I'm afraid that this will be used by the Dems to encourage riots and mayhem. Which will then lead to "crack downs" of the unrest. The two-party system is an absolute failure at this point. Divided we fall. And both parties are all-in on division.

I am curious to see the "upgraded" lineup. I suspect they will appear identical to current lineup, with only internal changes. But we'll see. I've been contemplating adding a 10mm to my collection due to increased bear activity both here in the mtns. of WNC and at the lake cabin in VA. I'd pretty much narrowed it down to the Glock, Springfield and FN striker fired models which are optics ready. My aging overworked eyes like red dots. Glocks are now completely out of stock at the venues where I shop. This gives me an excuse to kick the decision down the road a few months. I don't buy pistols I haven't held in my hand.

I have the non BT version. I use it to have hearing protection when deer hunting while maintaining the ability to hear. This will be the 4th season I've used mine, assuming I don't fill up the freezer during bow season. My only real gripe is the ear pieces tend to pull out from the tension caused by the coiled wires. Less of an issue with the silicon ear pieces than the rubber. The silicon fit my ears more snugly. Considering just using a suppressor instead. Probably, not technically quiet enough for shooting without hearing protection in .308 cal., but close. Also, I'm not shooting but once when hunting. Last time I ordered a suppressor, the wait for a federal tax stamp using Silencer Central and a gun trust was extended.

On the topic of 308 SBRs, any thoughts on whether I could just swap this 10" upper out https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1028296351?pid=518598 with the current one on an out of production Windham Weaponry AR 308 with a 16" barrel. Love the old WW, it's been incredibly reliable and is quite accurate. However, it's also a bit redundant now since I obtained a Daniel Defense DDV-V3. I've already made a few mods to the WW to further lighten it. Thinking a 10" barrel would make for a solid package for hunting in an area with a lot of undergrowth and generally short sight lines.

Been a bit since I put together an AR308. I believe the consensus is, in general, Aero is significantly superior to PSA in design and quality control. Thinking about a new 10" project after the Fall hunting season. I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with the AR-Stoner offerings from Midway USA. I don't know and haven't researched where from their barrels and component are sourced.

I'm not that ambitious. But it did serve as a reminder to recharge my Remington dehumidifier thingies in the upstairs and downstairs safes. Damn sticky in the SE this time of year.

I've been very satisfied with my Weber gas grill going on 10 years now. Mine is just a basic 3 burner Spirit series. I also have a couple of different smokers - one charcoal and one electric. But our dinner has probably come off that gas grill 2-3 times a week during that period. The weather is also pretty good around here in Western North Carolina year round 🙂

On one hand - I want one. On the other hand, I've never once used the handle stock that came with my 500 field/security combo that I've had forever. I'm not even sure where it is offhand.. For home defense, I just keep it handy and easy to get to equipped with the 18" barrel and buckshot. It does make a bit more sense to me with the semi-auto action though. Definitely would like to shoot one.

@sketchAppreciate the review. Thermal/night vision capability is on my "wish list". Expensive wish for me, based upon the amount of time I'll probably use it. But I imagine I'll get there sooner than later. My biggest concern is plunking down the payment and being disappointed out the gate or buying a device that craps out in a short period of time with no recourse. I have a couple of Holosun devices that have been bulletproof. I've had a 507k on my EDC for 5+ years and only had to change the battery once. Never thought of using a thermal in conjunction with a conventional scope.

Never went down the pellet grill rabbit hole. But my experience with other Webers leads me to believe you'll enjoy your purchase for a long, long time.

I've got an ancient Ithaca 37 Featherweight that used to be my Dad's. He bought it used when he was a boy on a lay away plan from the local hardware store. Took it to school with him on the bus (guns were left in the principal's office during the day) and would go rabbit and squirrel hunting with his buds afterwards. It was still his primary hunting gun when I was a boy. It's in rough shape at this point. My older brother fell with it and cracked the stock, which was then glued. There is also significant rust on the barrel having been kept in a humid lake cabin for decades. I have thought about refurbishing it. But never quite found the time or motivation. Ironically, my go to shotgun has long been a Mossberg 500 with dual interchangeable barrels.

I can't fully wrap my head around distances like you are describing. In my location, a shot of 200 yds is about as long as it gets. Which is just as well with my eyes 🤓

I have 2 16" AR 308s w/16" barrels. Same 1:10 barrel twist rates. One is a Daniel Defense. The other is a Wyndham Weaponry (great manufacturer - but they're out of business now). Tried a lot of different ammos in each. I use both for hunting. The DD does best with heavier ammo. For that one, 178g Hornady ELD-x is the best ammo. The WW does best with 150g ammo. Usually just feed it plain old Federal Power Shok. Both are sub 1 MOA with ammo they like. But my primary point is to try different ammos with your guns. Based on my experience, seemingly similar guns can perform quite differently with different ammos. If I shoot "the higher quality" 178g in the WW, it goes to 1.5+ MOA. BTW - both use BCGs with dual ejectors. Never had an issue with either - at all. Happy shooting!

I've been happy with the Holosun 510C on my 9mm PCC. It also comes with a QD mount, so I can switch it over to my Mossberg 12 ga. for turkey season if I want to. My 2 cents opinion -and that about it's worth.

Outside the reach of a shotgun. It didn't like being spotlighted and moved on. After a bit more thought, probably not a good idea to try to knock down something that big over a populated suburban neighborhood. We're still recovering from Hurricane Helene. I'd hate to be responsible for crashing something into someone's home or worse. Still have to wonder WTF it was doing. It's not like there is anything interesting going on around here that I know of.

All I know is that there has been a car size drone buzzing around our mountain neighborhood for over an hour now. It'd be a tough shot with a rifle on a moving target. But if I can catch it out a window with a swivel bipod ....

I have a few friends, (like myself), who lack the patience and attention needed to build from kits or parts, but prefer to start with a solid rifle with a lifetime warranty and customize from there.

Just like I like to give a shout out when I experience excellent customer service, I feel compelled to report a recent shitty buying experience with Bud's Gun Shop. Purchased a used Ruger MarkIV .22 pistol advertised in "excellent condition". I realize "excellent" is a subjective term, but I'd give this pistol a "fair" condition at best, although excellently cleaned and packaged. But what really pissed me off was discovering that the threads for mounting an optical were stripped. Didn't discover this right away since there was a filler screw in the hole. It was more than 30 days after receipt (maybe 45) when I started mounting a plate hen this was discovered. So I got hosed and Bud's has lost a formerly excellent customer for life. Off my soap box.
