  1. I shot this again last week while working up some handloads. Suppressed with the rifle buffer system, this thing is so sweet to shoot. Switching from the low powered 7.62x51 to the hotter handloads it was nice to so easily change gas settings with the Riflespeed gas block. I really like this thing. Since Stag is now part of the corporation that also owns Aero Precision, I wonder if Ballistic Advantage also makes barrels for the Stag rifles. I sort of have an itch to put a nicer barrel in someday. I guess I'll see if I can get this barrel to shoot MOA or tighter.
  2. I have only used the 5 rounds per charge method. I just recently read of the second method: https://www.loaddevelopment.com/load-development-ladder-test-method/ I guess I don't understand how this is very accurate. It seems to assume that your rifle is absolutely perfect, and the shoot doesn't make mistakes? I like using the chronograph because it gives me data I can understand.
  3. Thanks. I was told to use .5 grain steps on .308 and .2 on my 6.8. On my next ladder, I'll keep it tighter. Hopefully I can get some good data from the chrony.
  4. 44-46 in .5 grain increments. I'm always a bit wary because none of the manuals develop data for gas guns, it's always bolt guns.
  5. I just finished loading a ladder of Varget and 4064 with the 155gr bullets. Looks like this week we get a bunch of snow, so I won't be able to hit the range for a bit.
  6. Yeah, I think I have them all!
  7. I lucked in to a pound of IMR 4061. I'm going to try that and see if I get better results.
  8. Hit the range today. Brisk but beautiful morning in WY. This is what I was able to do at 100 yards. I'm not a pro shooter, just going off what the Army tried to teach me. Saltech brass, CCI LRP, Ramshot TAC. 18" Stag 10L with YHM ULT can and 3-10 scope. ProChrono DLX at 10 feet. Hopefully the pics are OK. Brass pic is lowest charge on bottom, working up. Thanks ahead of time for looking and offering any suggestions. 9. I started a ladder of TAC. Hopefully it works out ok.
  10. Sorry, I forgot to mention it is a .308
  11. I've got some Saltech brass prepped to load, and a huge box of Nosler 155 CC bullets. Rifle is lefty Stag 10 with 18" barrel and will be shot suppressed. In Wyoming, and it's been chilly. What do you guys like to use for powder? I've got some Ramshot TAC and Varget in pretty good amount. Also have some other powders but only a pound or two: RL15, H4831, H4198, H322. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!
  12. I've used a bunch of that over the years. Never had an issue. I've always considered S&B to be pretty decent ammo, though not top of the line.
  13. What does that cost to run?
  14. Clearing out some stuff to pay some bills. No trades, please. I prefer postal money order, or Venmo as long as you cover fees so the payment is complete, net to me. 15. Can you afford $289? https://www.arkenopticsusa.com/arken-optics I'm REALLY impressed with the Arken scope I bought.
  16. I'm no photographer, and my rifle isn't much to look at, but here it is: ETA: No way to use imgbb to link photos?
  17. I've shot many suppressed rifles that gassed me out without a few shots. That's mainly the reason I switched to lefty uppers. Unsuppressed I don't notice any gas, just debris ocassionaly.
  18. Thanks to Matt Cross for adding this subforum! I'm a lefty and am also left eye dominant. That wasn't an issue during my time the in Army or even later when I started shooting more on my own time. When it did become an issue is when I started putting cans on everything. My go to 5.56 is a Stag lefty homebuilt that I love to death. Last spring I put together a Stag 10 in .308 using their 18" upper and I built the lower. I added a Raptor SD charging handle. The only other change to the upper is the addition of the Rifle Speed gas block. For me it was totally worth the price. I love being able to quickly change settings without tools if I shoot commercial loads, handloads, or surplus 7.51x51, with our without the can. This rifle has been 100% for me. It's still getting broken in, and I'm still trying to learn how to shoot a large frame AR, but the accuracy has been really great. I get no gas to face, at all when shooting suppressed. So far, I have used Magpul, Lancer, Larue mags. The Lancers seem to be hard to get the first round chambered. The round seems to drag a bit leaving the mag, but after that they run great. Could still be a break in issue.
  19. I love it. It's awesome. I can share more when we get a Stag subforum opened up.
  20. While we are at it, can we add a Stag subforum? I can't be the only guy with a lefty stag 10.
  21. I wet tumble with a Thumler, and haven't had much issue getting the interior of the cases pretty clean.
  22. This looks like a pretty good solution. I'm in DRY WY, so I feel your pain. https://www.amazon.com/Lyman-Products-Powder-Funnel-System/dp/B079ZQWM1T
  23. Yeah, my first room mate in Germany killed himself after his girlfriend dumped him. Laid down on a train track 2 weeks after AIT. Depression is no joke.
  24. More inline fabrications stuff.
  25. I've really liked the Raptor with the ports. It seems to help a bit more when shooting suppressed.
