  1. I have a Rock River Coyote Carbine upper in 6.8. Runs flawless on my RRA 5.56 lower. Accurate too. Carbine 16" barrel, Rifle 20" barrel.
  2. Craftsman. Had it for over 30 years.
  3. Came across this today. Thought everyone might be interested. Suppressor.pdf
  4. That is one FINE looking pistol. Great job.
  5. I was hoping I wouldn't have to deal with the barrel nut, just do a swap. Don't have a clue what I want at this point, I just want something lighter. I'm not big on quad rails. I have a 6.8 Coyote Carbine with just a round (I think it is a Hogue) free float tube that is way lighter than that one. I'll just add it to the list of things I need for these rifles. Damn this hobby (addiction) is getting expensive.
  6. 98, what size should the gas port be? .308, i haven't tried supersonics yet. I didn't have time the day I was at the range. Next time. COAL on that load is 2.260"
  7. I saw that story. The fact that they are so tight lipped about it worries me. ^^^^^^^^^^^
  8. This is a 5.56. The grip portion is about a 1/4" thick at the bottom.
  9. I just ate and your still making me hungry. :))
  10. I'm just East of Dallas. We didn't get that much, but it was enough to stay home from work. Nothing that important enough at work worth risking a trip to the body shop. Besides, nowadays, I can do half of my work from home if need be.
  11. There are a lot of good scopes in that price range. If you like the Viper PST, stick with it, That way you don't have to get used to a different scope.
  12. Good save. No real man would let a little ice and sleet get between him and his smoker! <thumbsup>
  13. I have a Rock River Operator with the Half-Quad tube. The thing weighs a ton! Is Rock Rivers barrel nut for the tube proprietary? Is there something else out there that will fit it?
  14. Update. Second trip to the range with just the BCG wet still produced a single shot rifle. It would either not eject and jam or not strip off the next round. Following everyone's advice, I took one weight out of the buffer and replaced it with a piece of wood dowel rod. Worked almost flawless with my subsonic reloads. Still had one jam. I think it just needs more range time. Reloads were 208 gn Hornady A-Max over 11 gns of IMR 4198. Here's the ballistic data for two 10 shot groups Group 1 Group 3 Max 1148 fps 1147 fps Min 1089 fps 1008 fps S-D 31 39 ES 93 139 I didn't measure each load, just set the powder measure and loaded the rounds. I did check the weights a couple of times and make adjustments to make sure they were on target. Here are the results, 50 yards with a red dot and 3X magnifier. Group on the left was bore sighted, and center group is after adjustment.
  15. Congrats!!!!! 48 is in my rearview mirror. Haven't you heard 50 is the new 40 and 40 is the new 30. Your still a young'un!
  16. Picked up a Primary Arms 1-6X scope and a set of QD rings. Got it mounted but still need to bore sight and sight in.
  17. If you want to comment to the ATF, here is a pre-written letter and the email address for the ATF. http://blog.cheaperthandirt.com/3-ways-stop-2235-56-m855-ammunition-ban/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=social&utm_content=chronicle0221&utm_campaign=20150221-3waystostopthe223m855ban
  18. Sorry, been busy. Mine is a carbine buffer.
  19. Everyone who has chimed in is far more knowledgeable about these systems than I am but no one has mentioned lightening the weight of the buffer. I had similar issues with mine. Sometimes it would cycle but most times not. I was advised to take a weight out of the buffer. I replaced one weight with a piece of wood dowel. Shot it at the range today and it ran great.
  20. I'll stick with my Magnetospeed. I carry enough gear to the range without having to carry a tripod and accessories. It is also easier on the pocketbook.
  21. ^^^^^^^^^^ I bought my Phantom Titanium QD (like it a lot) from them. It was a great deal. Had it in about 5 months.
  22. I've always liked Bushnell, I have a 4200 4-16X40 on my 7 mag. and love it.
  23. I paid less than $400 for mine. There are lots of models under $300. And most of them are stainless steel not plastic
  24. Citizen Eco-Drive. Never needs batteries. I've had mine for over 10 years and the only thing I've replaced is the crystal. I did have to repair a bent stem. They come in all shapes and sizes from chronographs to dress watches. Every time I look for a watch to replace it, I can't find anything I like better. End of the world = no batteries.
  25. I'm in on the Magnetospeed. Love mine. <thumbsup> Fits on the end of the barrel. True muzzle velocity. Also, easy to use at a gun range. Downside is it is more expensive than a traditional chronograph. AND it fits everything from my tapered bolt gun barrels to my Phantom suppressor.
