  1. Ack! Even with my discount the Noveske is crazy expensive.
  2. Damnit all!! Will someone find me a 14.5" barrel so I'm not the only one without a 300blk!!
  3. If they were thinner (lighter) I'd more interested. The market for lightweight match grade barrels seems near extinct. I'd especially be interested in a 14.5" 300blk, Carbine Length, Gov contour, that is .740 near the threads.
  4. Let us know if this is sold. We can lock it out to clear up any confusion later.
  5. I'm excited to see the final!
  6. You could just cut out a section here... Then insert a steel, knurled, handle (like on a dumbbell) inside the gap. Close off the exposed edges and you're done. You know the handle would be strong enough. The part is generally inexpensive and readily available. The weight of the steel handle would make up for the loss of any cut away metal. It would still have that savage/beastly look to it... Just my $0.02
  7. Oh gawd no! I am FORCED to put that rifle (H&K G36K) in my patrol car every day. That carry handle/scope/red-dot combo is the worst! I have a whole dept of men and women that HATE that set-up. I have been working for YEARS to get rid of the set-up and go to either a KAC flip sight system, or a standard G36C flat rail with HK open sights. My dept is still sore about dropping $2500 per rifle, so they are weary about dropping more money on them now. I'm not a hater of the rifle, just the carry handle system. I have seen a few custom HK G36-type rifles that I prefer much more. It should look like this! <thumbsup> I think what you need is something more like the M249 SAW... Based on the front end weight of your build... Have you thought about more of a Cheytac approach to carrying that beast?
  8. Funny thing abut Dave, there is no such thing as just calling him to ask ask a quick question. <thumbsup>
  9. The 3H is beautiful. It is still compatible with all uppers, but the lines on the outside don't match up. So, cosmetically, it doesn't look right. I originally wanted a VLTOR upper, so the 3S would have looked nicer. After building it, looking at it, and owning it for a few months... I dont mind the 3H at all. In fact, I just bought more Mega billet uppers!
  10. There is about one inch of exposed barrel in front of the handguard cap. That's all I will have to play with. As for weight. I believe the Magpul is lighter, but this build was more about ergonomics for me... And to be the first! Not only am I making a Dissy... On a 14.5" barrel... I'm also making a hidden piston!
  11. Oh snap! March is here and Wilson Combat should have their 14.7" barrel in stock any day now! I found this little gem online. It looks like a 14.5" Dissipator can be done!? I'm inspired to do it better!
  12. Welcome to our den of addicts and enablers.
  13. Magic "Lee Harvey Oswald" bullets?? A question about "bedding" a rifle. The only rifles I've seen with bedding are M1A/M14's in JAE stocks. Could an AR even be bedded? I thought the whole purpose of having a freefloat was so you didn't have to bed.
  14. I got my info from Jense and Christensen when I called them about CF wrapped barrels. Jense specifically guaranteed a sub .4 MOA if they assembled the upper.
  15. OK, so it's not really mine... But I'm building it <thumbsup>. A friend of mine came to me after hearing I knew a little about guns. He said he wanted something fun to shoot and that he could possibly get into competition with. I explained that it was an expensive sport, and if he was looking for just a "fun gun" he could buy cheaper from GunBroker. He insisted on building a top tier rifle, and is willing to foot the bill. I am sooooooo excited for this build! So far on this build: Mega Arms NiB Billet Ambi GTR-3H Lower (pre-ordered w/ Dave Bransen) Mega Arms NiB MTS Modular Upper V2 - Mid Length (pre-ordered w/ Dave Bransen) Mega Arms (Adams Arms) MTS Piston Kit - Mid Length (pre-ordered w/ Dave Bransen) Noveske N4 14.5" Barrel (from RainierArms.com) Coming Soon: Battlecomp v1.5 (stainless) Geissele S3G Trigger BAD, Inc. Short Throw Ambi Selector H1 Buffer Magpul black furniture No decision has been made on optics yet... This is going to look so sweet! My teeth already ache! Stay tuned for more! <munch>
  16. I didn't mean for things to blow up like that. I don't care where you choose to buy your toys. I just don't want one oops to blow it for a dealer. Mega Arms has stated that the prices are not to be posted publicly. If we break that rule then we risk Mega stopping this deal. To jump on the bandwagon... Dave Bransen is one hellofa guy. I have bought several pieces from him. I have seriously started thinking about do a small side business building for LEO buddies. Dave would be my go to guy for nearly everything.
  17. Only a son can pull at his fathers heart strings like we do. I'm glad to see another proud father amongst our group. Give you son my best wishes as well. I'll add his safety to my prayers.
  18. Jense Precision, Christensen Arms and a few other builders all guarantee sub-1/2MOA groups. You have to expect to pay out past $3k.
  19. Out of respect for the group buy dealers, and their rules, I edited your above post. If anyone is interested in a group buy for Mega Arms, they can persue the information on their own by clicking your link. We also have a Mega Arms group buy HERE. 20. Wow! When was the last time, if ever, that edge has won an argument? <lmao>
  21. JDM was at the Sacramento gun show last week. They were telling people about CalGuns.net.... I tried to drop our site on them... I need a 308AR.com hat or t-shirt!!! My wife has been bugging me for a new Browning Citori in 20ga, and a Colt 1908 25ACP. She is my companion to every Gun Show within 200 miles. Big Reno Show coming in April 6-8 <thumbsup>
  22. As far as my end: I ended up using that CS spring on a lightweight build I did. It worked better in the DI system, than it did on the piston.
  23. It's still magpul plastic. I haven't had any issues with any of mine. I don't take my parts off enough to abuse the rails.
  24. You won't need to bed the MA-Ten. They build their parts to very tight tolerances. The next to important parts for your rifle will be a trigger, and a muzzle device.
