  1. Two questions: 1. Do you want a two stage or a single stage? If you have the standard Armalite AR10 like R2 says, you have a two stage combat trigger, which is very good, but not great. 2. Do you like having some slack to take up before the trigger releases? If so stick with two stage. For precision accuracy this is what I would go with. If you want immediate bang when you pull the trigger, get a single stage. Maybe preferable on 3 gun competition rifles where split seconds possibly count. if you are going for a “battle rifle” and not going to use for precision work, maybe stick with what you have until you are familiar with it to the tune of 300 rounds or so. Then you will know if you like it or not. Then you can always make the switch to something else, such as a better quality two stage, or a single stage.
  2. Welcome from another OFG, though trying to lose some.
  3. I use the same thing on my leather sling I use on my M1A stock. Linseed oil. I like the 1906 slings so much I have put them on all my full size rifles, Savage 30-06 bolt, M1A, AR10, and AR15. Maybe because it is what I learned on, but I shoot better with them in the standing position or seated position with longer rifle barrels than any other type sling.
  4. oops double post.
  5. Beautiful JT! My first rifle was a sporterized Winchester made 1917 my Dad bought me at Sears Robuck when I was 12. At 300 yards with those iron sights it would put every shot in the black. My Dad thought it was the strongest action of any military bolt action, and as an ordnance metallurgist, he probably knew. Let myself be talked into selling it to a friend who turned out not to be a friend. Regret it to this day. Congrats Brother on a fine acquisition!
  6. Damn! I thought he would live forever! We will miss you Gunny, They broke the mold when they made him.
  7. Looking good! It will come together.
  8. Naw real men order it by the pallet load. It is called “lack of room!” Until I can do about 7-8 visits to the range, I got too many! Next project is to shoot up 500 ZQ-1 and reload the brass (which is very good) with some of the Barnes high performance bullets. I got that ZQ two years ago for $5.40 a box! That is $135 for 500!
  9. 220 rounds of Federal 175gr Gold Medal Match from PSA.
  10. Tragic to lose young men like that. We need all of them of that quality we have.

  12. Lookin great Blue! If I can drag my carcass out there this fall I gotta try shooting them! I will bring my own ammo!
  13. Welcome to the forum. And with all due respect, borrow a friends better quality drill press for the next one. Marginal tools will bite you in the rear in the long run, especially with expensive projects. Make sure the bit is quality as well.
  14. Nice camo job!
  15. Saw that, then I realized it was the LGS address. But thanks to Edge for looking out for us on that stuff. Never know what kind of trolls are looking at this.
  16. This stuff works pretty good for break in. Can find it as low as $10.99 sometimes. Will PM you when I see good deals on 300 Blk. Along with JT and Wash. http://palmettostatearmory.com/sellier-bellot-300-aac-blackout-147gr-fmj-ammunition-20rds-sb300blkb.html
  17. Here is mine with my can on the end.
  18. Rest easy sir, you served your country and state well. Trooper, truly sorry for your loss.
  19. Excellent! I just have too darn much right now. OK I lied, just ordered. Can’t reload for that price. Just too good a deal.
  20. Next rifle is going to be a heavy barrel bolt gun, left hand action. In 260 remington. And I will be making my own brass from my current large stock of 308. Considering investigating getting a 308 Tikka and rebarreling it for 260. Better still if I can just find a left handed 308 Tikka action. I know where I can get the 308 full rifle, but would need to rebarrel and replace the stock.
