  1. No doubt he adopted the Chamberlain approach to appeasing the Clinton era anti-gun madness, its a shame in those years in an ill advised attempt to save a little of his company, he lost so much of his legacy. Nonetheless what legendary designs he did give the world when he was in his right mind!
  2. Funny, that shop is located in Bernal Heights, its an up and coming neighborhood these days but years ago not so much, and there were more guns in just the homes surrounding the shop than in the shop itself. Ha. I remember 10 yrs or so ago they tried some proposition that would have banned handguns altogether in SF, the NRA squashed that one, why this and similarly unlawful anti 2A nonsense is being tolerated I don't know, like WA passing I-594, Seattle isolating gun related businesses, and this BS in SF. SF is a beautiful city, one of our favorite big cities to visit (carrying concealed of course), we have a lot of friends who live there and are just as disgusted as we are with the draconian group of un-American reprobates who officiate things in that town. Truth is I get the sense its just a matter of time for those old progressive establishment folks, the younger up and comers are libertarian types who are playing more and more of a role and are far less interested in the libtard politics of the bare assed Castro-ites, 60's-70's era commies, or utopia minded progressives. Wouldn't be a bit surprised if there is a reversal of fortune of sorts in SF over the next 20-30 years. Heaven knows they need one!
  3. I don't know about dismissing all the other great triggers out there, but the Huber is supposed to be just awesome. I would like to try one.
  4. John Boehner, House Speaker, Will Resign From Congress(Link feature seems to be inop) http://www.nytimes.com/2015/09/26/us/john-boehner-to-resign-from-congress.html AMEN!
  5. Ya its probably a little to fancy for what I have in mind anyway, just wanted to make sure I wasn't passing up on a gem. Thx fellas.
  6. Ya probably a poor analogy, looks great.
  7. Gents, As we are all aware an "SPR" is chambered in 5.56. (Mk 262 OTM/77gr SMK's/Noslers) There are various other specifications to consider however if you wouldn't mind I would like to hear what your principle definitions of an SPR are aside from caliber. I am/was under the impression that the term SPR had become ubiquitous, almost like the word kleenex, in that it represented in general terms a precision gas rifle with a flat top receiver, BUIS, a optic, bi-pod, fixed stock, 18"+ threaded barrel, MB or suppressor, etc. I know it is used in that regard in my AO, not in a technically historical definition, but rather in a general platform application sense, perhaps wrongly so. What say you? Thanks in advance for the feedback! -GG
  8. Will do, sorry for the confusion.
  9. SPR (In a .308AR format)Flat top receiver18" (or longer) free floated threaded barrel & handguardFixed butt stock (I have a PRS)BUIS (He will have something I assume, I have Troys)Optic (He will have an optic, mine is yet TBD)Bi-podSuppressor (He has a MB, I will run a can) (Another reason I liked the LMT bolt)Maybe it was a bad comparison, just how I related to it. Thank you for the clarification 98, hope my explanation makes some sense. -GG
  10. Hey guys, I have a opportunity to buy this barrel for $250: Its a Black Hole Weaponry barrel chambered in .260, 50 rounds through it total. It is 24" in length and has spiral fluting in from gas block on as well as threaded end. I have had difficulty determining what to chamber this gal in, but being a LR bolt guy before my coming over to experiment in the gas side of things, maybe a .260 makes some sense. I reload and have tons of once fired .308 brass. I initially though 338 Fed, and have since been thinking 6.5 creed which might be a better choice for a gas magazine fed gun as opposed to the .260...? errrr. What say you?
  11. Good looking rifle, that is the SPR sort of set up I am working towards on my maiden 308AR build. ;-) Well done!
  12. Spoke with Van today to confirm the details of my order, that went perfectly, and one other thing I can confirm today is that Van is indeed the man! ;-) Great guy!
  13. Bill Ruger has a big smile on his face up there somewhere... they hit a home run with this one!
  14. Just bought one of these for this current 308AR build, look forward to receiving it!
  15. Welcome aboard, from Idaho.
  16. Week 2. 1-1 Looks like another exciting, schizophrenic, fun filled season of NFL football ahead for us lifelong Charger fans...
  17. A World War II pilot is reminiscing before school children about his flying days during the war. "In 1942," he says, "the situation was really tough. The Germans had a very strong air force. I remember, " he continues, "one day I was protecting the bombers and suddenly, out of the clouds, these fokkers appeared. At this point, several of the children giggle. I looked up, and right above me was one of them. I aimed at him and shot him down. They were swarming. I immediately realized that there was another fokker behind me." At this instant the girls in the auditorium start to giggle and boys start to laugh. The teacher stands up and says, "I think I should point out that 'Fokker' was the name of the German-Dutch aircraft company" "That's true," says the pilot, "but these fokkers were flying Messerschmidt's."
  18. Nice looking rig Sisco. I have an 1984 Lund 16' that is good for fishing and duck hunting, pulling the kiddo's around on the lake, its as solid as the day it was built, take good care of them and they last forever, hell ya beat on em and they last forever...love it! I was watching Port Protection the other night and was surprised to see almost every boat on that show was an old Lund.
  19. We just had our Chinook Tournament and this guy caught a 28lbs 36" monster!
  20. I bought my 308 PRS version in FDE for $182 + $8.99 flat rate shipping. Seem to be in the $240-$255 range everywhere else.

    Debate

Got it Tom. Its sort of like how its totally fu*king uncalled for and unacceptable obscene behavior for someone to go off half cocked and act like a complete a$$hole just because they don't like the way a thread went. Maybe spend less time pounding your chest in public and go take a Dale Carnegie class for fu*k sakes.
  22. Ok, I read the thread again. Jesus Tom, I just don't see anywhere there that I was particularly out of line. I posted a concise list of my opinions as the OP requested, and sure my opinion differed from some others, but that's what makes an opinion an opinion, then generally speaking I just commented when commented directly to, or having been quoted in a reply. The thread with Blue was a branch off from and a continuation of the MrRaley thread. Anyway, geeze, I'm not sure what else to say. I certainly wasn't trying to create any animosity or become a problem, I feel like I had made some good connections with PPL here and was on good terms with everyone, I was simply trying to participate on the site where I felt I could, and genuinely wanted to learn how to avoid mistakes on my 308AR build along the way. Sounds though like you feel I am not creating a benefit here, and I sure as fu*k don't want to feel like I have to tip-toe around and not be who I am just to avoid having some 2000 lbs gorilla jump down my a$$, so given that fact I will just apologize and take my leave here and get involved elsewhere. Good luck getting that sniper Tom. Adios
  23. Excuse me... WTF? Tom that was a joke. Blue and I were horsing around with one another, I even PM'd him to let him know I appreciated his input and make sure it was just in good fun, and he indicated for me to relax and enjoy, that it makes the place more interesting, and how he is a professional troll anyway or something to that effect, and so we were just laughing it off and having a little fun in the midst of an opinionated thread. The exemption notice was a part of all that and was certainly tongue in cheek Tom, of course I was referring to him, he knew it, I knew it, we all did, hence it being made in a lighthearted manner. Aside from this thread, which you have completely misread BTW, what is it Sir that I have done, or said that gives you any pause, or reason to question my behavior whatsoever?
  24. Well, these which is better, blondes vs brunettes, '55 Dodgers vs '27 Yankees, etc. kinds of conversations rarely do. I just happened to end up under the dog pile on this one. lol Oh well, to each there own.
  25. Video is not available Doc.
