Arnold VonBargen - former owner of a little company you might have heard of, U.S. Optics. USO moved to the Carolinas a while back, and Arnold with them. He was introduced to the team today and I spoke with him for a few minutes in his office at the end of the shift, and invited him to come shooting sometime, seems like a pretty cool guy. He likes fast cars and boats, and has some pretty cool toys, and of course is a long range shooting enthusiast....
This. I'm not cynical, but stuff like this conspires to make you believe that only the good die young. Had his whole family + 3 guests on board, a bad day for those of us in the Carolinas who knew & thought a whole lot of him.
Oh yeah! My favorite item, a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, sautéed onions, mustard, ketchup, and A-1 sauce. Their fries and milkshakes are killer too.
Texas Fajitas - Grilled chicken, steak, and shrimp, stir fried with bell peppers and onions, served up on a tortilla with frijole, queso, salsa, sour cream, and whatever else suits your fancy. Delicious!
Beautiful weather the whole weekend, largest Spring Shoot on record in terms of attendance, great new people all around, some new records set by some new Canadian marksman, a great weekend by anyone's measure!
... and...
Got on the mile in two with Tom's rifle, my personal best to date!
Had a great time and can't wait for the Fall Shoot.
