The only thing I have against the tailhook2 is the proprietary buffer tube. It's AR15 length so if I want to put it on a 308 I need the short heavy buffer. I have 1 tail hook and 4 SBA's. And 2 blades. Wouldn't install a blade on anything that kicks much.

Call Armalite they will probably make you a kit with tube, buffer and spring. Just cuz the website say out of stock doesn't mean you can't get parts usually.

The tail hook mod2 is a lot firmer than the SBA's. More a hard plastic than rubber. You are stuck using their buffer tube w/the tail hook mod2.

Put the receiver in a vice with the barrel pointed up. Put a metal bar in the BCG where the hammer comes up to hit the firing pin. Smack metal bar with a big hammer. Worth a try before you cut up a receiver.

No rotating trigger pins. Are a big plus. There are 2 main bolt patterns. Colt mags or Glock mags. If you want to go Glock mags with a regular AR receiver the Stern Defense mag well adapter works well. The Glock style bolt also works well with the Mean arms mag insert that goes in a PMag. No mag well adapter needed that way. The Mean arms inserts come standard at 10 rounds but can be changed to 30 rounds for free states. Don't remember what the weight is but I'm running the Spikes 9mm buffer and a Armalite 308 spring. My 9mm pistol is all PSA except the receiver.

SBA3 is good to go. I have them on 2 308 pistols.

Looks good. A stiff mag release is better than one that dumps the mag if you just bump it.

I haven't had any problem with the one I bought BUT I have only loaded it and emptied it twice.

Hi, Please don't take this wrong but you bought race gun parts. I used to work for Deb Cheek she was one of JP's 3 gun shooting team shooters. They make great guns to play games with. Set up for 1 load. Almost everyone that has posted questions about their JP parts not working are using the recoil system. If you can increase your spring rate and open the gas a bit more you might get the desired results. The armalite springs and buffers systems just plain work. Hope this helps.

Both of mine are 11 1/16" Both come to the middle of the cut out.

That's just plain weird. I'm getting 2200+ fps out of a 12" 6.5 Grendel w/123 gr factory ammo. Have you slugged the barrel? Maybe bore is oversized and letting gas around the bullet. If the bore diameter is off they should take the barrel back. Just a thought.

Velocities should be at least 500-700 fps more unless they were measured right in front of the target. Tht barrel should do better than 2-3MOA.

This is the one I took out. You can see where it was rubbing on the pin. Almost 10 thousandths thicker than the replacement.
