  1. Your bolt is probably out of spec, you would have to compare it to one that headspaces correctly in order to know. I would talk to Mega and see if they will ship you a matched barrel & bolt and let you return your barrel in their packaging.
  2. A good many of us will never claim to be proficient shooters, and have turned out reliable sub-MOA rifles. There's no question that it can be done, the question is if it is possible within your parameters and abilities. Having spoken for your abilities, what are your parameters?
  3. What's the bolt you currently have?
  4. in this platform, accuracy equals rigidity equals weight. you can build a laser in this platform but it will cost you weight wise, and money wise too.
  5. Thanks everyone, I'll keep you posted.
  6. I've been a pissed off machinist for a while, looking forward to being a working machinist/former heavy equipment operator that's much less pissed off. I'd love to talk to your brother, I need all the dirt on you I can get my hands on....
  7. I figure it's about time to let y'all in on something I've kept quiet about for a while now. I'll spare many details for later, but for now suffice it to say that I've found a golden career opportunity that is ideally aligned with my personal career and family goals. I would also enjoy a substantial increase of income if I'm selected as the ultimate candidate. I return for my 2nd interview 4/6 @ 10:30am with WIX Filtration as a machinist. Needless to say, I'm severely hyped about the prospect of getting it....
  8. ACT SR Gold Do it, you'll never regret it.
  9. As far as I know, it was never sold nor fired beyond testing, but that's not authoritative knowledge, it's pure speculation. While I'm speculating, I dare say anybody buying it would be reluctant to fire the thing. After all, who wants to be the one who bought it when it malfunctions? That'd make for a bad day on the range with the RSOs laughing and whispering about the guy with the $100k rifle that doesn't work....
  10. Bear in mind that all the participants in this conversation up to your contribution are newcomers to the forum and/or platform and aren't versed in industry news quite as much as us seniors....
  11. Carries one everywhere she goes as a matter of fact....
  12. That's an Atlas, they're kinda gay in that they swing both ways....
  13. I flatly refuse to restring with anything other than Elixirs, that goes for my 5 string bass, two acoustics, and the strat too.
  14. ...or elect him....
  15. You may also have to accommodate differences in the gas system, IE gas block and gas tube length.
  16. Just to clarify, that semicircular profile at the rear of the upper denotes DPMS-type upper, which would be incompatible with an AR-10 because it would of course be the Armalite pattern. If the profile is an angle with rounded corners, that's the Armalite pattern. Just an FYI. :)
  17. I just blossomed in my pants...
  18. Welcome back Roger! I still have the BAD lever you sent me, and I love it. I'm looking forward to what the future holds for FCD and it's products. Keep us posted brother.
  19. Do you mean you want to convert to a Mil-Spec buffer tube? Go with either a Chrome Silicon flat wound spring, or an Armalite spring. Check out heavybuffers.com for your buffer needs.
  20. Welcome to the forums!
  21. The only barrel extension manufacturer I know of for large ARs is BAT Machine, you should be able to contact them and get a torque spec for their barrel extension. http://www.batmachine.com/batactions/ar-10/ Their phone number is listed at the bottom of that page.
  22. That is one sweet muzzle brake...
  23. Reliability is good. Groups are a matter of the gun, ammunition, and shooter, but you should be reasonably able to assume 2 MOA with cheap ammo and a decent trigger man.
  24. Yeah Doc, but if you didn't, these AARs would be mostly about friendly fire incidents caused by the geezers who insist on guarding the flanks (mostly so they can empty their ancient bladders without excusing themselves from the main squad).
