  1. Colt 901 series (LE901, SP901, XM901....). For the money, I'd rather buy 2 separate AR's, one .308 and one 5.56. That means two people can shoot at the same time, or if you decide to unleash the inner Rambo in you, one in each hand. P.S. Welcome to the board!!
  2. Maybe if someone else was armed at that time, the outcome would have been different....
  3. http://touch.latimes.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-78014445/
  4. Yet another "assault rifle" shooting going on right now.....anyone following?
  5. ......glad that's over. Trick or treating with 4 kids was insane especially when they had 7 other friends tagging along.
  6. Welcome from AZ!
  7. Indeed. Big fight going in in Florence, AZ between Curis and the City
  8. Ugh... sounds like what Curis is doing in florence, AZ - injecting sulphuric acid after hydrofacturing the ground (i.e. fracking) and dissolving the copper (copper sulphate solution), pump it out and then extract via electrolysis. There's a lot of talk about potential pollution of the groundwater using this method... hard call to make, but doing this with lead could be risky too.
  9. Dunno, but there's a guy in Casa Grande/Arizona City selling one for 695 with a bunch of accessories included. Is that one of you guys?
  10. I liked the ACS/ACS-L. It's a really nice stock but I sold it when I switched to the PRS stock.
  11. Hard to say... lead is essential in a lot of industries, especially in the renewable energy stuff (i.e. for storage batteries). Them lithium based batteries all have other complications, especially when it comes to high capacity energy storage. Considering the amount of pollution put out by the plants, I'm amazed that they can't keep that under control with today's improved technology. My guess is that there will be a push for more lead recycling, and perhaps a new plant with improved pollution control measures. Time to stock up on used car batteries? Sell them for a profit later! LOL
  12. Eh? what did I do? I haven't even started reloading my own stuff. LOL ....I give my brass to a buddy who does reloads and in exchange I get reloads back. HAHA. -S
  13. Yes
  14. Thx for the clarification. :D ....already found a springfield M1A (std 22") for under $1k...just gotta cough up the cash..LOL That would be a good starting point I think.
  15. Ding ding. That's one good looking M1A ....Considering I have my own CNC machines and also do carbon fiber composite work, I'll probably make my own version. :D
  16. I don't think I'd sink a lot into it... I'd get a basic M1A/M14 and CNC an EBR-type frame/stock for it . So much for steel/wood... probably going to end up aluminum + carbon fiber.
  17. I had the opportunity to futz with the UTS-15 when I stumbled into the LGS. Felt too light to be real... generally flimsy feel. Wasn't surprised that throwing shoes are more effective than that POS. It still looked cool though.
  18. Somehow this makes me glad I'm lactose intolerant...lol
  19. Welcome from AZ! BTW, get the 18" or 20"... the 24" is just unwieldy
  20. Nice job! Wish I had the time to do reloads....
  21. UTAS15? Not the "most reliable" but cool.... Or KSG?
  22. Everything is costing more and we're all making the same, if not less. This is BS.
  23. +1 on the heavy buffer. Much much smoother operation and less of that violent recoil associated with the 308.
  24. No more lead so we get steel (i.e. magnetic). Has anyone done target penetration and/or barrel wear tests with the XM80C? Wondering if it penetrates like it's 5.56 brethren or kill our barrels faster.....
  25. Don't get me wrong. The XM80C is a great and reliable round. My personal preference and rifle setup for long range targets is the 175gr SMK - that's why I'm looking for other options beside the FGMM's. There may be some relation between the lead smelter shutting down and the shortage of ammo, but the XM80C is a steel core round like the XM855 (5.56/.223 rounds). Maybe that's why we're seeing them all over the place.
