  1. You're right, I had it bass ackwards... apologies to the OP.
  2. LOL... You're that guy that always breaks the awkward silence, aren't you?!
  3. As far as the outside dimensions of the case, they are practically the same. However, the 7.62 NATO round has a thicker case specification and is designed for higher pressure. With the metals most barrels are manufactured from these days, you should have no trouble using them interchangeably.
  4. Since I'm charged with keeping these forums a place that's welcoming to both the established community AND to newcomers, let me just remind everybody that public bickering will be deleted and that PMs are the best way to resolve differences of opinion. The Admins and Mods have never had to consume time closing outdated threads, we can keep it that way by checking thread dates before posting. If you want to update an ancient thread, create a new one with a link to the old thread. Lastly, established community members are expected to help this community grow, which means being nice to members not yet familiar with our forum culture. Play nice folks, bottom line.
  5. No shoot. Way too many people could catch a stray or a pass through or ricochet. Idiot should've complied with the fellas in blue.
  6. So apparently if you're manufacturing an NFA item on a Form 1 via a trust, you have to scan your trust documents, which is interesting. When I purchased a suppressor, you only had to submit a declaration of trust, now they want to see the whole thing. Not really a deal breaker or anything, just heretofore unknown.
  7. It happens from time to time, Illusion. Don't sweat the petty stuff, pet the sweaty stuff. There have been a few such incidents recently and our resident silverback ain't takin' it lightly. Carry on friend.
  8. I locked the old thread, pretty innocuous mistake on the part of the newcomer, but it's good advice to check thread dates before replying to them.
  9. Good point, I'll close this one and it can RIP.
  10. So, I've been hearing good things about the eForm return times on Form 1s and I've decided to give it a shot, so to speak. Looks like I'm going to start off with a .45 can if all goes well. Updates to follow as the situation unfolds.
  11. ROFLMAO Wow brother, I laughed so hard I'm hurting. That was epic, ballsy, and hella funny....
  12. I'm with you Stain, I'm raising 3 patriots myself, and we won't be going down without a fight. I don't care if my letters and phone calls fall on deaf ears, when the time comes that lives are on the line, I will have made my standing clear.
  13. AR-10 would be the wrong type, DPMS is LR-308. I will edit the title for you.
  14. IP Man is epic awesomeness, I've watched both movies many times and it's always exciting.
  15. Welcome to the forums!
  16. Warning points are too good for the likes of him, I'm thinking we should duct-tape his hands and feet, slather him in peanut butter and feed him to Drew's dog.
  17. You were using it exclusively for muzzle devices? :P
  18. No sweat, it's what we do... :)
  19. I'd buy a Beachin Tactical guitar strap!
  20. Moved it to the clubhouse...
  21. Welcome to the forums! To edgecrusher's point, the semantics of AR10 vs. 308 AR is important when you're trying to set up your build. There are two primary or somewhat standard versions, DPMS/SR-25 type and Armalite which is the AR10. There are other outlying brands with proprietary formats, but aftermarket parts for those brands either rare, custom made, or nonexistent. Armalite and DPMS both make 308 ARs, but only Armalite makes an AR10. Knowing the difference will save you a lot of trouble, trust me.
  22. Thanks man, I'm nominating you for sainthood. <thumbsup>
  23. I've got mixed feelings about it, I really don't want him to have a good experience with them, I'll feel all the more cheated. >:D
  24. The main thing is ask any questions that cross your mind. We've answered lots of them for others, and the only stupid ones are the ones that hurt you because you didn't ask. So delve in and we'll help you every way we can. <thumbsup>
  25. Sounds good so far with possibly an exception or so. What kind of hunting are you planning to do? The reason I'm asking, is because you want rigidity for an 800+ rig, and rigidity means weight, which means you're packing more weight when hunting. As for lethality at 800+ yards, you're going to be quite limited with the bullet weights that will get you out there and weight concerns might limit your accuracy at that distance. Bottom line, you might have to choose whether you want a distance rig or a closer range rig that won't kill you to carry on the hunt. Welcome to the forums BTW... :)
