Put the extension in a vice and get a big pipe wrench and unscrew the barrel. Your getting a new barrel anyway. This should let you see some of what happened.

Soft point ammo doesn't feed well in the rifles for the most part. FMJ or the plastic tipped feed better.

The pin just locates the Barrell so the gas port is in the right place. The extension is screwed on with about 90 ftlbs of torque. The chance on a different extension indexing to the right spot to where the gas port is at 12 o'clock is pretty slim. Just buy another barrel.

Sights might help. Glad you got it functioning.

Sounds like you got it sorted out. Yes your buffer was too light. The springco orange spring is good to go also. The little brass bits will go away as everything wears in.

The other thing I would add is "DPMS" pattern uppers do not fit the PSA lowers. They almost fit but not quite.If you want to build another upper in a different caliber you will be stuck getting an upper from PSA. Knowing now what I didn't know then I would probably buy the Diamondback or build one using Aero receiver and upper.

I have 2 PSA's . 1 factory rifle and 1 pistol I built. The factory rifle only needed the correct length gas tube to be reliable. I also switched out the barrel to get more accuracy. The pistol I built I used Armalite's carbine recoil components. As to putting the pistol upper on a rifle lower unless you have the lower registered as a Short barreled rifle don't do it.

Just have milspec charging handles on my 2 9mm. No problem w/gas for me.

If you cover the can with the rail after a few shots that rail will get warm quickly.

As long as the BCG is supposed to work w/Glock mags you should be good to go. The mean arms inserts work with Glock cut bolts not the colt cut bolts.

I hate it when that happens.
