I could have modified the P227 myself. I think I saw the error, and how I could have fixed it. The issue came down to that little voice in the back of my head.... "it jammed on you too many times, and it could happen again." For a gun that I was going to carry on duty, and depend my life on, I just could afford to have it weigh on my conscience anymore.

Wtg Boog! I was 275# and deathly afraid of diabetes. Some of the guys here can attest to that. I changed my lifestyle to a Paleo (hunter-gatherer) diet, and lost 90 lbs in a 10 months. I've been 185-195 for almost 3 full years now. Bread and pasta are evil. Sugar is poison. Veggies are our friends. Take it easy on the steak. Feast on fish. Eggs are good for you. Bourbon, scotch and whiskey are legitimate "cheat foods".

PPT = Private Party Transfer... California has this silly law that only certain PISTOLS can be sold by FFL's. This does not however prevent PPT's. If the pistol is somehow legally owned, the owner can do a PPT in a FTF (Face to Face) transaction. The G19 Gen4 and G43 are HIGHLY sought after by civilians in CA. Especially since they areally NOT on the approver list. Cops are exempt from the stupid list restrictions. Quite often a cop, or new resident from out of state, will unload their unwanted (off list) pistol... with a considerable mark up. I actually refuse to buy pistols that are named on the list; 1. I know my pistol will never deprecate in value. 2. If I do sell it, that'll put one more unapproved pistol into circulation. Further disproving the legitimacy of the law/restriction.

I have a line on a set of XDm's. One 3.8" and one 4.5". I'll make my own Frankenstein pistol from them if I have to. I'm just trying to clear some space and arrange some effects.
-
I unloaded them, but if YOU buy them I'll include a full box of the ammo.... just be aware that they were loaded in that picture with the same ammo that kept jamming... so you'll probably want to use the ammo in a different pistol. The M&P "Core" is cut for a MRDS, but it only comes in 9mm and .40 cal.... I actually don't have anything against the M&P. It had all the same attributes as the XDm, as far as I was concerned. The XDm just had a much better aftermarket following.

The gun was GREAT.... as long as I only fed it FMJ ball ammo... My duty ammo jams on the feed ramp... even after sending it back to Sig... and 18 different magazines... Unfortunately, I am stuck using this ammo for work as we're required to use dept issued ammo. My only alternative is to go to a different handgun. My current options are a Glock G21 or a M&P. I am actively trying to get Springfield Armory and FNH put on the list, as well as a few others. Dept req's (aside from make/model) are; 45, 9mm or 40... SA/DA, Striker or DAO... compatible w/ a triple threat holster. My personal req's are; 45, light rail, able to accept a MRDS (with or without custom work), more than 10rd capacity (prefer no thumb safety) This puts me in the market for a G41 Gen4 MOS, or a FNX-45 Tactical. Possibly a XDm45 (with a custom slide). I really don't want a Glock, especially one with a long slide. I can't use the FNX's threaded bbl in CA, and I'm not especially excited about the thumb safety. The XDm doesn't come factory with a milled slide.... Where is my dream 45!?!?! Bonuses; the Glock has unparalleled aftermarket options. The FNX is a complete fuckin package of everything, including 15rd mags! The XDm (with a little elbow grase and imagination) may satisfy all the qualities I'm looking for.

Hold on. I have met him though some personal contacts... Let me try to reach out to him. I don't know what good it'll do, but maybe he has an operation in the works already. He was a major part of SWORD Int's publicity team, and I think one of my contacts was a teammate of his YEARS ago. I'll double/triple check that this weekend.

I want an XDm .45 Full Size frame with the 3.8" barrel... I'm willing to buy the ANY of the full size models and trade the larger slide assembly for a smaller one. If you have the compact 3.8" model and always wanted a 4.5" bbl or a 5.25" TB, or even the 5.25" Competition model, this is your opportunity. I have a req into SA to see if they'll build a custom order....?? Doesn't hurt to ask.

I have ten of these mags. If anyone wants them, I'll make a killer deal. $45 ea $400 if you buy the whole set. These mags sell new for $62-$55

The Glock Gen4 G19 and G43 sell for about $1k each in California. The have to be PPT, face to face transactions only. That'll alleviate a little moving expenses if he stocks up high on them. Whereabouts is he moving to in CA?

One of our members here, CSM-H (also my uncle), bought this knife for my father as a retirement gift. He has carried it everyday for nearly 10 years now.

FWIW... we used to have custom membership ranks based on the number of posts you had. The ranks dissolved after an update and never made a come back. The level system is still here, we just don't really use it anymore. We chose to show post numbers and just use the default ranks. -
I wish you had let us know. You'd be amazed how much schit we all have managed to fukc up over the years.

I got a burning itch and it can only be cured with a Takedown 10/22. I'm actually looking for JUST the receiver, if anyone knows where to get one. I'm going to build me a new rat blaster.... For the life of me I can't find an aftermarket takedown receiver???? I have emails out to all the regular shops; TM, Kidd, Volk.... so far no returns. R.I.P. Microgunner... You would've appreciated this the most. Miss ya brother.

Just a heads up, these are posted as "No Go" for the Ruger GSR Scout .308. Stick to the Ruger poly mags if this is your rifle.
-
your buddy will be safe as long as he puts a magazine lock on his rifle and buys some 10 round mags. Personally, I suggest the Raddlock as it can be adjusted for Cali-legal and back to a free state. I have one on all my rifles.
-
I'd try a steel mag and see if you have the same problem. Survivalshop has a rifle that won't use PMAGs, but works fine with steel mags. Remember, don't leave pmags loaded without the covers clipped on. The upward pressure on the polymer lips can weaken them overy time. The covers take the pressure off the lips by pushing down slightly on the top round. I keep all my pmags loaded, but I also keep the covers on. I can't imagine it being anything other than an ammo or mag problem. I've never had a rifle try to strip two rounds at a time and can't think of how one could do that, unintentionally or not. Keep her wet. Chances are, once the gas system gets seasoned, things may start working out properly.

My wife and I were watching Who Wants To Be A Millionaire while we were in bed. I turned to her and said, "Do you want to have Sex?" "No," she answered. I then said, "Is that your final answer?" ... She didn't even look at me this time, simply saying, "Yes.." So I said, "Then I'd like to phone a friend." And that's when the fight started... I took my wife to a French restaurant. The waiter, for some reason, took my order first. "I'll have the rump steak, rare, please." Jokingly, he said, "Aren't you worried about the mad cow?" "Nah, she can order for herself." And that's when the fight started. My wife and I were sitting at a table at her high school reunion, and she kept staring at a drunken man swigging his drink as he sat alone at a nearby table. I asked her, "Do you know him?" "Yes", she sighed, "He's my old boyfriend. I understand he took to drinking right after we split up those many years ago, and I hear he hasn't been sober since." "My God!" I said, "Who would think a person could go on celebrating that long?" And then the fight started... When our lawn mower broke and wouldn't run, my wife kept hinting to me that I should get it fixed. But, somehow I always had something else to take care of first, the shed, the boat, brewing beer, watching TV. Always something more important to me. Finally she thought of a clever way to make her point. When I arrived home one day, I found her seated in the tall grass, busily snipping away with a tiny pair of sewing scissors. I watched silently for a short time and then went into the house. I was gone only a minute, and when I came out again I handed her a toothbrush. I said, "When you finish cutting the grass, you might as well sweep the driveway." The doctors say I will walk again, but I will always have a limp. My wife sat down next to me as I was flipping channels. She asked, "What's on TV?" I said, "Dust." She didn't appreciate that. My wife was hinting about what she wanted for our upcoming anniversary. She said, "I want something shiny that goes from o to 150 in about 3 seconds." I bought her a bathroom scale. And then the fight started. One year, I decided to buy my wife's mother a cemetery plot as a Christmas gift... The next year, I didn't buy her a gift. When she asked me why, I replied, "Well, you still haven't used the gift I bought you last year!" My wife was standing nude, looking in the bedroom mirror. She was not happy with what she saw and said to me, "I feel horrible; I look old, fat and ugly. I really need you to pay me a compliment." I replied, "Your eyesight's damn near perfect." I'm still recovering from this one.

Tula is great blasting ammo. They are often considerably less expensive than the next round, especially if bought in bulk. I shoot the piss outta the 5.56 and 7.62x39 stuff. If you weigh the cost savings and factor that into your gun maintenance, you will actually come out on top. After every 5k rounds of steel 5.56 I will have saved enough money to buy a new barrel and bolt.... with change left over.

+1... It took me forever to find mine. Mainly because I wanted the straight "guide" stock too. I was VERY tempted to chop a few inches off, thread and add a brake to the barrel. My sights are a little off too.
