Wolves have a bond within the pack unlike anything humans have. While I have only heard of one wolf attack that happened in Minnesota last year, it doesn't surprise me that they hung around. They had just lost an important member of their pack. Up in this area, if bear dogs get too close to a den with pups, the pack usually ends up killing the dog or dogs. Usually happens during spring season or summer during training. I have only only seen them singly or in pairs around here, and not close up on foot for the last 35 years. Interestingly just now I went out to feed my wood boiler about 8pm our time and I startled a coyote. Being that close in to our house in this harsh of winter makes me concerned about our dogs, whom aren't that big. I will be packing a 357 or 22 WM when I let them out the rest of this winter, and I won't be able to let them out by themselves. He didn't move off more than 150 feet. I could still see his eye reflections in my headlamp light.

They are a good food source. Very low in chemical contaminants. Probably will be developed for fish cakes, cat food, etc. eventually.

I am actually involved in the carp issue. They will make it to Michigan and Superior. Their native range includes Siberia. They like cold water. The grass carp actually comes from the Amir river between Siberia and China. There are four different kinds of Asian carp. Big Eye or Big Head, Silver, Amir (Grass) and Black. The first two eat algae, Amir eats vegetation, and Black Carp eat mollusks. Right now 85% of the fish in the Illinois River by weight are Asian Carp. This was done in ten years. The only thing that will stop it is an act of mother nature or God. Politics let the window of opportunity to stop them close. I am an avid Great Lakes fisherman and I will probably see the Lakes Change due to this in my lifetime. And I am 65.

I had to take 2 feet of heavy wet snow out of my 500 foot driveway last week and tonight it will get down to -19F so I will have to get up at 4 am and walk up the hill to fill the wood boiler to keep the house warm. We will hit 90 inches snow this next week for the year, and none of it has melted, since the winter has been so cold. Winter used to be fun, now its work. I for one am ready to leave it behind.

Update: Armalite responded to my email. They are continuing to sell B model rifles. They are just not in that catalogue for some reason.

The current Armalite online catalogue is showing only AR10 A models, the ones that use PMags, etc. No AR10 B models using Armalite Gen II proprietary magazines. I hope Armalite clarifies what is going on so us B model owners know the score.
