PWS makes a decent rifle with really good history of customer service. Their "proprietary" parts are just the gas system and carrier. The bolt, fire control group, barrel assembly and buffer system are their design, but I believe they can all be replaced with standard industry parts.

I got a better look at the design (now that I'm not trying to look at it from my phone). I recant my statement about it looking like a AA system. It's nothing similar.

It looks like a replica to Adams Arms short stroke piston system. Complete with their switch block. That design (I own one) has a lot of gas bleed off and isn't very economic. The HK system is a far superior short stroke, as it auto regulates gas flow. The former design also relies to heavily on piston rod alignment and spacing. HK's design autocorrects any alignment shifts. The HK design also has a replaceable piston cup, which it where all the wear is on that system.

The original AR10 is banned in California, as is the original DPMS Panther Arms. There are a plethora of "off list" lowers that are available in California. Almost any stripped lower can be purchased in California. You are responsible for building your semiautomatic rifle with a fixed/locked magazine. You better hurry up too. If Jerry Brown passes the unconstitutional shiiit on his desk, we're all fuq'd.

KAK Ind isn't a "bad" company per se... but I wouldn't put them on part with even the mediocre companies that are out there. They made the claim to fame producing special "AR Pistol" parts, then slowly branched out from there. If you're just looking for something to blast with, there are far better and worse choices. Most guys jump on a Rainier Select barrel as an entry barrel. They are accurate and affordable.

I've tried... unsuccessfully We have a course for those bikes here at Hang Town. Some of those riders make it look like magic. Especially the uphill stuff.

If the P227 comes back out with a stainless carry elite model (like my old P220) I'll likely try Sig again. There's a shiiit ton of variables right now.
