Some of us shoot left handed even though we are right handed because of eye dominance. I am very right handed but am left eye dominant, so shooting rifles with open sights must be done left handed and there is little sense to change muscle patterns when using a scope. With a pistol it is simple to just close the right eye and shoot a pistol right handed. All that said, My ARs are right handed because it really makes no difference. My bolt action and shotguns are left handed and I shoot all rifles left handed. Buds has a left handed section as do some others if you have an interest in left handed guns. Ruger, Savage, Remington, Ithaca all make left handed models of some of their rifles.

Perhaps but PSU did beat OSU. Lost to Michigan but early in the year. Not that important as PSU only has 4 seniors starting so we are looking forward to the next couple of years!

Howdy from the Texas side of the borders and thank you for your service. I have two Faxon barrels (18" 308 and 16" 556) and they are both great shooters.

No, I did not use a high pressure bolt. My barrel is a Ballistic Advantage, 18" heavy profile with a mid-length gas system (the gas block journal is 0.875 so be careful) . The barrel itself is 61.5 oz or 3.8 lbs. I haven't had any issues, it has fired every time, ejected, loaded and locked back as it is supposed to with a regular 308 spring and buffer.

I agree. The 6.5 Creedmore that I built with an 18" heavy barrel is over 10 lbs with scope, even with a polymer lower. It shoots fine but taking it hunting in the field really requires a shooting stick or kneeling for longer shots. For paper or steel at 500 yards plus from a bench it is consistently in the center.

Lived in Evergreen Colorado for a decade. The floor elevation of our house was at 8,500 feet and 30 below was almost shorts weather. Agreed though that as I get older (69 doesn't feel old as yet) I prefer a little more temperate climate, but I still wear shorts and a tee shirt with temperatures in the 40s and am quite comfortable.

If you start out with an 80% lower you never have to worry about polishing the trigger. You simply have to polish the fire control pocket!

Correct, both Brewster and Jeff Davis counties (Alpine and Fort Davis) were red but Marfa is in Presidio County (where Scalia died) was blue by a couple of votes.

If you like mountains, try the area around Alpine - Marfa - Fort Davis. This is an area about 3 to 3.5 hours east of El Paso and about the same west of San Antonio. Elevations are around 5,000-feet with mountains around in the 7,000 to 7,500 range. The area is a bit greener and more heavily wooded, particularly north of Alpine, than most of west Texas.
