  1. That's straight-up NOT the case, right there. You got it right, with that - from where ever you found that info. Heavy bullets have to spin faster for that very reason. Your 168-through-1:10 twist, but 175-not is inaccurate, though. Go research the twist rate on the M110, find out why it was chosen, and what the mandated load for that rifle was. That'll shake you up.
  2. FUK. THEM. If they were on fire, I wouldn't piss on them to put them out.
  3. Come on out to Phoenix - it's a natural phenomenon out here. Spontaneous Car Combustion, routinely. Happens about as much as highway rollovers. I kid you not. Wash! That's a damn good time, right there brother!!! <thumbsup>
  4. Painting again tonight, men! I'm going to see what happens to air-dry Cerakote when you bake it afterwards... <dontknow> <thumbsup> Experimental Discovery - you can use Cerakote C-Series (air dry) on your stuff, and you can bake it at low temps. Perfect for plastics, woods, non-metal parts, etc. Baked some tonight at 170 degrees for 3 hours. Take parts out, let them cool, assembly immediately. Like, right now. Stuff is harder than woodpecker lips. :hethan:
  5. ^^^ SEE?!!? It already happened. That $hit Just Happened... <lmao>
  6. $hit, I've got entire rifles because of The Rule. It happens. Just try not to let it happen to YOU. <lmao>
  7. You're right. That damn thing won't be finished until there's a 300BLK EOTech sitting on it - in Cerakote Snow White. :rant2: I have definitely tried to steer this train off the tracks before, and been promptly accused of it... <laughs> See below...
  8. I'll be prepping some MagPul polymer stuff on Saturday night, for paint Sunday morning. I'll let you know what I do. NOT USING acetone, that's for damn sure. I picked up some denatured alcohol to hit them with, though. They'll go into the little plastic tub with that stuff, and sloshed all around, that's for sure. I'll gas them out at 150 degrees for about 30 minutes. I'll let you know if it works - or post pics of melted goo in the bottom of my oven... <lmao>
  9. That Radical Little Fur-Missile has been quite calm these days. I still let him out, but he's content in the backyard. Caught him on the wall one day, that separates the two properties. The dogs on the other side were going buck-nutty, but he was just watching them. Fucker did chew up one of my shooting mats, though. :bat:
  10. What Rob posted is sad, but face it - anything that's black is damn near like Glow-In-The-Dark through NODs. Just paint your stuff anything but black, and it's harder to see. When we had Woodland BDUs, the four-color stuff, light and dark brown, green and black, I used to spraypaint field uniforms and cover the black. Worked, too. Damn well, I might add.
  11. ^^^ <lmao> Still have more to paint. I'll get to the furniture on Sunday morning. Should be able to assemble it Monday night. THEN... it'll be finished.
  12. Thank ya, fellas, thank ya. But it's not finished yet. Not until I get the furniture, some small parts, and one magazine sprayed. She's been dying to have that thing setup like that since she swiped this edition of Recoil mag:
  13. They make it in these colors... <lmao> :tweed:
  14. Oh, it happened... Ladies and Gentlemen (and those gentlemen that are acting like ladies right now)... I present to you, Cerakote Snow White. Dawn Marie's Ghost Gun. There's still another color to apply, and that'll happen in the next week - THEN it can finally be finished. Here's the main components, though.
  15. The flip-flops are right on, for Hadji Bob shooting style! <lmao>
  16. Everything is in the oven right now. About another hour & 45 minutes and I'll be able to pull them out and let them cool. Y'all gonna $hit...
  17. I'm painting today, brother - you already know what the color is. That's the bake on stuff, which will be ready to assemble after it comes out of the heat. The air-dry color won't be ready for a few days.
  18. Cerakote sez... ***In most cases it is not necessary or recommended to soak plastic and polymer parts in a solvent-based degreaser as to avoid damaging the part. Thoroughly wiping plastic and polymer parts with a compatible degreasing solvent is sufficient.
  19. Not gas, brother. "Gassing them out" means applying heat to them to force-dry the parts you've soaked.
  20. Got it - found it again: The new Patent Pending NEAG Inc Compact Carbine Stock (CCS) is the ultimate solution for close protection guns: a collapsible stock which renders the NEA-15 7.5” PDW only 21 inches in overall length - nearly 2 inches shorter than a fully collapsed MP5A5, with proven 5.56m NATO performance. A true collapsible stock with a total weight of only 1.5 lbs; only 1oz heavier than a traditional 6-position carbine stock system with buffer and spring. The minimum length is a scant 4.75”, while the fully extended CCS stretches to 8.5” for maximum ergonomic range even on rifles designed expressly for extreme compact size. Materials are 6061-T6 Aluminum and 4041 steel with NEA’s proprietary ARC+ surface treatment. The NEAG Inc CCS is the final evolution of a project intended to provide end users with the ultimate in rifle portability and concealability. Features a single point sling point. These do not work with piston driven AR's. http://www.neaginc.com/3_accessories.html
  21. I think it's someone else - I don't think SPEX makes that one. I found the damn company a few months ago. Even on the SPEX webpage, they say, "SPEX Defense builds many of our own unique products." They build many, but I'm not sure if they build all...
  22. Duracoat, don't know. Cerakote, soak your plastic parts for 2 hours, the gas them out in the oven, 150 degrees for 2 hours. If there was no oily residue on the parts after the gas-out, then paint them. If there was oily residue, soak them again and back into the oven.
  23. Hey, come on already, let's get this damn thing painted, huh?
  24. I can definitely vouch for that - you are both awesome, honest people. There aren't many like you guys left, and it's an honor to know you. <thumbsup>
