This plate steel version does look a lot better than some of the previous versions I've seen. Unfortunately, my welding skills look like Michael J. Fox trying to thread a needle. I look forward to seeing a finished product.... I reserve the right to talk shiit if you weld anything like i do. Lol. Chances are you don't if you're taking up this project.

For 308AR rifles, even the low vs high rails aren't set in stone measurements. Do not expect cosmetic uniformity unless you buy all your parts from the same manufacturer. Once you start mixing and matching there's always chance for some misalignment.

@DNP, if you want to go the AR-Accessory route, let me know. I have a spare adapter that'll let you attach an AR grip and buffer tube to an 870.

If you're using a bufferless system, don't waste your money on a LAW. Get the Tapco version designed for the .22lr rifles. It's about 1/10th the cost and does the same thing.

I think I'm going to throw a Hyperfire trigger in my next x39 build. I hate getting light strikes. I already invested in a titanium x39 firing pin that's about .003 longer than a standard 5.56 pin. I'm trying to minimize

The AR-10A mag catch has a slightly larger catch. It works great with, and was designed to work with, the Magpul LR20 Magazines. I swapped mine (a DPMS variant) with the AR-10A model and have had ZERO issues with it. The magazine actually sits a little more secure with the beefier catch.

lot of stuff on the board. A long action is one of them. The Magnum AR is taking pressidence right now. I don't see any reason why the long action couldn't be accomplished.

Switch to an Armalite or Phase5 bolt catch. You won't be dissatisfied.

Kinda need to know more about your rifle before we blame the barrel. Which gas block are you using?Are you using a standard Delta Ring barrel nut?Was this an Armalite or DPMS pattern build?Which upper receiver are you using?

Just a heads up... Criterion makes a sweeeeeet .338LM barrel.... Just sayin'

The .338LM is an excellent rifle. It shoots nicer than some of the .308's I've shot. After watching the consumer climate, we started talking about working on a .300WM as well. To be honest, I don't see a significant enough price gap in ammo to warrant the .300WM. I'd rather the .338LM and get a LOT more bullet for just a few cents more per shot.

Holy crap! I had no idea how much the LMT SOPMOD cost. I got one as a "take off" during a custom build from a LMT lower. I just gave it to my father, for his old Colt 6920. He really scored on that one. Lol I guess that's payback for crashing all his cars as a teenage driver.

The Voodoo and Blackhawk pads should suffice. The Masen cheek riser is fairytale now. Same with the DPMS Delta cheek riser. Just be sure you measure for charging handle clearance.
