  1. I thought RNC is acronym for Rino National Convention. Are you guys sure??? Oh well I guess I somethin every day <dontknow>
  2. In the context of Atlas Shrugged, "I am Brandon J. Raub"
  3. Wow that's cool....... the future?
  4. Why no illuminated in AZ? What's their excuse for that? <dontknow>
  5. FKG JD!!! Okay this IS the last straw!!!! For any build(s) I might do in the future it will be all MEGA receivers, or maybe even Seekins. JD end product is fine, real good I had no problem with quality and design, it's all about their CS. You just don't fornicate people like this. They make receivers for lots of name brands and cater to them 1st I imagine. What time they have left goes into their own name is the way I see it. Sorry about this Yamadawg.
  6. Get the XH. I'm running UBR + CAR 10-XH with the modded Armalite spring and it's just great. I don't run suppressor but if it sucks up more felt recoil then all the better.
  7. Yeah this, check out the Raddlock too. http://www.nationalgunsupply.com/Raddlock-Bullet-Button-p/ca-raddlock.htm
  8. Love it, Yamadawg!!! Check this what it did the other day. Have to prove it out though. http://308ar.com/forum/index.php?topic=4177.0
  9. Thanks seasprite!! I'll take what you say to the loading bench. I do want to stay with the hotter loads for the velocity. I'll see if I can improve up there. I'm getting better with all the case prep and stuff thanks to advise from you and others. I took your advice about seating depth too. Thank you for all the help, bro!!! <thumbsup>
  10. Welcome home <thumbsup>
  11. Yeah I gotta say that was a real good feeling to see man and machine come together after that one. Felt nice and tingly, maybe even at the testicular level <laughs> But seriously I can't wait to load some more of those up and prove it. The 43.6 charge that grouped is 1/10th grain over Hodgdon max for 168 gr Sierra HPBT. There was definite increase in recoil impulse up there in that charge, but it felt good, hard to explain. Primers looked awesome absolutely no cratering (none at all with those 178's over the CFE223 either by the way). But at 43.6 H4895 their was on two case heads slight stamping from that ejector mark, just a hint. I think maybe prudent to back off charge just a bit. Maybe work between 43.3 and 43.6. Also I may shoot faster between shots. The more I look at my targets today the more I develop theory in my head that the first shot is cold so maybe that causes the POI to be off from the next two "warm" rounds. Just a hunch to prove or disprove to myself. It makes sense if you look at most my groups on the paper. Shall I load 4round groups and ignore where 1st lands or do another way? Or load my four Pmags with 3 rounds each for the ready to change in mags quickly? I like the former me thinks. Just thinking out loud, guys <munch>
  12. Good luck and be careful if hot day. Me thinks CFE may e temp sensitive. We have seen pressure signs on warmer days. When I shot the .308 cfe223 loads yesterday it was only 68F when I got started & 70 when I left in the afternoon when I was done with the other H4895 loads. No pressure signs with CFE yesterday & primers were beautiful. But that's with the 178's. On a 83F day I shot 168 Amax loads over CFE and all primers cratered and ejector marks lots of times, & rims bent back from ejector sometimes. But same day also shot 178 Amax under CFE and no signs like that. Maybe because less CFE charge under the 178's? <dontknow>
  13. I dunno maybe, mikedaddy. But I took lots of time between shots and groups. I wasn't in a big hurry & was aware I don't want barrel to get hot. But I know ammo gets hot in the chamber when next one loads up. Maybe that's why I get the kind of groups I get a lot. Usually two close together and one off like it's a flyer. Maybe the one by themselves in groups is the first one. Darn now I can't remember, you just made me think about it.
  14. I wanted to try this one since it has a faster burn rate than anything I've tried so far. Just had an idea that the 16" might be better with it <dontknow> 168 A-Max H4895 Winchester brass once fired. Forster Bench Rest die, Ultrasonic cleaned CCI BR-2 2.815" Neck tension .002" H4895 43.0 gr (shot #4 doesn't belong with this string, although it looks like #2 doesn't belong) H4895 43.3 gr H4895 43.6 gr I dunno if last one was accident or not <dontknow> Best group I ever shot outta anything :o SD sucks though, go figure <dontknow>
  15. Hi everybody. Got busy at the range and got this stuff for you. I don't feel too wordy right now I'm just gonna get to the data and stuff. To recap rifle used; JD Machine Tech receiver set, JP Super Match 16", JP BCG, JP EZ single stage, Slash's CAR 10-XH, UBR, Vortex FH. 178 A-Max CFE223 Winchester twice fired. Re-sized with Forster Bench Rest die. Ultrasonic cleaned. CCI BR-2 2.815" CFE223 44.7 gr CFE223 45.0 gr CFE223 45.3 gr CFE223 jump to 46.5 gr CFE223 46.8 gr CFE223 47.1 gr CFE223 47.4 gr I reckon that's it. Please comment. I have idea where I'll go with it from here.... I'm thinking work around that 47.1 next. I wanna keep up the velocity in the 16" with these 178's.
  16. Okay fine I did it. He's lucky because I'm die hard Giants fan, and to hell with Melky P.O.S.!!!! Edit; And another thing.... GO NINERS!!!! <munch>
  17. This is all LOL!!! I would like sn NOBS2012.... BS = Barry Sotoro = Bull Sheet <laughs>
  18. ^^ you guys, I feel very humbled.....
  19. Sporting a weapon of any kind in my vehicle (1996 Toyota T100 SR5 4x4) is socially unacceptable around these parts. If I could I would haul my .44 magnum chambered Winchester model 94 Trapper. My Glock to get to Trapper, Trapper to get to LR-308. That's fantasy in the SF Bay Area LoL!!!
  20. <lmao> <laughs> <munch> <thumbsup>
  21. Ooooooooo he said the M worrrrrrd....... <laughs>
  22. They called me back on Monday to have me come back in for another interview scheduled for today (thu. 8/16). They brought me into the production area to look at all the machines that I would work on. They all had components that I am very familiar with. I was able to snap out answers to most questions. Able to open control cabinet and tell them what the heck all that stuff in there was and for what. I'm actually used to more complex controls so I felt comfortable in there. I felt good on the way out, fingers still crossed. :)
  23. I apologize, Jon, I got confused somewhere up there. This is the thing I just got. So far i loves it!!
  24. Yes safe to shoot no muzzle device on it. Much quieter too :)
  25. This Coolaid ain't half bad, got ice? <thumbsup>
