  1. Just installed my Trujicon Suppressor sights(high) on my FNX 45. Front sight was a b___ch to get off.
  2. "Liberal" Minnesota is #17! Higher then Texas! Wisconsin is #20! Told you, up here both Republicans and Democrats own guns!
  3. Not a build, since I found what I had researched to buy as a closeout when Armalite quit making them. Armalite AR10T "B" model carbine. 16" stainless triple lapped heavy barrel, Rifle gas system 308/7.62x51, swapped out factory stock for a Luth MBA-1, for optics a Primary Arms 1x6 308/223 BDC lighted reticle. At 1x power is a serviceable red dot type as well. Accurate compact and flexible.
  4. That's what makes it fun and keeps us on our toes!
  5. Called 10 minutes ago. Only have for DPMS style receivers. Too bad really nice barrels. I know Wilson barrels used to be standard on Rock River rifles. Might still be..
  6. Some people live in fear, some people delude themselves that all people are "nice" and some do what it takes to protect themselves and others. Bless the Sheep Dogs of the world. Both the human and the animal type.
  7. So Drinkin Bros shows men how to BBQ and shows their women how to hold their licker?
  8. One verbal slip up... and I'm toast Try 1962. My Dad bought me a Spanish knock off of a Colt 1911 called a Llama, brand new for $27 at Herter's in Waseaca Minnesota. The fixed sights shot literally 2 feet to the right at 10 yards. I saved my money and for $22 bought an adjustable Micro sight for it out of a Stoeger Arms catalogue. Never was truly accurate, but I disassembled that pistol and reassembled it every day for months until I could do it blindfolded. Regretfully sold it a long time ago, but still have and use the cleaning rod that came with it.
  9. That Houston warehouse story IS incredible! I got the guy here can cut it to size as well.
  10. The other option, is my standard AR 10 rifle is becoming a "safe queen", being shot less then the AR10T and the M1A, I could pick up a 260 barrel for that and be GTG. Has Nikon Monarch 4x16 glass already on it, which is really nice. $750, and done. Just have to decide between 20" and 24".
  11. I get very inconsistent velocities out of it. Much more then my reload clones
  12. Just checked gun broker. I could get a B model AR10 slightly used for around $650 to start the build. Damn, got me thinking.
  13. If the range wasn't snowed in I could get some chrony data, since I have a stash of it, But it will need to wait a month at this rate.
  14. This work of yours really interests me. The Grendel has the advantage of keeping with an AR 15 length cartridge. Reading about this got me thinking of an unorthodox "what the hell build" since I have a good supply of 308 Brass to resize, I am thinking of a 260 Remington SBR or a 16 in Bull barrel rifle if I don't want to mess with an ATF stamp application. I was going to talk to my FFL guy to see if we could figure out a legal way to do it. If I can find an older AR10 "B" model I would probably use that as a base to start the build, since I have a ton of Gen II magazines. Although if I do the SBR I probably will do two stamps and get a can for it at the same time. The can will be more to reduce muzzle blast from the short barrel then suppress it since it will be definitely supersonic. The 260 Remington has me intrigued to see what kind of performance I could wring out of a "shorty".
  15. 10-4, learned that the hard way when I misplaced the pin that came with it. It isn't hard, just a different procedure from my ingrained habit of breaking down my traditional 1911's which I have been doing since I was 14.

I don't know. I have seen it on Mexican Restaurant menus all over the country, and enjoyed it when I ordered it. It might very well be an Americanized version of Mexican food, I will ask Jose, our local restaurant owner who is a good dude next time I see him. I started working on my own take on it a year ago, and have added a bit to the restaurant version. Wash, it is loose. I put a layer of melting cheese on top and bake it. Quick recipe: 2 Lbs. deboned thin sliced chicken, 1 cup black beans, 4 oz chopped roasted green chiles, 2 oz Adobo, or if powdered, 2 table spoons adobo seasoning. 1/4 tsp ground chipotle pepper, 1 tsp Tajin Classico seasoning, 2tbsp red chile powder, 1/2 chopped onion, 1 lb good(and I mean good) quality chorizo sausage. 1/2 cup of Mexican crumbling cheese and 1/2 cup of melting(quesadilla cheese), and 1/4 cup of Mexican crème, you can use half and half if you want. Chop up onion and brown onion, chicken, chorizo and green chiles. in a skillet, while adding seasonings. When browned, add beans(drain if canned beans)and mix in beans and crumbling cheese and crème. At this point I taste test and add more seasonings if needed. Often I will also add a small can of El Pato salsa or else add some Valentina salsa picante if I think it needs it. But you have to be careful it doesnt get too soupy. Layer quesadilla cheese over the top and pop the skillet in the oven for 30-40 minutes at 350F. Put a corn tostada in the bottom of a bowl add the Choripollo and break up another tostada over it., or use some tortilla chips. the wife likes to add a splash of sour cream or plain yogurt on top of it, and chop up some fresh red cabbage to mix in with it, which helps if there is too much liquid. My wife is addicted to it. She asks me to make it about once a week. I have started making a double batch and refrigerating left overs for lunches or freezing it for a quick meal. If you try it let me know how it works out.

    no pc bs.

Truth... Too much PC and BS getting in the way of common sense.
  18. Got plenty of maple syrup in Wisconsin for you Brother.
  19. Actually, a traditional 1911 I can do in my sleep. But the Pro Carry has a bushingless design that requires a pin be inserted into a small hole in the barrel to disassemble the pistol. That I find to be a PITA since that pin can easily be misplaced and it is not an easy thing to find a replacement for. I went on the Kimber website, but can't tell if the TLE is a bushingless design. But nice looking pistol Brother! You got good taste.

My take on Choripollo, a mexican classic. Chicken and chorizo sausage.
  21. You don't have an AR10, you have a DPMS 308AR gen 1 they should work fine. AR10 is an Armalite only. As 98 and R2 said, they would work in an A model but not a B model AR10
  22. Like my Kimber Pro Carry II. Light, comfortable to carry and dead on at 25 yards. Just don' t like the take down rigamarole. Want to hear what you end up with.
  23. I was responding to someone other then you.My Dad got me going on reloading in 1964 so I am a newbie as well.
  24. Thanks Matt.
