  1. Seen it firsthand at my Sig dealer. Gimmicky IMO.
  2. BRILLIANT! I'd love to see that this next halloween. <munch>
  3. Because the new DPMS height is what it is - NEW. That means you're limited on choice for forends since there are more of them out there that conform to the older standard. There's not much incentive to make accessories for the lo-pro either since there are way more high profile uppers from DPMS and everyone else that are currently being used and manufactured. ...and now there's the NEW(est) GII platform too, my guess is the low profiles will die a natural death soon, especially if DPMS abandons their older pattern.
  4. Oooh,, wonder if my sig guy is "participating"... got till April :D - tax refund time!
  5. Dang... for $5,000 you could buy a 50 cal. :D
  6. Only DPMS makes the 308 low profile receivers (1/16" lower). Everyone else making the "DPMS Pattern" 308 uppers has them at the standard height.
  7. Welcome from AZ!
  8. Where'd you get the MOE+ grip from? My regular source (Amazon) has suddenly dried up!
  9. For $100 or so more you can get this FFP 1-4 scope which is awesome for the price! Works great as a red dot AND a short range scope.
  10. Already ordered 10 lbs. Gonna see how it does on my 9mm cartridges.
  11. I found another source - Jeweller's SS tumbling media. Mix of pins, shot, slash-cut diagonals which should work better for vibratory tumblers (that's the only types I got). Gonna try it and see if it works the same. If it doesn't work, I'll just dump it in my industrial vibratory tumbler and use it for our CNC crap. http://www.ebay.com/itm/TUMBLER-MEDIA-JEWLERS-MIX-4-SHAPES-TUMBLING-SHOT-TYPE-302-STAINLESS-STEEL-5-LB/221043953250
  12. Looks good. Gonna try SS media shortly.
  13. Cerakote wins... friend is supposed to be dropping off the oven etc at the shop this weekend. :D
  14. Perhaps time to stop masturbating 12 times a day! <lmao>
  15. Me want sum. ... CNC machines - CHECK! Reloading Press - CHECK! Powder - CHECK! Primers - CHECK I'm halfway there. WOOT! :D
  16. Where do you get that "Mountain Lightning"!!! I WANT SOME! <laughs>
  17. I'm doing 42.5gr of IMR4064 with 175gr Sierra HPBT. This is the identical recipe for FGMM 175gr and when loaded carefully it gives very consistent results. For 168gr you should be able to up the load by about 1/2 grain. I'm pretty much following the Hogdon data from their site and comparing to the Sierra 308 load map and adjusting from there. Can't be that far off especially if it's the manufacturer of the powder. Load IMR4064-308.pdf
  18. What powders? I ended up being about 1gr-1.5gr over the minimum Hogdon data for accuracy loads. Check out http://data.hogdon.com Also the attachment I added may help. load map sierra 308.pdf
  19. Photos pls. :D
  20. The conventional thought is the mil-spec brass has thicker walls and hence lower volumetric capacity, thus requiring less powder so pressures don't get excessively high (smaller case volume + same charge = higher pressure). I've safely loaded mil-spec (LC especially) with standard loads and they shoot well, with no signs of overpressure. YMMV Honestly, I don't think they are that much different, volume-wise.
  21. It's almost always a white guitar. It's usually "EVO" - a beat-up Jem 7VWH.
  22. Yup, that's like a dead blow hammer. Go futz around at an Ace Hardware and look at the Nupla deadblow hammers (flourescent orange - cant miss them) and they use moving steel shot inside the head to deaden the bounce.
  23. Mike, I think you'll like these - autographed by the man himself. ...and this was my rig a few years back. I've cut it down to KISS but the stuff is now in their flight cases in the basement.
  24. You can look it up on a couple data charts....
  25. Yes, the standard AR buffer tube will work. Take note that there is also an "Armalite AR-10-length" buffer tube in both carbine and rifle lengths. These are about 3/4" longer than their standard counterparts. After selecting which tube you're going with, make sure to get the correct buffer and buffer spring to match the tube.
