I ain't gonna lie... It's the ringtone on my cellphone! ;D

Red Jacket Firearms built two race-gun AR-15's for the owners of Brownells and Hornady. Brownells.com was kind enough to post/label the rifle on their website so you can see all the parts that were used... Looks like Roger keeps popping up <thumbsup> in all the best places!

You best wash your hands real good. I waited 18 months for that rifle to get finished... You don't even want to know the heinous acts I did when I opened the mail!
-
It is also compatible with Magpul polymer rails. That's what I've been using to keep the weight down. I pulled off the side mount Mod-Pod. I'll install a sling nub tomorrow. I want something "quick detach" instead.

APEX handguards are lightweight and rock solid, although a little pricey. They are also much thinner profile than most. You can get a really good grip on the dang thing.

Is that abnormally large? My .308 was opened up to .099 for better cycling.

The poor kid was having issues qualifying. He was trigger slapping the pistol and no one diagnosed it. I pointed out the issue and showed him how to practice his trigger control. I never did find out how he did. -
Looks great! Can i get mine in red.... Or maybe blonde? <thumbsup>

The standard .308 only requires 15.5" for a complete burn. The benefit of having a barrel longer than 16" won't be seen until you start shooting passed 600 yards.

From Magpul's website: Magpul is pleased to announce the latest additions to the PMAG family: the PMAG 30 M3 and PMAG 30 M3 MagLevel. Like its predecessors, the PMAG 30 M3 is a lightweight 5.56 x 45 NATO / .223 Remington 30-round polymer magazine for the AR15/M16 platform, but with a number of new features which improve its durability, compatibility, and overall performance for the most demanding professional shooters. By combining the knowledge gained from years of PMAG production, extensive research and development of materials and manufacturing processes, and incorporating feedback from a broad range of end-users, the PMAG 30 M3 pushes the envelope of magazine performance one step further. The PMAG 30 M3 features a corrosion-resistant stainless steel spring, four-way anti-tilt follower, pop-off Impact/Dust Cover that snaps onto the floorplate when not in use, and easy tool-less disassembly for cleaning and maintenance. Low-profile ribs and aggressive front and rear texture provide positive control of the magazine while helping ensure compatibility with common double and triple magazine pouches. The easy to disassemble standard flared floorplate provides drop protection and aids extraction from magazine pouches, but can be replaced by a PMAG Ranger Plate for improved handling, or the new M3 Slim-line floor plate to minimize bulk (not included). A paint pen dot matrix (click here for marking guide) has been added to the bottom panel of the magazine body for easy marking by the end user for magazine identification. Modified internal and external geometry provides greater compatibility and function with a wide range of non-AR15/M16 platform weapons. A re-designed bolt catch notch in the rear of the magazine allows increased bolt catch clearance, while an over-travel stop on the spine helps ensure the PMAG 30 M3 will not over-insert on compatible weapons, including the AR15/M16, HK 416, M27 IAR, British SA-80, FN SCAR MK 16/16S, and others. In addition to the expanded feature set and compatibility, the PMAG 30 M3 incorporates new material technology and manufacturing processes that have been engineered to exceed rigorous military performance specifications. By improving strength and durability in critical areas, the PMAG 30 M3 increases overall reliability and lifespan, while decreasing total lifecycle cost.

I'm in. This must be a way to clear out old stock, since the next gen PMAGs are coming soon.

buying a complete upper or new rifle?
Robocop1051 replied to Spaniky73's topic in Rock River Arms LAR-8
I don't understand the aversion to the 5.56 round. There's a reason every NATO country uses it. A lot more of "them" have been killed by the 5.56 than we have been killed by the 7.62x39. Back to your original question: I know one guy in here swears his 14.5" PWS .308 is a serious kick in the pants kind of fun. My personal .308AR is a 17" rifle with a BABC compensator. I'll have pictures up of it soon. If you just want a gun for cheap ammo. Look into the Armalite or Colt (in 7.62x39). I built one from scratch and it was a huge PITA to make 100% reliable. Still gotta be careful with the corrosive ammo. Especially if you put a fancy muzzle device on. I use a PWS FSC30, and it collects a lot of corrosive carbon. If you want a reliable cartridge, without killing your wallet on 6.8 ammo.... 300 AAC Blackout (7.62x35)!!! All the power of the 30 cal, in a reliable format. I was buying Remington 115gr FMJ for $11 per box (20). I shoot it out of a 14.5" carbine with a BABC. -
It's funny. It has been 20ish years since I had to read this. It never sunk in much. Now as I read it, I reflected on the grievances. I thought they were eerily similar to modern conditions. It just puts more weight on my running Rob O Cop 2016!! Look for it!

LR 308 RECON Accuracy

I really like that rifle. Good grouping! -
I'd put a Noveske N6, LaRue OBR, or Colt CM901 against any other 7.62x51 ever made. The 91 and FAL were good guns, but are WAY out classed by top tier 308AR's.

Great to hear! Dont forget to post pictures when you're done. -
That looks like a LOT of fun. I grew up about 15 mins from the old Sears Point Raceway (now called Infineon Raceway) I saw a lot of racing: pro, amateur, drag, track, two-wheel and four-wheels.... Never did I see a wheelie so massive that 3 wheels came off the ground! That's amazing!

Slide fire deffinately was a kick in the pants <thumbsup>. It took some getting used to, but as soon as you figure it out you can't shake the smile off your face. Mike and Jon, I'm really glad y'all made it out. It wouldn't have been the same without you guys there. Mike, keep me updated on that XD40. Jon, thanks again for bringing your 12ga. The girls had a blast on that thing. Seeing two pregnant women shooting that much was really cool. As for Tom and Greg, The fun ain't over yet. -

Single Point Sling adapter for 308 with A2 stock

Unforgiven is on the right track. Look into "receiver plates" or "receiver end plates". They're pretty simple to install too! -
Michael Meyers and Jason Voorhies are the two best slasher villains ever. Screw Freddy and Chucky and all the others. I liked Pennywise, until he turned into that stupid spider thing (god I hate stephan king!) Paranormal Activity was good.

I just bought a giant bottle of heartburn meds, just for the booze! Ever since my surgery, the stuff just burns me up.
