Woo Hoo! 10mm MFer moves from the "Needs Work" category to the MFing Blaster category. Did a couple things, first checked the headspace/ removed barrel, dropped in a round, snapped the BCG over the rim. Ran test adding shims until extractor didn't go under rim, about 0.007". Don't know what it is supposed to be but that seemed good. Full forward BCG contacts barrel face with round in chamber. Go/ No go gauges for the 1911's about the same results. So pushed the finishing reamer in all the way and spun it without pushing very hard, cut the rifling back a bit without pushing the shoulder back much. Used a white wool bit with some jeweler's rouge on the Dremel to really polish the chamber out. Put an 8-1/2" carbine extension on and added another 3.5 oz to the recoil mass. Went with the orange spring. First ran some factory 180 gr. Not too impressive but worked 100% Good SD's. 155gr XTP over 15gr AAC#9 This is what I'm talking about! 15.7 gr AAC#9, compressed load. I think the 2165fps is a mis read by the labradar. 6.8 gr Titegroup 155gr XTP Chewed through everything I threw at it, brass looked great. I'll clean it up and look closer later. Then ran some 300 BO tests. EDIT screwed up the order. Fixed now. Blue 220's, Sierra 220's, and some super-cheapo 220's. 220gr Blue bullets 9.9gr H110 COL 2.130 Lost communication. Edit: I have the order fixed I think. 220gr Blue 2.130 COL 9gr AAC#9 Didn't cycle reliably. 9.0 Lil Gun 2.130 COL 220gr Blues. Budget 220 gr FMJ's 9.9 H110 COL 2.100 #9 failed to cycle at 9.0 gr Lil Gun 9.0 COL 2.100 220 gr budget pill Sierra SMK 220's COL 2.220 #9 at 9 gr failed to cycle. 9.9gr H110 I think the 1152 is a mis read or a bad load. SMK 220 9.0 Lil Gun Like this one. Nice day at the range, got a lot of data. Out of 12 or so loadings, didn't have to dig one shell out. The AAC#9 in the 300 didn't have enough gas to pick up a round but did clear the port with the empties so pretty close. The 10mm ran flawlessly from put puts to full blow loads. Locked back on everything. I see a suppressor in my future.

Here is some brass out of the 40 carbine. Starting to show a little flow. 155gr XTP 5.8gr Titegroup, just about max.

While waiting for a few parts to show up took a look at the used brass. A few of them showed bad signs of separation. Primers don't look bad Especially compared to my 1911 10mm primers.

Good idea on the rifle length extension. I have everything I need to make a stainless rifle buffer in my shop, and a pile of tungsten weights. Probably have a rifle tube as well. full blow 10mm in a carbine is a FUN MFer...

Don't sweat missing this, kind of a back burner project. I get it out every once in a while, run some loads, don't fuk with it for months, run some new ammo or spring, repeat. Yes. Blowback. Getting around 1730 fps w/ 15.6gr AA#9 1640fps w/ 6.8gr Titegroup. I'd scrap it but it's a blast to shoot and accurate, and not very loud. Not much more then the 40. I get around the 1430's with the 40. Reload ladders, started out #9 laddered from 14.8 to 15.6. Too compressed at anything over 15.6 Titegroup did the whole 6.4 to 7.2 Getting way over the published velocity as expected, Using 155 XTP's. The thing is, though, Hot loads or weak loads don't make much of a difference as far as case separation. Case goes fully into chamber with extractor under rim so not unsupported blowout. Separation point about mid case. Found a source for 8-1/2" Extensions so adding another 3/4" + 1 more tungsten weight to the buffer. 14.6 oz buffer 3.6 oz additional weight 14.6 oz BCG Almost 33 oz reciprocating mass for the next trip to the range. Swapping BCG's with the 40. Think I'm going to back off on the spring go back to an orange or red. If this doesn't work, I have a 12" barrel to try. Also tried some PMC 180's, same.

Over the last few months got this out to the range a few times. Usually never get through more then 5-10 rounds without ripping a case in half. Sometimes a whole mag. Tried a lot of different things. I have downloaded to the point the AR40S&W has a lot more velocity. Always cycles reliably. Doesn't matter if full blow AA#9 powder or downloaded to whimpy titegroup velocities, every 5-10 rips a case in half. Driving me nuts, I should be able to nail this. Ideas? 14.6 oz buffer Red spring What I've tried so far: EA1095 spring Wilson AR10 Flatwire Downloaded ammo New Starline brass Factory ammo Plunk tested ammo -removed barrel, plunk tested, checked BCG, easily grabbed round without jamming it into the bore. Plunk test seems just right. Polished chamber Next range trip, added a collar to the buffer to increase weight (+0.75 oz) and spring tension. Trying a different BCG. Ideas?

Great information, really needed. Thanks! Running an ea1095 in my 10mm 16" blowback AR, 7-3/4" tube, 14.6 oz buffer. Likes to rip a case in half every now and then, going to try the WC AR 10 flatwire looks like it has a couple more lbs when closed.

Not wrong. Vltor A5 length = Armalite AR10 Carbine extension length, 7 11/16 +/- internal. Correct on H3. Any H3, 29.00 same as 69.00 one. Can't use Voltr A5 buffer, too long. I found a source for the tungsten buffer weights for around $4.20 each, save $$ re-weighting lighter buffers.

Don't think so. Last build I went with the Sons of liberty 9 position tube, really like it, rifle spring (EA1095 or Sprinco Red). 5.4 oz +/- H3 buffer. That's good! @Dewey Mack makes some good points, I may have been backwards on the ejection pattern but would swear that more pressure brings my rounds back. Also agree about the gas tube location and the bolt firing pin hole. Brother was having cratering problems/ pierced primers/ stuck pin due to primer debris, gave him a dual ejector SRC high pressure I had extra really made a difference. This is what the gas tube should look like.

AWM are good mags. I don't have problems with other mags either usually run the C-Products stainless steel, fits the budget and 100% reliable.

1:00 ejection I would drill up one or 2 more sizes, pretty sure it takes more gas to go from 1:00 to 3:00-4:00. To answer your question, I like the Seekins Precision but there are a lot of good ones. An AGB won't help until you are gassed correctly/ little over.

Those are just fine, always have a couple spares laying around. I also just radius the square ones and polish.
