  1. Only problem with poly lowers, the good ones cost as much as a high end billet.
  2. I thought this was for an AR15, not an AR10. I own forged and billet. Normally I buy Anderson or AeroPrecision forged lowers. They usually run about $40. The only time I buy billet, is if they provide a feature that can't be done on a forged lower... like the integral ambi bolt release.
  3. I bought it for a 10mm build originally. I bailed on the build early. Almost considered a .40cal Glock lower just because of all the free ammo I was getting. I have a buyer looking for a 10mm build. I'm waiting for QC10 or DDLES to make a CA version of their G20/21 lowers again. If you don't take this for your 1911, it'll go on his build.
  4. If you make it threaded, I'll give you my LWD 10mm Comp.
  5. If you don't get it figured out soon, let me know. My family owns a well drilling company. They've been doing water wells for 40+ years.
  6. For some reason "members" were excluded from downloading.... my bad... it was literally just a matter of clicking one stupid box.
  7. Check it out now.
  8. those are almost thumbnail size pics. I'm sure there's larger ones out there.
  9. I agree with SS. If you were so inclined to do so; remove the muzzle device with the appropriate wrench.remove the gas block and slide the whole gas assembly out of the upper receiver, with the gas tube still attached.using a spanner or strap wrench, loosen and remove the barrel nut, with the handguard still attached. replace with parts desired, and reassemble in reverse order.not too difficult
  10. I'll look into it.
  11. 175gr is about as big (long) as you'll be able to load into a magazine. You can ride a single 180gr on the top of a magazine and single load. If you're just killing paper, it shouldn't bother you too much. I personally hunt with 150gr to 155gr.
  12. And they always swallow... big bitches always be hungry!
  13. Big bitches need extra lovin.
  14. Don't forget... these bitches like to run WET. Soak her with some heavy lube until she's broken in.
  15. removing the handguard does nothing to the barrel. Removing the barrel nut will. Once the nut is off, the barrel should just slip out. There are no "screw in" barrels on the AR platform rifles.
  16. For your second question. There's a bunch of videos on YouTube for removing that exact handguard. Heatgun+strap wrench+cussing= completion. An armorers wrench will make short work of the barrel nut once the handguard is removed.
  17. So to answer your first question. There are basically 3 different types/sizes of AR receivers. The small format is the original AR15. It can be chambered in .22lr, 5.45x39, .223/5.56x45, 6.5 Grendel, 6.8SPC, 300Blackout, 7.62x39. It can also be made (with appropriate parts) to chamber pistol loads like 9mm and 45ACP, as well as large bore loads like .50 Beowolf, .450 Bushmaster and .458 Socom. The large format rifle is often called the 308AR, AR10, and LR308. Those are either misnomers or inappropriate vernacular. The large format was originally intended to shoot .308 and 7.62x51, but may also be chambered in .260 Rem, 6.5 Creedmoor, .243 Win, 7mm-06, and I think I'm missing a few more. There are three basic "styles" that are most common, and areally often most distinguished by the rypeople ofor magainze rhey use. The DPMS variant, the Armalite variant and the third/rarer model that utilizes the HK G3 magainze. There are companies like BOHICA and SERBU who make bolt action uppers for the small and large format lowers. These can be chambered in anything, including .50BMG, .408Cheytac, .416 Barrett. There are even a crossbow and spear-gun uppers for the small format rifles. The last size is newer to the market, and usually VERY proprietary. The Magnum AR can normally be found in .300WinMag and .338 Lapua Magnum. There have been 30-06 and .270 rifles made, but none were successful in their marketing. A 12g and a 20g were attempted on the large format, but the company (Fidelis Arms) failed before the prototype ever got released.
  18. Yes, because every $1500 rifle needs a $3k scope... wtf?
  19. I'm a fan of the Magpul + grips too. The LaRue grip is a big meaty bonus. Never forget about the original Panther grip. You can still find the rubber version of the Panther grip now and then. My dirty favorite is the Pachmayr Gripper... so fukin sexy it hurts. It weighs more than a boat anchor but it feels sooooo good. Like banging a body building chick! DPMS has a metric shit ton of different models over the years. Post a pic of your rifle and we'll help source out some new parts for you.
  20. Faxon and Criterion make the best cost/quality barrel you find. Both are stallar "made in USA" companies. If you are used to using a micrometer to measure your targets, check out PROOF or even Drake... but expect to spend $1k or more.
  21. I agree with SS (who is yet to be wrong... ever!) Looks like the Spikes Enhanced or the ALG ACT. If it's even close, it's a damp fine trigger. I can usually find a sale on the ALG ACT for around $50. I may just stick with the MechArmor triggers for now.

    870 gear

Common... admit it. the last one is kinda cool. Who wouldn't want a suppressed 30-30. Y'all know The Duke would've used one.

How "tactical" does he want to go with that 30-30? It can be done!!!
  24. You have no excuse to keeping your targets at 100 feet now. You're going to have to start using the big-boy range. LOL Glad to hear you're doing good.
  25. Numrich is my go-to spot. If they are out, I'm out of clues.
