? And Clint doesn't recommend adj. gas block when running heavy buffer. I've gotten ejection problems and then that broken extractor tha I can't explain. I'm going to run this way awhile and have a look see. Silent Captured Spring, the system won't know the difference but the spring is simply silent, no twang or anything. Neat looking design but expensive. I would get it if I can sell my CAR 10-XH buffer/spring for $100 or so. But, come to think of it, I dunno they might not have one for a carbine length and I'm using a UBR buttstock. You have to run carbine length in the UBR.
  14. Well okay, Mike, you get the credit. At least we got it back TTT.
  15. ^ actually I loaded up some of your load with the 168 & 47.9 CFE223, seasprite. Haven't got to shoot them yet. But I haven't gotten back too the 178's yet, I have an itch to load up some OCW with those, though, and test them next time also. I've shot a lot of Varget under 168 AMAX lately and I like it, best groups so far, by far. I've been stocking up on bullets too, I have about 1000 30 cal all together now. I found a place that sells 168 AMAX in #250 box for $54. Also I took out my Slash's XH heavy buffer/spring and put in a borrowed stock carbine buffer/spring for evaluation. I think if this works good I'll get the JP silent captured spring, so far it works good after one session, some more felt recoil though.
  16. I stumbled across this little essay and thought some of you might appreciate it. http://optimalchargeweight.embarqspace.com/ You're welcome <laughs>
  17. free porn on my iPhone <lmao> <munch>
  18. That's another good reason to DYI. Get the trigger YOU want, deck it all out how you want in the beginning. I forgot about the LMT MWS too. My son ordered one a month or so ago. 6 months is what they told him. Actually, as I remember now, that's the one I recommended too him. I told him to get the SS match barrel too. But if he lived close to me I would have made him build his own instead. Then I could help him do it.
  19. Yes, yes I can see it now it is all sooooo clear, now we need the right to hunt, fish & trap the Federal Government.
  20. But how does one secede from a state without actually moving out of it (Kalifornia)? Sacramento, aka Sac"o"tomatoes, must be the western territory outpost for Washington DC. Ah yes, beautiful Kalifornia, where Marxist dreams are tested & realized, & then distributed throughout. From my perspective I wish we could have kept their crap east of the Mississippi, and in other ways south of the border. My state is being destroyed, everything which made it great is gone. The weather sure kicks ass, though <thumbsup>
  21. It's more fun to build and you can personalize it once and be done. But I'm leaning towards the GAP 10 with your budget if you don't want to build. Actually nobody has said it but I know we have more fun too when you build it yourself. I don't know what wait times are like now if you do buy whole, but I bet it's no better than it has been, no surprise if worse now. I bet you can have a fine working tool significantly sooner if you DYI, and really it's easy. But GAP 10 built too your app and you're golden when you receive it.
  22. I know the feeling, seasprite.
  23. Forgot maybe I shoulda put up her link http://www.sadiebrownmusic.com/shows.htm
  24. Oh thats perfect brother unforgiven!! We play each other in two weeks. Yeah bears look great this year. I don't know too much about their success but I'm thinking it's their defense too? I'm looking at that one to be a great, but difficult game for both sides I think. May the team who deserves it most win, I don't know who that will be but you guys worry me :) Edit; oh yeah, my wife and I both like same teams, thankfully. We are baseball Giants fans too <lmao> I still can't believe they did what they did and the way they did it, shocking..
  25. Okay, thank You brother, I like that kind too <thumbsup>
