  1. I agree Belt, gentlemen rule, thank you for sure.
  2. Al if you want it go ahead, my pleasure. I have four barrels sitting on my bench. Let me know how to proceed.
  3. I'm fighting the feeling, it is a great deal. Ah fugget, I'll take it. PM to follow
  4. I am impressed. I stand by my comment and will not be swayed. Thank you for all the attention you've paid my post.
  5. Yep, I am a Bambi lover, a horsey lover, a tree hugger, a real softy kind of guy.
  6. Only my opinion, but that ain't funny. ^^^
  7. That's a classy move right there. Sharing some information like many others on 308ar.com do, is one of the things that separates this site from others. I'm glad to be here.
  8. Right on, I don't think the Elk will know and or care, or the hog, deer, or target. 65b it is.
  9. I'm not that picky on the lengths, but I've read somewhere 21.75" is the ideal length. It could have been written by someone stocking 21.75" length barrels. For me, I chose a 22". Why? I didn't want 26" or a 24". I thought a perfect balance would be in the 22" area. Time will tell. I don't think you can get better info scouring the entire web than you can find right here. Upon examining many posts here and elsewhere I notice many folks do not have one blemish on their rifles. It's as if they were going to make a mobile to hang over the baby's crib. Perhaps hang them from their bedroom ceilings alongside their WWII Dauntlesses. Anytime you get a shooter and can save money because the horrid blem, do so. Cosmetically speaking of course, bent barrel blems are still a no no.. If the blem is bad enough and really shows up well, beat the snot out of the rest of the rifle and sell it as retro. Big money in retro. Yes, I've seen purposely beat up looking ceracoated rifles at a premium. Go figure. Can you visit other sites, shoot a .260, be ignorant of rule 65b, and still post here?
  10. No one is walking away with it, that's for sure.
  11. Terrific thread, I enjoyed reading it, there were both family ties and some quick humor. A good old fashioned story was enjoyed by me. Now if I could only have read it while sitting on the pictured chair. That chair, the Broyhill Tired Cowboy Refresher, model 4995Z, is discontinued at present but is seriously being considered for an update. The 24x28 seat with extreme padded armrests assures comfort for most all folks. The smooth easy back rest has remained untufted for an especially comforting feel, and most enjoyed by any silverbacks who may venture into it's inviting grasp. A quick nap is guaranteed within 15 minutes of use. Sorry COBrien, if I were smart enough to answer your questions I would have. Adding BS to most any post is my forte, please consider my addition an 'INTERMISSION', while you folks get back to fixin'.
  12. He made me a sling for my pup, well a leash anyhow just don't tell my pup. He likes to walk singing cadence, ruff two three four.
  13. I guess my wife is right and gee whiz, yep gee whiz, Mom was right as well, I'm a slob. Just when I thought I was an OK guy hangin with the " Men " all this neatness showed up. Woe is me. I'll go and clean my room now Ma.
  14. Pity the folks who don't know how good fresh caught fish is. I'm going to sleep before I dig out some meat and get busy.
  15. Must run for cover, must run for cover, 2 more barrels coming, 7 left.
  16. Arms outstretched in front of body, parallel to the floor, palms down, he mumbled. " Must get barrel, me need barrel, must get barrel. No use for it, but everybody is doing it. Must get barrel." Three times I was sleep walking last week, 3 barrels and counting.
  17. How much spin, or turn should the bolt move ? Mine does a 1/4 turn. Does the empty hole make a difference? My 6.5cm barrel has neither a hole or pin, it does have the index pin. Never mind, my 6.5cm lets the bolt rotate 360.
  18. Even though I'm not a fan, they have their place. Some guys won't clean their guns, perhaps a simple way will allow them to get some cleaning in.
  19. “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” @Boot_Scraper Every man in the LGS turned and looked at me when I picked that lower up.
  20. I have so many small parts coming in from different sites I'm lost. I should keep a written list. In the mail, 308 lower parts that don't jive with the 223 LPK.
  21. I read our laws ( Fla. ) and I think most folks think that if a busy body gets even a peek at your ccw, you're in trouble. The law talks about brandishing your gun in an aggressive manner. Check your own gun laws, this isn't lawyer advice, just trying to calm down the skittish. There is a huge responsibility carrying, be safe and careful, no sense in being overly scared of your weapon peeping out once in awhile.
  22. Not a fan, I use them on the range for a quickie. There's only so many quickies you can get away with. Right ?
  23. Great idea, simple solutions to complex problems, genius.
  24. Even your current post number is neat 6,666
