  1. I'll let you know how an EOTech does in the oven, in about a week. I should be spraying another rifle coming up very soon. You'll see what happens with Patriot Brown bake-on, and the plastic battery cover. My MagPul plastic did great at 170 degrees and 3 hours, so the EOTech 512 battery cover should do just fine, also. I'll confirm its inherent resilience to heat with pictures here... <lmao> EDIT - info for others. I'm not baking the whole damn holographic sight. Just the outer hood and battery cover... :bitchslap: I am NOT looking forward to breaking this bastard down and sandblasting it...
  2. 51t AAC Brakeout, of course. <thumbsup>
  3. I'm not kidding you guys, when I met Rob the first time (which is a funny story all by itself... <lmao>), he had all that stuff on. ALL OF IT. He says, "what are you carrying?" At the time, I have the 4" 1911 with 8rd mag and one in the chamber, plus a 10rd spare mag. I ask him, "What are YOU carrying?" It was like a cartoon - he kept pulling out more and more stuff... <laughs> Not long after that trip, I picked up the XD45, 13rd mag and one in the chamber, with two 15rd mags as spares. 44 rounds of .45 ACP on me - just so I could feel "adequate" if he showed up again... <lmao> Love, ya, brother! :happydrunks:
  4. I just thought you didn't like me anymore... <lmao>
  5. My next 308 AR project will be rollin' a 14.5" barrel, and a pinned muzzle device. If I can find a Noveske 13.7" barrel, it'll be even better.
  6. Larry, the 300BLK EOTech is model XPS2-300. That designation is now changed on EOTech's website, and they're just listing it as the "Model 300" now. http://www.eotechinc.com/holographic-weapon-sights/model-300 There's probably a $hit-ton if retail websites still calling it the XPS2-300, though. Cool thing about this reticle is: 1 MOA center dots - I've talked about those in previous Aimpoint-vs-EOTech threads. Two aiming dots, for 100 and 300. It's tough to setup a zero on a 300Blackout optic and HAVE a zero at 100 yards and 300 yards - it's in the ballistics of the round. This gives you that. BUT... The bottom of that 65 MOA outer circle - you place the bottom of the circle on your target, and it's zero'd for 7 yards. This optic can do it all for 300BLK. That's damn awesome badassery, right there. <thumbsup>
  7. Oh, there was only one attempt at this one. I made damn sure that oven was clean before sticking gun parts in there. <thumbsup> I just don't want anybody trying out Cerakote and thinking it sucks, just because they still have last year's "Christmas Ham remnants" in the bottom of their oven... <lmao>
  8. All the different materials, leather colors, carved or uncarved, airbrushed, etc. He offers alot of stuff. Take your time and pick a good one. Mine for the 4" 1911 is the Sunset Duotone. Love that holster.
  9. Make sure you check all the leather treatments he can do, because there are alot of them! I've got this exact holster for a 4" 1911, and love it.
  10. Hell brother, I don't have anything to load 9mm. No projos, no pistol primers, nada. I do have about 200 rounds already loaded into UZI mags, though. Definitely off Sunday. I'm ready to hit the range again. Might pick up another gong.
  11. I second Rob's recommendation, Mernickle holsters are fantastic.
  12. Can't even tell it was done in the house, guys. No stinking up the house, no residual smell, nothing. Dirk, you could pull this while Dusty was at work, and she wouldn't even know you'd done it. <thumbsup> Make sure you clean your oven really, really well before you do this - if it's all nasty inside, that's gonna be in the heat when your parts are cooking. Clean your ovens!!!
  13. Thank you, thank you. I'll be here the rest of the evening. Sit back, grab a drink and enjoy the show. Remember to tip your server... <lmao> That's an impressive pile of parts coming together!
  14. I'm in, unless we get killed by rain right before then. <thumbsup> Oh, I found out what happened to the pin that went into the target stand leg - you shot it. <lmao>
  15. beach, never have had any problems with Bud's. Bought 2 or 3 rifles from them, everything went smooth.
  16. C-228 Tactical Grey.
  17. I still need to get a 24c and try it. I've been wanting to for awhile, it's just that the money goes to something else when I've got it... <lmao>
  18. What kind of work? What do you do?
  19. Right here, brother - I'm calling this one finished, minus rezeroing the sights now. It'll end up with the 300BLK EOTech on it eventually. Cerakote Snow White H-Series bake on, and Tactical Gray C-Series air dry. Baked the airdry anyway. All the now-gray parts were prepped as follows: 1. Fully disassembled and soaked in Denatured Alcohol for 10~15 minutes. 2. Racked/hung in the oven at 170 degrees for 30 minutes for the gas-out. 3. Painted, allowed to hang for 30 minutes. 4. Baked at 170 degrees for 3 hours. 5. Reassembled directly after cooling.
  20. How many quality single stage triggers do you have? You need to quantify this when you make statements like you have. List your comparo triggers this one is going against. <dontknow>
  21. I'll even offer to Cerakote-paint match Ron's new EI bipod to his MRAD. Fo Fwee. I'll even pay shipping back and forth between he and I. <dontknow> <thumbsup>
  22. I could kill myself on much less than that - damn near have, many a time! <laughs>
  23. Oh, I haven't. Never will. The plan is "The Plan." No deviation, my brother. <thumbsup>
  24. ^^^ Instigator... <lmao>
  25. The updates today, while I was at work - that was KILLING ME!!! Everytime you sent something, I was letting the other guys know. <thumbsup> That 6-something Sportsmans class is FUKKIN NUTS!!! One of the guys at work thought I was talking about a Polaris Sportsman "farm quad..." <lmao> <laughs>
