I said that as a joke to Blue, he was saying something about chicks dropping their panties over a piston gun. Sounds like you have a plan, I suggest you stick with that plan since its working for you. ANYWAY, as I have said several times already, and this will be the last time; I am a DI guy, doing the same thing you guys are, I just happen to own one piston gun, and all I am saying is that I do see why the guys in uniforms who ride around at night in helo's and rubber boats and have unlimited funds thanks to you and me, choose to run piston guns, there are intrinsic advantages to them. So I am not a LWRC salesman, or pimp, I just happen to own one, and it is a nice rifle. BTW I posted his credentials above if you are actually curious, but there are TONS of guys and resources out on the internet that have the same take, its hardly an unusual or controversial position to take. So what do ya say we all go out and shoot our DI guns, I will occasionally shoot my piston gun, and we can try and talk about something else easier to resolve, like 1911 vs Glock, or Ford vs Chevy. Ha!

Blue is right Beeks, no reason to have a bitch'in gun if you can't see what ya wanna hit right. SO MANY guys get it backwards and spend big dough for a fancy gun and then put a cheapo optic on it, ugh! I would venture to say I have almost twice as much money invested in optics as I do firearms that need them (Rifles). One good option in addition to Blue's suggestion might be go with a fixed 6X or even 10X depending on what you're wanting to do and take a peek at the SWFA SS lineup, they have some excellent scopes that are worth having and they are $299 bucks! They have a variable to but its mo money. Good luck with it.

Well F me... never heard about that... will get a few and try them out. Thanks.

You get the idea...

Don't think I didn't almost bite... cause I almost did.

Piston, DI, 5.56, 308AR... guys, being wrapped up in the bolt action LR game for the last few years, just getting back to my roots and hanging out here with ya'll recently has renewed my appreciation for them all, and reminded me me how much I love the $h!t out of these black "bad ass" rifles of ours!

You meant subsonics? Anyway, that all sounded great... till that infamous last word. ;-)
-
I think they call that an ARGO W+C...
-
Oh I bet its not...;-) Well you are right AS ALWAYS... Haha. The 30 Cal SLR MB I was looking at is a different design: Why the Lancer mags and not P-Mags, they run as well huh? Cheaper? I've never tried them.
-
Who knew?! Tandem fun and games...
-
If they do exist Wash ... Tom already has 'em.
-
Nice cocktail of AR's there Tom! How do you like the SLR MB, I was looking at those? And I have always been a P-Mag guy, but what mags are those you and Mike are running? Thanks in advance. ;-)

Damn, you're probably right Bob, first step it admitting when ya need help, and I readily admit when it comes to this smokeless powder fueled addiction I suffer from, well I need all I can get... I will sign up at Bud's today! ;-)

I don't need no stink'in pistons anyhow...

I know bro, my wife is so puzzled, she wants to send me to firearm rehab, thank God she can't find one!

You may be hot, but that 300Blk is very cool! Ha. Sucks man I know heat can be miserable, hope you get that resolved asap! I'm a cash and carry guy for the most part, but damn if I wouldn't hesitate to use some credit to get the A/C back online! ;-) -
Yep, I know about that one Tom, amazing stuff, but keep in mind they did clean it at least once if I recall as of the last time I checked, and they were constantly lubing it throughout were they not. Hey guys, I am by no means a DI hater, in fact with DI guns as in most cases in my life I am a traditionalist, I own several DI guns and only the one piston. So my intention is just to admit the foibles where they exist with both gas systems, and without the benefit of regular maintenance, cleaning and lubrication, the piston guns are just less susceptible to failure, I mean that's a pretty well established truth in my own experience, and an accepted fact in the gun community so far as I know. Doesn't mean piston is better or vise versa, I have documented +'s and -'s with respect to each. That's all I'm saying, and I think it's hardly a stretch.

Hey Mag, Heat certainly affects lubricant life and effective longevity, and the DI gun will begin to fail and stop running long before you shot out the barrel. Just saying that if you were to stand on the line at a range and shoot them both side by side, they will both run and run, but at some point you will have to stop and service the DI gun before you would the piston. The garbage and heat will eventually dry and foul the BCG in the DI gun and consequently it will begin to experience failures before the piston gun shows those signs, simple as that. BTW we are trying to get some of PNW guys together this fall, any chance you might make it up this direction for some 308AR comroderie and range time, would luv to meet ya!

Which one did you get Bob? I have a JP Gen ll on one of my rifles but kinda recall those being pretty comparable in price with the Syrac's and SLR's of the world.
