Hell no, that wasn't Drew. There's no peanut butter, and the dog is missing... <lmao>

Dude!!! Is THAT A PIC OF JON JON?!!? Holy $hit that kid is grown up!!! I need to dig up some DynaTek information, but I'm pretty sure we can tap a piggyback unit into the stock ECU and alter ignition timing. I've done it on some of the turbo builds, with a generic box (which all look the same from them), but it's been an offered piece for that year/model. I think it's completely possible. If it's not, I still talk to Kelly, and he can/would figure it out, and make that happen. We can probably raid his shop at night and run all this stuff on the dyno. Play/Tune/Whatever. Interrupt him from wrking on something... <lmao> Dave misses us hanging around his shop, too- misses that pretty bad. That's almost always available for us. <thumbsup> Dave was so damn worried about not being able to get ahold of you, that he drove my MY place and asked me about you - that was the day I called... You should have seen the "relieved look" on his face when you answered... <laughs> Then we went to lunch...

That guys that TAZ quoted above... if you guys knew what he did for a living, you'd SHAT your pants. I'm very serious about that. That guy makes big horsepower for very big people... Ron, you need to get JR involved in the rebuild on the 109 engine. We know we can go 117 on the pistons, know how to get more lift on the cams, and the electronic stuff is easy now. Porting and valve work is done. We can probably taper-bore the throttle bodies from 56 to 58 - I don't know if you guys have tried that yet. Airbox needs to go. The power is there, we just need to get it out, and to the tire. Without nitrous. I can already see an entire forum of butthurt happening, somewhere else. <lmao>

Nobody here knows Frank, brother - just me. Frank is retired Border Patrol. He and I go WAY back... WAY BACK to him investigating some of my Soldiers when I was still in, and HIM telling ME the information I was going to provide him over the phone. He was pretty demanding, and that must have worked for him in the past. I promptly told him he could GOFUCKHIMSELF in those exact terms, and hung up on him. I guess, as a federal agent, he'd never heard that before... <lmao> I don't give a fuk who you are, or what agency you work for, you don't call up a military installation and tell someone running a military company what they are going to do - you check your federal-agent a$s in at the front gate and request to visit a unit, and REQUEST information from that unit HMFIC. Head MotherFucker In Charge. I guess in that first phonecall, I got a dose of "Pissed Off Frank," and in turn, he got a big dose of "Little Tommy..." That first phonecall didn't go so well... We've been very, VERY good friends ever since. He's one of my best friends. His birthday was yesterday, and I didn't call him - I'm living vicariously through you right now... <laughs> That is one good dude, and definitely someone you want on your side. Since you're in that area, I wanted you to know who he is. I'll be down there before too long to visit him, so if you're available, it'll be a steak dinner that you won't soon forget. I just hope nobody starts smashing plates over their own head again... :yup: :hail: :bat:

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2

Slings. Running short on slings. Ordered a grip of them. It's worse than BAD-ASS safeties around here... <dontknow> -
Hoooooly $HIT! I retract that statement!!! I've got a Weaver K4 on the M1903A4 Springfield rifle! I completely forgot about that one.

I recently went with a fixed power scope for a few reasons. Outside of shooting fixed 4x power scopes on airguns as a kid, I've never owned one on one of my current rifles - so that left me hesitant in the decision-buying process. The only fixed power scope I've ever shot on a military rifle was an ACOG 4x. I didn't care for it much, but that's just me. I had to narrow alot of things down, and it was more "the rifle" that decided more than anything else. That's a factor that you shouldn't overlook when looking for a scope, and up to this point, it WAS something I was overlooking. Once I realized it, the decision to buy this scope was very, very easy. I picked up the Nikon 3x-fixed "BDC Carbine" scope. Now, when I explain the rifle's characteristics, and my intent for it, along with Nikon's intent for this scope, it all becomes clear. By now, everybody has heard of the Mossberg MVP rifles - bolt guns that run detachable mages (AR mags - even the 308 MVP now). The "little" MVP is chambered for 5.56 NATO instead of other bolt gun offerings that are chambered in .223 Remington. Shoot whatever ammo you can get, be it .223 Rem or 5.56. It's also a 1:9 twist barrel, so projectiles come into play - 1:9 should shoot 55-grain ammo just fine. It's not going to excel at launching 77-grain Sierra BTHPs at 800 yards... The rifle's limitations are in the factory twist rate, which will dictate the ammo run through it, which will dictate the range it can be counted on for... So, for all that, it's pretty much subjected to 600 yards and under, without a doubt. Now, the purpose of the rifle. It feeds from any AR15 mag, has an 18" shallow-fluted, semi-heavy barrel, and should be good for multiple shots at different distances. Should maintain it's inherent accuracy, based on it's design. It's extremely light for what it is, and I wanted to keep it that way. Originally, I slapped a 3-9x40 on it, but the scope seemed like too much for the rifle, both in scope length and scope weight. It also made carry the damn thing around with one hand kinda awkward. I looked at several scopes for it, after having the 3-9 on there, and I was looking for something light, something short (carrying), and something that would still get me to 600 yards. I looked at a bunch of 1-4 scopes just prior to this, and almost went with another one. I almost had one to the counter, and spotted the Nikon BDC Carbine... Gave it a look, and really thought about it. Already setup from the factory for a 55-grain projo. BDC reticle set for a 200-yard crosshair zero, with two ticks in the BDC for 400 and 600. Light as all hell, short, too. Hmmm... Kinda REALLY fits the bill for this rifle. Fixed at 3x power makes it even lighter, shorter, and - as others have mentioned - less to worry about. Max range on it, via the BDC, is 600, and that's about the max range of the round I can run through this rifle... What's not to like? I left with it. Bottom line is this - you need to factor alot of stuff into buying a scope. It needs to fit YOUR needs, the RIFLE'S needs, it needs to fit your intent, your capabilities, the rifle's capabilities, the capabilities of your ammunition, etc. Once you find the scope that you need, you'll know it immediately. The first time you shoot it on that rifle, you'll know. It just might take two or three scopes to get there, but it is what it is. <thumbsup> Gratuitous Gun Porn, full rifle pic...

Did pick up the new spray gun yesterday - didn't have time to prep anything, rip her rifle apart, etc. I'm shooting Sunday, so maybe later in the afternoon I can get busy getting everything ready. The beauty of the Cerakote is that once I shoot it and bake it - I let it cool and reassemble the rifle, and beat the $hit out of the rifle. What's not to like?

You don't need to bring enough fuel for a week - we run into town and stock up when we need to. Usually, someone is running into town daily, for more ice for the coolers. I'm just sayin'... You can run the YFZ on knobs, too - don't need paddles. When you put an a$s-whoopin' on someone with paddles, it makes it that much better. <lmao> -

Fuckit, he's in. Adam, typically, and for the last 10 years straight, we do a week in the dunes for T-Day. From this baord here, it's me and DNP (Dirk) and family - plus a $hitload of other people. THIS year, we're switching to Halloween for the week-trip. I'll still go for T-Day, but just the 4-day weekend. We have a buddy from Oklahomo that gets tired of coming out for a week at the end of November, then driving home at the beginning of December - and wrecking his truck is some fucking mid-west snowstorm on the way home. This year, we're doing "the week" earlier, so he doesn't have to wreck his truck again... <lmao> -

Aero Precision M5 upper and lower... .308 receivers
98Z5V replied to 98Z5V's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
That's what we preach, and have known, for years. Doesn't matter what platform your upper and lower are (those two have to match), but you can run Armalite guts in a DPMS-based upper and lower, and vice-versa. Sorry, RRA guys, that's not for you - you guys have to stick to your own proprietary $hit. Thank Bushmaster for that... -
That's a good looking color, brother - looks damn good on a rifle when you're done, and shooting it. Grows on ya. <thumbsup>
-
Bull$hit. That's why God invented FDE.
-
For what it's worth - Rob ROCKED The Pinky!!! Which is a damn nice rifle, all said. It's a better "range loaner" than some guys build for a primary rifle. <thumbsup>

That's sweet and everything, but even YOU need to take a day off once in awhile... <lmao>

^^^ He's in - right there it is MIke. You need to plan to shoot with me and Ron on Sunday. Shibi, you're not off the hook either...

You will if you have the sack to show up for the Halloween sand trip - I'll make you sweat, even in your new "svelte" form... <lmao> You better hang onto BOTH those lungs, and I can damn sure tell ya right now you're gonna need BOTH those kidneys for that trip... <laughs> :ecs: -
BWAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!! As you were typing that, I was putting lead on steel. I'll be back out there Sunday morning, brother - come on down. I'll give you a shout about it.
-
^^^ HELL YEAH!... Sad thing is, I know we can do that, too. Pod filters, $hitcan the airbox, play with the injectors - and everything else that's already been done. Some people are gonna $hit some britches... <lmao>

AR15 charging handle is too short. Must use one for the .308 AR.
