    Fishing yesterday

No fish on Friday, but I did get to watch a fight between a mature bald eagle and an immature one. The adult really went after the younger one in mid air. Then chased him for about a mile. No permanent harm done, I don't think. I have seen an eagle kill an osprey right off our house. That was pretty brutal. I recovered what was left of the osprey and turned it over to the WDNR for testing. They don't get a chance to test many endangered species for viruses, parasites, etc.

    Fishing yesterday

I may well do that once I get these foot and ankle issues out of the way.

Want to take this rig down to the Carolina reservoirs and try it on stripers sometime.

    Fishing yesterday

Bum ankle and all, I got sick of sitting on my duff. Have lost my touch, though, no fish in the box!
  6. Looked at them for years before I did it. Had an Amazon credit that helped. I feel it also makes my chance of human error much less, so I rationalized the safety factor. Wish I had done it long ago.

    Water fowl 2017

I was walking down the street when I was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking homeless man who asked me for a couple of dollars for dinner. I took out my wallet, extracted ten dollars and asked,"If I give you this money, will you buy some beer with it instead of dinner?" "No, I had to stop drinking years ago," the homeless man replied. "Will you use it to go fishing instead of buying food?" I asked. "No, I don't waste time fishing," the homeless man said.."I need to spend all my time trying to stay alive." "Will you spend this on hunting equipment?" I asked. "Are you NUTS!" replied the homeless man. "I haven't gone hunting in 20 years!" "Well," I said, "I'm not going to give you money. Instead, I'm going to take you home for a shower and a terrific dinner cooked by my wife." The homeless man was astounded. "Won't your wife be furious with you for doing that? I replied, "Don't worry about that. It's important for her to see what a man looks like after he has given up drinking, fishing and hunting.
  9. I agree with SS I could care less if Bump Fires and cranks disappear. Had a crank in the 1970s for my AR180. It was a toy, nothing more. As for Blues last post right above, I haven't seen anything showing this bird was Liberal, Antifa, , White Supremacist or Alt Right for that matter. That kind of stuff just muddies the water until proven. Whatever or whoever he was, he was a sicko. Trying to lump it to a political brand on either end is plain BS in my opinion, and trying to use that it happened for political gain. Enough.
  10. I don't know how many of you have one of these digital powder measures, but I am impressed. It is fast and accurate to a tenth of a grain. Nice when you want to work up a ladder of rounds.to fine tune your Powder/bullet/individual firearm accuracy.
  11. Yep Mr Mac agree. No skill to empty bump fire equipped weapons into a mass of 20,000 people from 32 floors up. May the SOB burn in hell.
  12. On the island of Mindanao if I am not mistaken. 98 can fill us in on that. But it is still overwhelmingly Catholic.
  13. Phillipines is overwhelming Catholic.
  14. Hard lesson on situational awareness. Prayers for the deceased and the injured, and a shout out to the LEOS and first responders who kept it from being worse.
  15. You can say that again. I worked up a bunch of different loads to find the diet my rifles like the best. Glad I held off crimping them. Now that I have pretty much got the charges selected I need to pull some bullets on the marginal ones and recharge them with the preferred charge. I am upgrading my equipment to make it easier. Wore out one kinetic puller already.
  16. A friend moved to Vegas two years ago and works event security. He was fortunate that he was working an event on the other side of town last night. Like he said, this type of situation is always in the back of their minds. He also said that Las Vegas has a top notch group of First Responders from the police, to paramedics, to emergency services, and he heard from associates that the job they did last night on the scene was amazing. Death toll would have been far worse without their efforts. Maybe, but making assumptions right now will just throw fuel on the fire. Got enough hatred in this country to last a long while as it is.
  17. RCBS collet style bullet puller plus three collets from Midway.
  18. Let's not assume anything until we know. That just adds fuel to the fire. It's bad enough as it is. Paddock's story, whatever it is, will b e coming to light soon.
  19. Got a good price on Amazon plus $50 in credit plus free shipping4
  20. Hornady Lock and Load digital powder measure.
  21. Don't have that model but really like my Nikon Monarch
  22. Thanks Hemi . There was a 1 inch shift to the left with the subsonic as well. Negligible at 100 yards. I will update when I get my suppressor.
  23. Update: All my Lake City brass went for 300 Blk. cases. Loaded my 5.56 Winchester Brass with 23 Gr of RL15 behind a 75gr Hornady BTHP. worked very well today. I am close to my optimum load. Just need to do a ladder to find the best sweet spot for my AR15 HBAR. Firefield scope working well for the money.
