^^^ They didn't have to do much work - ACUs didn't work worth a damn in Afghanistan, and Crye Precision developed the multicam for them, and put it on people. Basically, they had someone move the colors around a little, or make subtle changes to Crye Multicam, and called it their own - without a doubt to avoid paying CP for the design. Same exact $hit they did with their "new, improved" mag followers. Make a change, call it your own, and don't pay MagPul for the design. They probably STILL paid too much.

Picking up the paint gun today - might even strip everything down and just get to the paint!

Drive out to ADCO and let Steve look at your rifle. There isn't anyone better qualified to diagnose your issue, in person, than him. You're lucky you live that close - he's one of the best AR Armorers in the entire country. He's in Sylvania. EDIT - Call first, and set it up. Don't just drive out there...

LaRue RISR on a MagPul MOE stock, just to try it out. That's an option. Better option than what you're considering, IMHO.

Second look at the carrier - that's not a 5.56 carrier... Very concerning... But not a 5.56 BCG... M4-looking feedramps don't look right - in a 308. Something not right going on. Upper ramps are one angle, barrel ramps are another... Lots going on here, but WTF is going on here... <dontknow> EDIT - just re-read all the initial stuff - chambers by hand. Bolt locks into place, all the way forward? Fully seated bolt? Out of ideas at this point...

I was also wondering this - from the marks on the brass, and only SO far on the brass, it looks like a 308 Win bullet was jammed about as far in as it can possibly go... into a 300BLK barrel. Cartridge base won't even seat into the bolt face - looks like trying to jam a 308 Win cartridge into a 5.56 bolt...

Buying the complete rifle up front wouldn't be a bad thing, either. Shoot right away, on a factory platform that WILL work, and change what you want as you go along (and determine what you want different). Get the Armalite, buy a bunch of Pmags, and have fun. <thumbsup>

Yep, I'm seeing something similar from that last batch of pics (EDIT - from that last batch of pics prior to, and right above, Rob's post that I quoted) - I'm seeing the centerline of the cartridge that's ABOVE the centerline of that bolt. That's a machining issue. A pretty big machining issue. If that's what it really is...
