  1. Handsome! A favorite of my high school years!
  2. But Utah will issue them to non-residents who complete the training. And there was a certified instructor up here. So I play the hand I am dealt. Wisconsin's is so rudimentary there is no reciprocity with it.
  3. No one really wants Lutefisk. DPMS, Remington 308AR's and Bushmasters were all made in St. Cloud MN at one time. I do not know if they still are. Utah nonresident keeps me legal in 32 states.
  4. As of the end of 2014, Minnesota no longer honors the Utah concealed carry permit, Resident or nonresident. They require any course to demonstrate firearm proficiency and said Utah does not require that. When I got my training for my Utah nonresident CC permit, they certainly did! Anyway just a heads up to keep you out of trouble.
  5. I am not a fan of some of the directions that Armalite is heading. As a subsidiary of a private company, it is hard to know if they are profitable, but I have found some of their decisions puzzling from a business standpoint, and from a standpoint of retaining customer loyalty. I am glad I got what I did when I did, and won"t be in the market for anything in the foreseeable future, as nothing in their product line really jumps out to me anymore, like the AT10T carbine and the National Match AR10 did.
  6. Glad to hear these success stories. Had to quit working out last year when my damaged back got worse, and I ballooned. Now time to get back to where I want to be now that my back surgery is behind me. Thanks for sharing guys, gives me some motivation. Have to dump some carbs and sugar, other than that my diet should be ok.
  7. Kickin Butt Boog, and showing us the way. ????
  8. Just a follow up to an old topic: Have Lula loaders now in three different sizes. They work great once you get the knack. Recommend them.
  9. Erie is a walleye factory. Just gotta keep the Asian Carp out of there.
  10. You obviously hang with a proper class of woman. Original AR15's and a motorcycle? Buy a lottery ticket while your luck holds.
  11. Back in the 70's when he was working at the Twin City Army Ammunition plant as an engineer, my father did work on the 30mm Round the A10's Cannon shoots. A bad ass cannon, for sure. Think it would rip up small Chinese gunboats harassing the fishing fleets pretty thoroughly if it came to that. This report kind of reminds me of that scene in "The Hunt for Red October" when 4 A10's buzzed the "Kirov" at low level. In today's world don't know how that would play out. SAM's are a lot more sophisticated now.

    New Toy

Have Jet Man add a powered exoskeleton, and some decent ordnance, and you have a prototype of the future soldier Robert Heinlein wrote about in "Starship Troopers" back in the 1950's

Those personal Jet Packs are flat ass beautiful crazy! 82 HALO can't blame you a bit. When those wing suits originally came out I remember watching a Warren Miller movie that had one in it. Why did all this cool stuff get invented when I was a senior citizen?
  14. Had an AWD charger for a company car with the 250 hp V6 back in 2008. Really enjoyed it for what it was. For a while, you could order the Charger R/T's with AWD and also the Chrysler 300's. Now you have to order the Police Pursuit package to get it. I was impressed with how it handled the snow way up north here. The Vette is a garage queen from November to April. Had a choice three years ago, Get a new Dodge Ram truck, or drive my old Ram into the ground and get the car I have wanted since I was a kid. The kid in me won out. Enjoy the heck out of it, but the kid is now saying how much more fun it would be with another 150 hp.
  15. Good luck to them, I have a nephew down in Arizona in a Christian Rock Band. He really enjoys it.
  16. Nice wheels! As the picture below shows, I went a different route. But I am looking at a Dodge Charger with the Police Pursuit package with AWD for a winter car. Got a rusted out 4wd Ram for the really bad days. Thinking about a supercharger to put me up around 500hp.
  17. You got a deal friend. What I might suggest is what another forum member did. He bought a second B model Armalite upper in a standard weight 16" barrel. He can interchange uppers depending on, in his case, what the mission is. Light and accurate, or heavier and very accurate out to 600+ meters. Gives him a lot of flexibility.
  18. That is a good round to start with. With that rifle, have your friend experiment with a "ladder". Adjust the powder load in very small increments up and down until you find the load that best fits that particular rifle. The SASS is capable of astounding accuracy, you just need to find what the individual rifle likes best for dinner, so to speak. Make sure he takes about 10% off any recommended load, however, just to have a safe starting point.
  19. Welcome. A good friend has one but hasn't got his ATF ok yet on the suppressor. The rifle itself is a fine piece of equipment, though a bit heavy. Are you looking for subsonic load data? Or just general load data? With that barrel, start out with something in the 165-175 grain range for standard loads.
  20. Thanks for the heads up, let her rip.
  21. William Shatner is in it? I think he died 10 years ago, but nobody bothered to tell him. Just like Keith Richards.
  22. Come to think of it..
  23. +1
  24. Situational awareness, can't preach it enough. Know who your enemy is before he realizes he is your enemy. Assess everyone in a room, or if it a crowded big room, everyone within 30 feet. Catalogue warning signs and if you assess the threat is real, start formulating a plan. If they know you have identified them, and are preparing or positioning yourself for what comes next, chances are they will pass. If not, when it starts, go on the attack, no rules, no holding back. Use whatever you have, and don't stop until the threat is completely eliminated. They are looking for something easy, not life threatening hard. If something comes down and my wife is with me, I have one secret advantage: I know I will fight to the death to protect her, they don't. Sisco's old guy rules to live by.
