  1. As much as I like buying from SAA, Lanbo's offers a better price on Magpul, you have to add the item to the cart to see the deal! - They are out of stock on a lot of items at the moment but, they seem to have a high turnover rate, they restock frequently and I like their $10.00 flat rate shipping <thumbsup> http://lanbosarmory.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=107&products_id=974
  2. Forgot to mention that these guys were real geniuses - doing a home invasion robbery while on probation and wearing an ankle monitor - absolutely brilliant!!
  3. Quote: "This is in the PRC so they already violated many laws by just having an AR like that, we'll see if the feds get involved in the charges, then it may be an issue." Actually I just bought and registered one of these late last year: http://www.diamondbackfirearms.com/product?id=66 They were offering a special california version that came with a bullet button and a plastic block stuck in the mag well - that allowed it to qualify for the Single Shot Exemption and be registered as a single shot pistol then of course it was returned to semi auto config and that's that - legal! <thumbsup> Now, since the 1st of Jan to qualify for the SSE the weapon has to be originally manufactured as a single shot and I think (could be wrong) it has to be a bolt action break barrel config also.
  4. Then there's this: https://www.turlockcitynews.com/crime/item/4515-ceres-swat-aids-in-the-arrest-of-three-for-turlock-home-invasion 1st time I've read about one used in a crime and the authorities are charging them with an SBR AND an illegal assault rifle - this could be a significant turn for the worse with regards to the Sig brace.
  5. Glow in the dark polymer tip - cool! <thumbsup> Hell, we might even get to use them here in california!
  6. Those pics don't look like any NiB that I've ever seen - looks more like the Nitride finish SAA uses on this model: http://www.surplusammo.com/saa-m16-complete-nitride-bolt-carrier-group-223-5-56/ Incidentally I'm pretty certain that Aero makes the house brand uppers and lowers for SAA and may also make this BCG.
  7. They are mistakenly referring to it as an AR10 BCG but, we know better ::) http://aresarmor.com/store/Item/ar10_bcg_nickel_boron?utm_content=guruofhotrod%40yahoo.com&utm_source=VerticalResponse&utm_medium=Email&utm_term=&utm_campaign=Nickel%20Boron%20%28NiB%29%20AR10%20BCG%27scontent
  8. Here ya go:
  9. BHW offers an 18" with a rifle length gas system, just ask them if they can supply it to you cut down to 16"?
  10. My bet would be on .750" - Can't help but wonder who's doing their website? A detailed description would would certainly help improve sales - nobody likes to gamble on specs when it comes to buying this kind of stuff, it's hard enough to choose parts that will work together without going in blind!
  11. The mystery has been solved - mid length gas system! http://shadowopsweaponry.com/308-18-762-nato308-ar-barrel
  12. Where is Easy EJL when you need him? As a side note, I did finally receive my Shadow Ops BCG and it looks beautiful! One of the owners of the company I work for ordered a BCG from them and received it right away so, they are getting things under control <thumbsup>
  13. I know what you mean brother, I bought a $125.00 308 billet upper and was very impressed! <thumbsup>
  14. Well, as I understand it, they did get their stuff back - they can't do anything with them unless they can get a Judge to rule them not to be defined as a "firearm" or they are serial numbered and marked per ATF requirements - I think they got the servers back some time ago but, I'm sure they (the ATF) copied the customer database and other business related files. What a mess!!! http://aresarmor.com/store/media/cms/xmodnewsrss/10300808_972357789460452_208480619042027732_n.jpg
  15. I just measured a couple of CCI #200 - came up with .2105" on my trusty Mitutoyo Digimatic caliper. Did they have a Mil type crimp on them? If so, did you ream them or swage them?
  16. Here's a link to them: http://www.jprifles.com/1.4.8.3_spring.php
  17. This link may be of help: http://www.klstottlemyer.com/klstottlemyer.com/Prints_drawing_etc.html
  18. I got a message that said "forum migration" this morning - not sure what's up?
  19. Yea, just got one, hit refresh and the page reloaded fine.
  20. Sweeeeet! Now if I can figure how to make a bullet button setup to comply with the ridiculous California BS I would have that on my must have list!
  21. I've run across this situation, on some DPMS type carriers where there is a relief cut behind the bore that the gas rings ride in - if, when assembling the bolt into the carrier, you push the bolt in too far (past where the cam pin would allow) the gas rings will expand into the relieved area, retaining the bolt deeper than where it would normally reside. When that happens, you typically can't install the cam pin and the remedy is to physically drive the bolt free which normally destroys the gas rings
  22. Merry Christmas everyone - wish you all the best!
  23. LOL! I've bought several barrels from them and have a few of those uppers, funny thing is if you happen to buy a BHW barrel from SAA to go with your "free" upper you'll get another "free" upper thus starting a viscous cycle! - Geez this could go on forever!
  24. Looks decent, Slick side, appears to be DPMS low rail height : http://quentin-laser.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=331
  25. There's always this: $ .50 a round and Brass!!! There you go!
