Well obummer, it says "The item you have requested has a problem with one or more of the metadata files that describe it, which prevents us from displaying this page. If you would like to report this problem as an error report, you may do so here." I appreciate the attempt though!
  3. PM sent
  4. Actually it's a number applicator for wiring but like whiskey on a tower, I never use it lol
  5. I asked the boss if I could rig a zip-line to "practice tower personnel rescue techniques". He saw through my ruse and said no haha
  6. Good luck & I hope it turns out kickin'! I wanted a 16" but got such a good deal ($144!) for a new Ballistic Advantage 18" Looks like a new 15-16" handguard might be in my future too
  7. from the linked story... "The revelation is certain to inflame suspicions about Finicum's death and shake confidence in the FBI, which came under intense fire for botched handling of violent sieges at Ruby Ridge in Idaho and Waco, Texas......The sheriff in neighboring Grant County, Glenn Palmer, described the police operation as an "ambush." Inflame suspicions indeed. Sometimes it makes one wonder if they are actually trying to create McVeigh's
  8. Thanks DW, my JTac stuff is slow in arriving. Haven't heard anything about backordering anything so we'll see.
  9. Welcome from TX and good luck!

I see the one for the Winchester 94...got one for the 9422 in 22Mag? And many thanks for the others too. Good stuff but lots I don't (personally) need, like full auto stuff.
  11. Some recent good news about foiled terrorist plans. Go USA "WASHINGTON — The United States has carried out an air strike in Somalia, killing more than 150 fighters with the al Qaeda-linked Islamist group al Shabaab, following U.S. intelligence on preparations for a large-scale militant attack, the Pentagon said on Monday." http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/u-s-drone-strike-kills-150-al-shabaab-militants-article-1.2555769
  12. Their site says they guarantee sub MOA accuracy so I'm assuming it'll be a decent shooter. On wash's, maybe the guy had to take a restroom break and missed the final cleaning step. I'll let you know if this one's clean

Yes I concede that a good steel clamshell is a more than adequate design for it's purpose. After all, the plane of exploding gas forces being directed on the gas-block are not really hitting at the optimal angles for ripping the threads from their nice warm beds. Still, I reckon I'll just always prefer that unbroken circle. Kinda like putting a ring on a good woman.
  14. It might be old, dry as a bag of bones and written on one of those "it stays in Vegas" days but nothing in it that probably didn't need to be said. Still getting folks attention too haha
  15. Ahhh, swayin' on a tower just gives me a peaceful easy feelin' even without jammin to the Eagles in the earbuds. Couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with a rifle from up there though, lol. Like trying to shoot from a bobbing boat...some got it but I ain't them
  16. Sure is a grand Christmas present I agree. I got one just like it for Christmas 2015. Ditto the smile it puts on your face! I shot 308 AR's first though, so to me the 223's just feel ultra lightweight. Mine looks a lot different than it did out of the box $$$wellspent! ;)
  17. I hear good things about Ballistic Advantage barrels, so I have one on the way. The 18" .308Win Govt Tactical profile. I still can't believe I got one for $144.
  18. They said it's Damascus steel with nearly 2000 folds but it's also Made in Japan. Looks like Damascus and is hard n sharp.
  19. Other hobbies, sometimes I like getting a certain kind of high lol. This is a short one. Can you see the men standing on the ground and telephone poles that look like toothpicks?

A full circle solid steel gas-block can't be beat. Personally, I don't think the minimal weight savings of aluminum is a good swap in such a critical high temp & pressure area. Neither does a clam-shell, where the stress is borne by the threads holding the clam shut. Any of them may last a while but none will outperform solid steel using set-screws and high-temp threadlocker.
  21. Copy that, have done & will continue to do.
  22. Thank you and TOS acknowledged. 308AR Rocks
  23. There are a lot of technical details to be learned but one thing that seems to elude me most is holding the sights steady on the point of aim, through the need to breathe and squeeze and follow through with a clean trigger pull, and getting the shot off quick enough to not drift back off the point of aim again. Shucks, I find it difficult even when shooting with a bipod much less freehand. Respect to those with real shooting skills.
  24. When you say IDF...do you mean THIS IDF? http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-glutrPzZmnI/UIIJMdH4ZmI/AAAAAAAASfs/NmvuJpWkEAk/s1600/hot+female+Israeli+soldier+in+a+bikini,+as+yet+unidentified,+at+the+beach+in+Tel+Aviv+carrying+her+military-issued+rifle.jpg
  25. About any possible bad dremel tooling, personally I prefer function over form. Both are nice of course but if it has to be one or the other...
