If the eyepiece isn't lined up correctly, and you have to move your head/eye around to center the eye in the correct spot for correct focus, then you will be forever "hunting" for that spot when looking into the scope.Having the scope set at the correct height for the corresponding correct cheekweld makes everything line up "magically" when done. Just having that scope off one set of height adjustments (low to mid height rings for example) can throw off that "perfect" focus when mounting the rifle to look though the scope. having that high ring mount style/system does nothing but cause me focus trouble, cheekweld position adjustments, and general "it isn't right" when using a wrongly set u rifle/scope combination. If you think about the way the older Russian style of scope mounting was done, that is the extreme example....no proper cheekweld possible, scope set WAY above the bore line of the rifle.....you get the point.

The PEPR that I looked through at a LGS sat too high for my tastes. But I do prefer scopes to set as low as possible, depending upon the comb height and rifle type.

That definitely works! Good shooting, TX380. I thought that APF and Alexandria Pro Fab were just different forms of the same company at one time. Now I know different, and am going to get my parts, uppers , lowers, ect., only from APF then. Getting something that was supposed to be destroyed because of rejection isn't what I want to pay money for. Cosmetic problems are one thing, but if there happens to be spec problems, that is entirely different....and until something is purchased, there isn't much to check for specs. I am just glad the upper is working for you, though; and keeps working on and on into the future for you without any problems.

Crap!!!! Can't get the pic uploaded..... But the pic shows my receipt for Perfecta 150gr SP 308 Win in 20 round boxes for $7/box.....can't even quite put it together for that price. (I figure that my time is worth $.10 per round.) If my math works out correctly, $.35/round...... If nothing else, blasting ammo......
