  1. ...dunno man... AZ is pretty much "anything goes" these days...
  2. Nice bike!! I really need to get one... miss riding them. I was practically on them 24 x 7 when I was in the army.... (try riding them with NVG's - now that's a trip!)
  3. ...and then you get some thug who is looking to steal some firearms so he can rob the place next door.... >:D
  4. Glad my wife isn't into shooting or else my gun budget will double!! LOL (then again considering she's from the south, I'm surprised she isn't....) -S
  5. $2/round? Where are you getting them from? Sportsman's Warehouse and Dicks (168gr only) have it for $27.99 ... I managed to build up a small stash of 175gr FGMM :) Also keep an eye out for Federal XM80C @ a little under $17 a box (yes under $1/round). Very consistent groups for cheapo factory ammo, and they seem to be turning up in spades everywhere (even Bass Pro) TBH, I'm surprised how consistent Federal ammo is... even the mid priced Federal American Eagles shoot consistent groups. -S
  6. OK FINE!!... edited per forum requirements....
  7. ...and so the discussion ends with me ending up poorer. BTW, Found tons of cheap 9mm (brass, not steel) in town. :D
  8. Stopped by ....so I go stumbling through the door of yet another LGS/gun pusher in Tempe today at lunch and saw this lightly used Sig SP2022 Tactical (2012-9mm). Got a good look and feel of the gun and fell in love with how it fit in my hand... much better than the XDm or the M&P....went back after work and picked it up. I'm now $400 poorer and I'm having to hide it from the wife for now.... [there - edited for the master enabler]
  9. hmm...maybe I should be considering a .45 since it seems like that's the easier round to find these days...
  10. Even better case scenario - give me a holler and I can make you a replacement pin.
  11. Thanks for the info... I think I'm in the wrong biz and should be making 1911's instead of aftermarket auto parts.:D
  12. You really don't want any extra heat. The heat generated in the electrolysis will be enough to mess you up so you don't want to add more to it.
  13. I've done anodizing at home with some CNC parts I made. My advice - don't do it indoors. I used battery acid, a battery charger (55 amps) and a sheet of aluminum for the cathode plate. The most important thing is keeping the temperature under control for the electrolyte (i.e. the acid solution). Once the temps start climbing it's hard to control the anodizing process and you'll notice that the stain won't take. Battery acid is around 50% and you have to dilute it 1:1 with water (distilled) to get the right concentration. -S
  14. I'm itching to buy a handgun.... question is what to get.... 9mm or .45ACP? (what ammo is easier to find when/if poop hits the fan) Budget: $600ish or less... Since conceal carry is not on the top of my requirements I've been looking at the following: Sig P250 FS - 9mm (just got a hands-on feel with one at Bass Pro... the trigger pull is like a mile long!! Feels really weird.) XDm-9 5.25 comp series XDm-9 FS S&W M&P9 Pro Series 5" S&W M&P9 Pro Series CORE 5" and of course....1911s... Auto Ordnance 1911 STI Spartan V Citadel 1911 (I've heard that this one is not that reliable) I'd rather pick up something that's made in the USA - that's keeping me from buying an XD.. or Glock for that matter. Anyway, I'm open to suggestions and recommendations :D Thoughts?
  15. ...and sell me them 20LR pmags. LOL.
  16. I hope you got the correct combination of buffer/spring/tube. The AR10 carbine tube is 3/4" longer than the DPMS pattern tube for the 308AR (i.e. same length as an M4 car tube). The AR10 car buffer is also 3/4" longer than the DPMS pattern 308ar buffer.
  17. I've been beside jeeps with the 106 mounted. That packs a punch. The 84mm CG was standard issue - I served in a foreign military (Singapore) as a recon in an armored unit 20+ years ago before I moved to the US. Like the 106, the 84 packs a hefty punch too, and we had "surplus ammo" days where we had to fire almost everything we have just to rotate the ammo stock - it was totally insane. Back then, we were running tons of US hand-me-downs, including refurbed ACAV M113's from 'Nam....
  18. Take it one step at a time: Try a mag with one (and only one) round in it. See how it feeds, shoot it and see if the bolt catch catches the BCG in the right place (i.e. the bolt face). Do it a few times to make sure it's consistent. Next, try two rounds in a mag... see if the rounds feed consecutively or if they jam. Again, repeat several times to make sure the issue isn't there. Then try 3, then 4 rounds per mag... As you go through this process you'll figure out where it's hanging up. That should give you a better idea what's causing the problem and make it easier to eliminate the issue. -S
  19. This could be an interesting thread .... I'll start.... M16A1 (yes, old school) M4 Carbine Ultimax 100 P226 FN-Mag GPMG (aka M240B) M203 Carl Gustav 84mm recoilless rifle (aka M3 MAAWS -- JOYGASM!!!) M2 Browning HMG Armbrust LAW AR308
  20. I guess that's gonna be difficult since nobody stands in front of an M113 flying down the dirt path trying to take pics.... :auto:
  21. Does the M2 HMG count as time with a .50 cal? ... if so I'm gonna "borrow" my buddy's Barrett. :D
  22. I'm not a big fan of textured float tubes (I like them smooth like a baby's bottom) but your Apex looks good, Seasprite.
  23. Could be an ejector/extractor combo issue. Do you have one (or two) of those nitron O-rings around the extractor spring?
  24. Handguards? Get a free float tube. :)
  25. Perhaps pics of the damaged brass would help?
