  1. The DPMS Recon and the Armalite AR10-A A4 Carbine are both $1,500... And they are both very nice starts.
  2. Only problem again is there are no "budget builds" with this upper. You use their handguards and their barrel nuts. The best option you may get is length. If length is the only option, I hope to see some new lengths available. Mega's last line all stopped at the gas block. Some extended lengths would be nice. Maybe even a new SUPER long rail... Maybe 20"?
  3. We've been discussing it for a while now... As for pricing... The parts are still being printed in 3D polymer prototypes. It wont be until they are done in aluminum will we see the beginning of a price tag.
  4. Nice build <thumbsup>
  5. Also.... If anyone was looking closely, those two parts were made on a 3D printer!
  6. It's hard to write about it or explain... but somehow, in all the transfers, I ended up with TWO of their NiB bolts?? It's completely stripped, but I have it none the less. I'll get it all completed soon.
  7. Thanks bro. Just wait till the glass gets here!
  8. I started this thread in June 2011. I finally finished and fired this rifle in October 2012 (16 months later). Here she is, finished, in all her glory.... And the CARBON FIBER BARREL... SI Defense NiB coated Stainless Steel BCG... Sorry for the cell phone pics and dirty gun. :cookoo:
  9. I really like the texture of the APEX. I fondled the different carbon fiber FF's. I prefer the grip on the aluminum tubes.
  10. I have to mention LOKI Weapon Systems. They make some dang nice stuff. Here is the LOKI carbon fiber free float tube.

You really only gain 30-40 fps per inch passed 16". After 20" you only gain 20-25 fps till you reach 24". From 24" to 26" you only get about 10 fps per inch.
  12. Mernickle Holsters
  13. Guns are changing faster than women's fashion.
  14. @98Z5V, Sorry brother. I don't think they can make you a shelf large enough...
  15. Taken from 'Stickman': Here is a first seen view of a prototype component... guesses as to what it is, who makes it, what weapon platform, or caliber?
  16. Welcome Dagamore! Ditch those little surp rounds and get some 168gr-175gr and you'll see some HUGE improvement.
  17. You can find an MI or YHM rail system at very affordable prices. Even Troy Ind is dropping to reasonable prices.
  18. Jen likes the two tone color rifles. She's particularly fond of the FDE and BLK combo. She also is appreciative of camo, but she's critical about paint jobs. Have you seen the Mission First Tactical? They have a new color called "Scortched Dark Earth" that looks pretty creative and promising <dontknow>
  19. I've killed LOTS of animals with the .308 cartridge. From rabbits to bears. The giant benefit I found in the round is its vast range of bullet weight. From 77gr sabot to 220gr hand loads. You won't ever find that in those "designer" bullets. If all I was interested in was killing paper, I guess a 6.5 would appeal to me. I am just more partial to the .30 cal bullet when it comes to putting lead to meat. Rather go bigger, to the .338 Fed, than neuter the rifle to something smaller.
  20. Is that the 175gr Candy Corn?
  21. Mike, can you load up some smaller pictures? I can still barely see the ones you posted <lmao> <laughs> Those are like thumbnails of thumbnails! <lmao>
  22. I carry an original Leatherman (also called the PST). It does absolutely everything I ever needed. I've been carrying it on my Sam Brown for 10 years. My wife has one of those super heavyduty Gerber multi tools. She hates how heavy it is. Best part about mine was, I found it laying on the ground. If I ever replace it, it'll probably be for the same one again.
  23. Won't work. Many rail systems require the replacement of the barrel nut. Since the 308AR uses a larger nut, the handguards are not cross compatible. Look for .308 specific parts. A word of warning: 99.999% of the time, you get what you pay for.
  24. Nevermind.... found it (on another thread)
  25. I like it.... Now go shoot it! How does the "fit" feel? Wobble? Weak points? How fast does it stow? How fast to deploy? Does it stay folded well? How much does the BCG insert weigh? I know the closed length, because you told me, but you haven't posted the closed length of the two rifles yet.
