  1. What we have here is a very tough audience. :auto:
  2. mmm My story with the PRS: With the long screw installed it would not allow the bolt carrier to come back far enough for the bolt catch to work properly and would not allow the bolt carrier to come back far enough to pick up the next round so I cut 5/8" off of the screw. The bolt carrier will latch properly now. I have not function tested to see if it will pick up the next round as of yet, but it should. thanks for the reply
  3. What would happen if you had the prs, did not use the spacer and cut the buttstock screw 5/8'' shorter?
  4. Glad to see it worked out. Post like this are good to see. Wish there was a thread devoted specifically for troubleshooting. Thanks for the report.
  5. It's been awhile and since I did not see any pictures of melted goo, I must ask: Did it work? ^-^
  6. Not only shoots well but is also pleasing to the eye. Well done. Was the .5 MOA shot with handloads?
  7. What is a G3?A fraction more in lenth. Can you be more specific as to how much more?
  8. Perhaps a trigger upgrade, two stage?
  9. Not sure about the cheapest but check out botach.com You can make a counter offer to there list price. A couple of months ago I picked up a G2S for 125.00.
  10. My vote: 44gr.
  11. IBefore you go out further I would at least chrony the loads to find out the velocity and deviation, as it may come into play, depending on how far out you plan to shoot. IMO
  12. Nice job on the build. The stock looks perfect.
  13. You may want to check with Apachegunworks.
  14. So in that case, what would you do ?
  15. Check out the Sightron 2.5x17.5 -56
  16. You may want to look into an adjustable gas block.
  17. I was going to buy their lower to go with my tactical machining lower but guess now I should spend the extra money and buy the tactical machining upper to match, unless someone has any other suggestions. Thanks to all for their contributions to this thread. Well, almost all. :binkybaby: <thumbsup>
  18. So why not just buy a bolt from them and have it headspaced to thier barrel? Just asking. ^-^
  19. I bought a barrel from them this past summer along with a bolt from them which they headspaced. Why do they no longer offer that service? Sorry about your misfortune.
  20. I am sure there are good and not so good reviews on all of those barrels. I have a Rainier Match. I would go with the 18" rifle with the adjustable gas block.(fine tuning never hurts) What you are going to get for that extra 150.00? Better accuracy if you are benchrest shooting, maybe, but I have my doubts. IMJO
  21. Very clean, nice work. IMO
  22. Which manufacture made your lower? There are several. I know of Quentin and Tactical Machining and their measurements on the blueprints are not exact which could throw off the placement of your firecontrol group. At least that is a problem I had.
  23. Well done. Time it get some heavier gr loads and reach out.
