  1. That is one good reading resource. Shows that if one looks at the barrel as a replacement part, then steel ammo is just as good as brass for cost effectiveness. And as I am just looking at this for range/blasting ammo, then it might just make sense to not have to worry about retrieving the brass, spending time prepping itm and then reloading it.
  2. Is this stuff dirty, especially after putting a higher number of rounds through a 308AR? I know it isn't up to good accuracy standard and such, but I am wondering if it would be good to go for plinking ammo on the cheap..... And I know it isn't easily reloadable.
  3. I just found a glitch of sorts that has happened to me previously, but never paid attention to it. When i reply to a thread, the submit button bar is gone. Just the choose files/insert media bar/buttons are in the pane. I dunno...... am I the only one to have that happen? It only happens on my android tablet, but have never had it happen on my desktop, or noticed on my android phone..... I took a pic of it if you want one....
  4. Here is a pic of my screen.

  5. I do like their sound, and their music style. That being said, everything they do sounds almost identical. This isn't bad to me, but he does have a narrow range for his vocal abilities. Another vocalist that comes to kind with the same limitations is Stephen Pearcy from Rattt, but I really liked Ratt also....guess that I am not bitching, just needed to say something. ;)
  6. Has anything been legally decided ablut those who are living within the 1,000 ft radius of a school? And I mean for example, out here in ND, that law effectively could turn over half of some small towns` locales into gun free zones. I had that question years ago when it was instituted, but never found out what the answer really was. Actually had a discussion with a guy who lived right across from the school, and he said f` them, he wasn't giving up his hunting rifles (and that was all he had, a couple bolt actions and shotguns).
  7. Yes, she is a keeper. And she does strike a much harder deal than I do. As far as keeping the Mini, I cannot tell you the last time she shot it....but putting rounds through the AR only took until the next day for her. I think a good choice for carbine swap also.
  8. Too bad the response teams weren't held up in traffic for a couple of hours. ....
  9. The wife and I were walking through one of my LGS' s that I like, and I kiddingly handed her an APF AR15 carbine off the rack while saying "you need one of these". She replied with a question about how much did I think her Mini14 would be worth on trade, and a short time later...... She is the proud owner of an APF Econo Carbine with the Nikon P223 scope package on it. http://www.apfarmory.com/econo-carbine-with-nikon/ She ran the deal with having to only pay $235 difference.....I think I am going to have to get her to make my deals for me in the future.
  10. Just making sure anyone who does this understood that ZQ1 is made to nato specs. There was a very interesting write up in an issue of Firearms News a while back, and their ammo manufacturing process is ahead of many in the US.
  11. The ZQ1 I ran through my 308AR was flawless. I really liked it, but for those who reload, it does have well crimped in primers....something to keep in mind for those who reload..... And there hasn't been any seen in my local Wallyworld for a while either.....and now that I think about it, around 2 months.
  12. that's a smiler for a couple of days!!!! Hell, it might even keep giving a giggle or two.....
  13. This is one of the very few things that my father and I agree on, and have agreed on for many years....the more of this shinola that is shown/reported on, the more shinola happens when other sickos copy it.
  14. RIP Officer Ortiz. Never good when a good one is laid to rest.
  15. Yup, mine showed up on Friday. I got lost in the shuffle at my house, and forgot to post a delivery confirmation. ...
  16. And to think, in all seriousness, they probably wouldn't be smart enough to understand the dicotomy of their respective slogans and being on the same political side, if it was pointed out to them.
  17. That actually was pretty cool, in a weird sort of way.
  18. Just to follow up on this for those who were/would have been curious.... The original problem was traced back to MY reloaded brass cases being over length/past maximum trim length. That was causing my "drag" problems. Trimmed brass, *poof* everything settled down. Only one more problem showed up, and then APF fixed that with a redesigned case deflector on the upper receiver. The carbine is now 100%, including old CAVIM ammo that gave me problems in every other 308 I ever tried it in. Nothing sticking, hanging up, no chamber problems, no misfeeds, these are not the droids you are looking for, ect. And I never touched the chamber with anything on my end. Happy I have learned to have a bit of patience in my older age.... :)
  19. And actually, APF took care of my problem for me. They put a MOE rifle stock on for me when they swapped my upper receiver out for an upgraded version. Happy camper here!!! That MOE is the correct length of pull for how I run my carbine, and NO WOBBLE!!!! I was actually shimming my collapsible and not moving it so that it would not wobble on me. And best of all, APF did it for no charge to me. Can't complain or beat that with a stick!
  20. I knew that ANYTHING put up for a position by Obozo was way less than desirable for any normal thinking person. I just was waiting to hear about the latest lib in republican titled clothing to fall out of the tree.....
  21. Still better the saying "I'm skreweddddd" on the dust cover. But that is what is happening here.....
  22. That cwd has been showing up around the southern part of the state where I hunt also. Not too bad yet, but we have also had a major drop off in number the last couple of years, along with the cwd. I just quit going......more work and expense than the few pound of meat are worth for me. I can buy top beef for less around here.
  23. It looks the same on mobile, except the *new*posts are brought up differently. They are almost in a RSS feed or something. That is not the same for me, and I cannot get it back to the way it was. This way I am shown every new post, not just the new threads that have posts in them. There is a long listing of posts this way, and if I am not on WIFI at home, it does take more time/data to wade through it. This is why I voted for "suks"....
  24. I am exceedingly impressed with my APF http://apfarmory.com carbine. I have ZERO complaints when using any factory ammo, and all problems with handloads have been traced to myself, so still 0 complaints. And their customer service is second to none. Rifle was sent off on a Monday, and I received it back on the following Friday. They replaced the upper receiver to correct a redesigned case deflector issue, and now it runs 100% with all ammo.....even old CAVIM the gave me fits through every other rifle I've ever tried it in. DPMS pattern rifles, a manufacturer of parts for many other manufacturers (including DPMS) , and prices to make you happier than all get out.
