  1. Don't listen to R2, he's senile. The VTAC is awesome. When your ready to suppress, look into an adjustable gb, and possibly a new charging handle (I don't remember which one you have). The PRI M84 Gas Buster charging handle is designed for suppressed rifles... but it's big and bulky, not ambi, and costs $90. The MechArmor TacOps-1 has tighter tolerances that make it suitable for suppressed fire. It's also big and bulky, but it IS ambi and is free when you buy a MechArmor trigger (check out our promo). Just sayin...
  2. Magwa... I'm still planning on hitting the salmon with you one year. It's gonna happen... I'm just afraid my wife will want to go (she loves to fish), and then leave me for an older man.
  3. Good to know. I've been in contact with the owner of 333Kydex, so I'll pass this info along. I know he has made a financial investment to take his company to the next level. He's upgrading from .80 to .90 thickness on external holsters, and he's going to vacuum forming (spell check?) To speed the process and add a bit to cosmetics and cleanliness.
  4. Drug raid, shmug raid..... I want to take this on a car stop!!!
  5. Thanks Frank! It does give us credit. Every click counts, but purchases are logged as well. Going to the "avant" link in our banner is one of the best ways of supporting this website.
  6. www.333Kydex.com I'm always surfing several social media sites looking for new stuff to bring you guys. Lately I've been seeing a newish company making a big surge to be a name in the market. I've seen the 333Kydex holsters online for a while, and they are some of the best looking complete rigs I've seen... IWB, OWB, with or without a light. Mag pouches for single stack, double stack and rifles. I haven't purchased one of these yet, but I have to say that these look as good as some of the top tier companies out there. Keep an eye out for this guy. I sent him an invite to join us. After a brief conversation I got the feeling that this guy is going places.
  7. We did have an update. We actually skipped a few updates and went to the latest version. We are still getting the bugs out, and trimming away the rough edges. Things should smooth out this week. I already started bitching before the patch was finished. Mac, you take care buddy! No more scares like that. If it happens again, we're splitting up your gear before you clear the hospital.
  8. My northface boots held up well, but shifting on my motor has really chewed up my left foot. I'll be in the market for new boots 5his summer. Keen and Merrell are always in my closet for run around shoes. The Merrell MOAB is my favorite so far.
  9. I used to have the Commander, and I love my CQC15 so much more.
  10. I have *almost* this exact same knife (mine is half serrated). It's hands down my most favorite knife and is an integral part of my EDC. You're casing idea is perfect. I don't know why I didn't try that myself. I like this look.... I wonder if I could do an original .45 LC brass. I feel a challenge in my future. You did an awesome job there.
  11. Never be caught with only one knife or one gun.... two is one and one is none.
  12. Man.... I was on one that day. Lol. I forget about this thread, but laugh to myself every time it's brought up or resurrected.
  13. The pin doesn't always go through. It's just for alignment.
  14. I have the old style aluminum barrel clamps. They allow me to do the heavy, m4 and pencil contour.
  15. Troy should take of you. I can't see why they wouldn't. A simple letter saying, "the barrel extension came off one of your barrels, would you please put it back on for me?"... should suffice. It'll be some down time though. I have a barrel clamp system and I rarely ever use it. It's really only needed for muzzle devices. I use crush washers, so there isn'the too much torque involved. Last time I used it, I lost the leather I usually put inside. I tried to use an old tshirt instead, and really messed up the finish on my barrel.
  16. but which one? TacStar? ATI? Mesa? Something else? I think I have to use a 4 shell holder. My foregrip comes back really far over the receiver.
  17. I was going to clean it up some and break out the cold blue... but I didn't want it to lose its character. You just can't make this gun look "pretty". It's sacrilegious! I'm very tempted to add a side saddle now.
  18. Almost forgot... 10.2# loaded with 8 shells of 00Buck and bayonet attached.
  19. I don't plan on chopping and wood with it... but it'll sure as hell go "pokey pokey" on a SOB in a quick second. The lug is slightly undersized, so there's a little wiggle. Not enough to make a rattle though. The lock up is good to go. Easy on and off. The mag tube extension is a perfect fit to the ring on my Lan Cay M9.
  20. That's why I bought it. It has a 1979 ser#.
  21. that picture is what made me look ino busing one. Jacob and I have an unscheduled date for a trench gun competition. The only option I ever knew about before was made by J&W Hardware. That one is waaay too expensive.
  22. I found this little beauty online... For $15 I couldn't resist. I'll likely ditch the rails (supposedly they're removable). Probably ditch the sling nub too (I have something else in use). What you might not have noticed is the little M9 bayonet lug hiding in the back. THAT'S RIGHT! I'M MOUNTING A MTHERFUCKIN BAYONET ON MY 12 GAUGE!!! That's some hardcore zombie hunter shiit right there!

The low profile GB's get pretty damned hot.
  24. This makes you old. I kinda miss that old rag.

Blue Loctite on most screws. A decent hair dryer will loosen it up just enough to break free. Rockset on gas block's and muzzle devices. It's water soluble. If you need to get it off, just soak it for a few hours. No heat needed.
