  1. Before I entered this wonderful site I bought a PA-10 lower, then ordered an upper. Because I wanted to know more about the 308 I found this haven. OMG I smell the bull shite also, haven my patoot. Anyway I put the rig together at the range. I had the complement of buffers, springs and other parts ready to fix the challenges that arose. BTW I did get a 7" inner length buffer tube. I shot the 308, brass flew at 4 o'clock into a trash bucket the range had behind me. Every shot had the brass eject into that bucket. No, not every one, if I changed position they flew close to the bucket. Was I a lucky recipient of a PSA mistake, building an accurate and correct rifle? Maybe. Do I believe PSA has a bunch of lesser built rifles? Perhaps. I will not take a position on this other than say what my experience was. I have the 1095, I have the Heavy Buffer buffer, cryogenic ejector springs, anatomy lube and torture table. Once more, what's a guy do for $700?
  2. What's a guy do for $700?
  3. Hold on a bit, we're not here to disparage huge concerns that may one day rectify issues. Some concerns are arming half the country, to me that's a big positive. If folks have issues, there are mighty smart, intelligent, and caring manufacturers, gunsmiths, and masters of the rifle right here and available to us for free. You can find a gold mine of info here, beware of the belligerent, dust snorting, hot breath, dragon ass beasts that appear. They will knock you off your journey if you are faint of heart. ( HINT ) Rub their tummies and they calm down, listen for the rumble that's where the best is located. Brother, 700 will go to 8 or 9 quick. You're already ready for rifle #2. Look at the 458 socom.
  4. Amen again. @Cliff R My Dad served Merchant during the war as well. Glad they both came home. God Bless your pop. I agree with everything you wrote. My Dad was a bit more revealing in the wartime story era. Malta was the horror show. Murmansk another tough go. D-Day, my Dad said it was so full of ships you could almost walk to shore on them. Of course that's a bit of poetic license, but he was there and very silently proud of his deeds. He loved deep sea fishing and would tell me about the Wolf Packs and how they were defenseless against them. It was a crap shoot if you made it or not. They were heroes for sure.
  5. Welcome Sgt, these folks here are the masters of class regarding 308.
  6. Thank you all for posting, it's important and always will be. @98Z5V I recently saw that video thank you for posting it. That man, were he alive today, would report to duty if called upon. Being one of the millions of baby boomers I have a pocketful of WWII stories from Vets. One fellow was a friend of my dad's. I grew up on The Lower East Side of NYC and was dragged as a child to every bar in town on a regular basis. I always went home with silver coins and pennies the boys would give me. A man named Snootchie toys this story. He was a Veteran of WWI, and one day received a message to report for duty for WWII. He showed up and once they were all called to fall in, the SGT came upon him and asked 'What are you doing here ?" Snootchie answered , " I received notice." Snootchie was 51 years old at the time. Asked to leave he replied, " Why don't you send all these youngsters home and get all us old Bastards here." Go figure.
  7. Thanks Magwa, I always forget to shoot at the same spot. DUH !
  8. To all you folks that made it home and have big families and enjoy their lives to the best they can, thanks. To all my brothers and sisters that served please note I placed no qualifiers, exceptions, or any other minutia. They just serve to confuse, IMO, please enjoy this day. Although I miss the camaraderie, I know what it meant and that's enough for today. God Bless.
  9. Congrats for sure.
  10. Non adjustable comb, merely some texturing. Anyway for a likely win it's a terrific stock. ( positive affirmation for ya! )
  11. Best of Luck Matt, that rifle is a beast. Is that an adjustable comb? Wild looking stock.
  12. Done, good luck all!!!
  13. Great folks at the number listed above, I'll be calling Monday for the same kit.
  14. Welcome from er, well uh, Florida. Hey cuz!
  15. Taking the scope out tomorrow Sunday and using it. We'll see if the sun ruins the finish.

  18. How difficult would it be for the Army to consider 260?
  19. Older thread wake up call. I finally did as Konus suggested. I taped all the parts I didn't want to spray. I used Rustoleum matte clear 2x ultra cover and it worked like a charm. The stickiness is gone and the scope body feels like new.
  20. Prayers sent. Get well soon.
  21. Welcome buddy. I would love to see some Huey photos from your trip, and some shots from above.
