  1. When did you order? My friend has been looking for one, actually whole BCG. Only thing he needs now.
  2. I would really like a bolt action .308. One of those tacticool jobs like Desert Tactical. One good reason is so I can seat close to lands & have fun with all that stuff. But to worry about any of that for an AR doesn't get my nad, I don't get it. It seems I can go 2.815" OAL with the pmag LR-20. But I keep it at 2.810" for my 168's. I tried seating depths for SMK'S, Amax's & Nosler Silver Tips & they all seem to like it most right there in mine. I do measure from Ogive's.
  3. I had forgotten my password. I just took care of that, so I'm here.
  4. I got my first perscription in 2011. And then Solyndra bought everyone who wanted them some perscription safety glasses and many many different frames to choose. I'd say mine were worth $400, lenses and frames. I recieved mine a week before the company shut down... FUCKING IDIOTS!!!! But that is where all your tax money went. They spent like a stupid woman with a American Express. Mine are now my Shootin' glasses
  5. Oh well so much for that one......... Thanks for your support, guys
  6. It just doesn't work out for me anymore, for the time being, to make the gun show in South San Fransisco at the Cow Palace. Gas $$ for round trip, $5 to cross San Mateo bridge from Fremont to San Mateo, $8 parking, I think it's $12 now to get in building. And when you get in after the massive line you waited in, I hate lines of any type, I hate traffic and avoid all that like the plague. But its all a pain in the ass now and I probably won't find what I went for, like the bullets, powder & primers I want. Bullets all much cheaper on internet when all is factored in. But I avoid powder and primers from internet & just wait for Bass Pro stock or local gun shop. Would really like some WLR primers. I just bought box of 500 168 gr SMK from Midsouth Shooters Supply today. Just have to stay married to the internet search daily.
  7. :) hey thanks guys for the support!! You what I was so excited for this last night I could not sleep. No I didn't sleep a wink. But I was able to shrug that off and it might have even helped me somehow. I was fired up and felt real good when I got there. It lasted almost 4 hours. I called my wife, cried, and collapsed on my bed awhile after I got home. Just woke up <laughs> <thumbsup>
  8. I landed a job interview for industrial maintenance mechanic at Tesla Motors in Fremont, Ca. this morning. Got to be interviewed by 4 different mgrs. individually. I got to tour a lot of the plant where they build the new Tesla Model S. It is beautiful and packs a lot of performance. But I had a great feeling walking out of there. I the attitude that there was no f'ing way I was not going to get this job. I think I pulled it off well and will know next week. I hope so, tesla is the one place I want to be.

    Tumbling

I have lots of brass 1x fired from .308 bolt gun. The brass is pretty clean. I was decapping with Lee decap die and then SS media wet tumbling, drying, sizing & then the rest of the prepping. But then I'd want to tumble again to clean any left over lube. I got a clue and realized I can just lube them and size them first before any tumbling or cleaning. So now I size/decap and then clean in SS media, dry and finish prep (trimming, deburr and chamfer mouths, uniform primer pockets & deburr flash holes. Lots of time saved of course. Too bad brass for semi auto don't last for much use, part of the semi deal. SS media tumbling = clean and sparkly on outside but equally as absolutly spotless clean on inside. On the inside, that is why, too me, it is so good. Another thing is that any chewed up rims that are still good but with burrs that need to be knocked down or smoothed out, well the SS wet tumble just takes care of it perfectly. It is the solution that pretty much takes care of everything, except for loose primer pockets which is what kills my brass usage. Edit; I wanted to say that since I have started with SS media wet tumbling more than one person has seen my results and switched over to the same method. They were completely sold when they saw the method and the results of it. One guy was not a reloader. He comes over & sees what I do. He in the past few weeks and and bought Dillon 550B and is acquiring all other associated equipement & tools and SS media tumbling stuff and is now a reloader. I was like wtf <dontknow>
  10. Well I dunno, my friend picked up his new .308 SI Defense matched set here at my house yesterday. SI going to take names for NIB BCG's in week or two.
  11. I ran a Slash's Heavy Buffer & a adjustable gas block at the same time. One of them had to go & now I run stock carbine buffer/spring in UBR & the adjustable gas block. I think it's better since I only shoot my own recipe's & it is beneficial to me to be able to taylor gas system pressure for the particular load. The amount of turns from valve closed too the required valve open setting for a particular load can be recorded and noted in your load recipe notebook, or whatever you call it. May have to adjust for weather. YMMV Edit; Of course it matters that I run a JP low mass bolt carrier which is intended to run with adjustable gas block so, well so the system is working pretty good now that I tossed the heavy buffer.

    Crimping

I use a Forster FL die and it leaves .002" of neck tension. At least it did until I polished the sizer ball down to leave .0035" neck tension. I haven't made a dummy round to check if it works yet. Should get on that.
  13. Yup!! I am lucky if I get 4 loads out of brass before pockets get loose. I learned my lesson when I tried to push it with some loose pockets and I won't so that anymore after I found a primer in my chamber after I took a shot with it. That could have been bad if it found the wrong spot down in there with the trigger. Naw, actually the next round coming in never made it.
  14. <dontknow> I had no idea this thread went on this long. Lots of good shared info there <thumbsup>

    Armageddon

My greatest fart ever. A few decades ago (you know it had to be great if I still remember it, greatest farts become family stories) I had to sleep in my dad extra twin bed in his room, by that time Ma & Pa had separate rooms. Two story house dads room facing over driveway. About 6:00 am we sleeping, I 1/4 awoke because stomach had that feeling of pre-eminate action. I was on my stomach, my ass arched up & no later than that it commenced to release the most awesomest dislpay of linear gas expulsion from the human body in the history of mankind. This thing was loud, reverberating, lasted for SEVERAL seconds, woke my dad up and made the two ladies on their morning walk, whom my dad talked too sometimes, chuckle as they walked by in front while possessing perfect timing to witness the extraordinary incident, the window was open. If it was recorded you would not believe this fart. My dad was pissed!!! Ladies thought it was him AHAHAHHAHAHAHA!! <laughs> <lmao>

    Never mind

Yeah 10 minutes ago I couldn't, it had been down for 3 days. Looks like they are coming back up slowly.
  17. <dontknow> :cookoo:
  18. Well, I never told her that I sold my USO, for more than I payed, and bought new scope for less. Until 10 minutes ago, now that I have it. She was perturbed at first but got over it after I showed her the new one. Luckily she don't shoot anymore <thumbsup>
  19. Yeah I just lapped my bro in law's AR15 upper's front end before we put on his new barrel, a 16" Ultra Match .223. I can do this too <thumbsup>
  20. I was thinking about it. I just got a new BOBRO in and figured that a expensive mount like it won't need it. Or just tricking myself into wanting to believe that. But, if I were to lap the mount rings, who does it? I would do it to lesson any damage that can be done to the scope tube. I just don't know who does it. Edit; Oh well duh!! Ok I didn't read second page. A kit from midway... I was just at midway too, looking for bullets, LoL!!! What bullets? <dontknow>
  21. After reviewing mounts I just thought the BOBRO QD was going to be a smart choice. SWFA has them but they are still steep. I payed $209 for it. But I got $200 off the price of scope so..... <thumbsup>
  22. Awe 98!! I'm so excited I finally got it. I wish I could bring it too you now and show it off. If you lived in the Bay Area I would. Mount is super nice too!!
  23. I ordered a new scope 10 months ago in a group buy and it showed up at its new home today <thumbsup> So far I think I really really like this scope. I ordered a BOBRO mount to go with it too. .1 mil adjustments. First Focal Plane Illuminated Donut (Circle/Mil-Scale) 30mm Tube .10 Mrad, 10 Mils per Rev. Field of View @ 100yds (ft): 95-15.9 HD Model Undercover Turrets A year ago when I was trying to find the perfect scope for me, on my LR308, I couldn't find it from anyone, at any price. Then I found a review of the prototype of this scope. When I saw the reticle and how it worked with FFP, and it's illuminated, I knew I found the perfect scope for what I want it for. I am relieved after looking thru it @ 6x, the reticle is not thick at all. I was worried that, it being FFP, that the reticle would be too thick at full power, like my USO 1.5-6 FFP was. It was a good day!! I can take a few pics of reticle, but later, I'm tired now. But this reticle should be very useful. http://swfa.com/SWFA-SS-HD-1-6x24-Tactical-30mm-Riflescope-P53845.aspx
  24. Oh crap that never occured to me. Damnit, your right that is a big concern. Thanks, DrDover!!
  25. I use one too. I'm just not ready to splurge on a Giraud. Happy enough now with the WFT for .308. Since the WFT uses the case shoulder as the datum, and not the case base like with the old school Forster I was using, the cases come out being within +- .001" from one another. That is if the shoulder were bumped the same in the sizer die. Being that the .308 brass is fired out of a semi auto, some brass pieces bases are kinda tweaked by a few thou. In that case those wont match as well. But it's still way better than Foster old school.
