Her BLK already got blasted down to bare metal a few months ago. She's been shooting it naked. It gets painted - finally - and she'll be happy. It's NOT any form of pink, however. You guys will be shocked when you see how it turns out. <thumbsup>

I can't believe you made those beautiful rifles - but you're afraid to make the ammo that goes through them... <lmao>

^^^ That's some damn fine shootin', right there. DAMN fine. <thumbsup>

And it's a victory for every gun owner. <thumbsup> Federal judge rules DC ban on gun carry rights unconstitutional http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/07/26/emily-miller-federal-judge-rules-dc-ban-on-gun-carry-rights-unconstitutional/ A federal judge in the District of Columbia on Saturday overturned the city’s total ban on residents being allowing to carry firearms outside their home in a landmark decision for gun-rights activists. Judge Frederick Scullin Jr. wrote in his ruling in Palmer v. District of Columbia that the right to bear arms extends outside the home, therefore gun-control laws in the nation’s capital are “unconstitutional.” Click here to read the decision. “We won,” Alan Gura, the lead attorney for the Second Amendment Foundation, told Fox News in a phone interview. “I’m very pleased with the decision that the city can’t forbid the exercise of a fundamental constitutional right." Gura said he expects the District to appeal this decision but added, “We’ll be happy to keep the fight going.” The decision leaves no gray area in gun-carrying rights. Judge Sculin extensively referenced the Supreme Court decisions in District of Columbia v. Heller (2008) and McDonald v. Chicago (2010) to concluding “there is no longer any basis on which this court can conclude that the District of Columbia's total ban on the public carrying of ready-to-use handguns outside the home is constitutional under any level of scrutiny.” The court ordered the city to now allow residents from the District and other states to carry weapon within its boundaries. Judge Scullin wrote that the court “enjoins Defendants from enforcing the home limitations of [D.C. firearms laws] unless and until such time as the District of Columbia adopts a licensing mechanism consistent with constitutional standards enabling people to exercise their Second Amendment right to bear arms.” The defendants are the city government and Police Chief Cathy L. Lanier. This case has dragged in the courts for five years. Gura has twice asked the federal appeals court to force Judge Scullin to issue a decision. The five plaintiffs filed in 2009, and the case was argued twice, most recently in Oct. 2012. George Lyon, a D.C. resident and registered gun owner is one of the plaintiffs in Palmer. “I am gratified that after a long wait our right to protect ourselves and our families has been vindicated,” Lyon, a lawyer, said Saturday. He urged Mayor Vincent Gray, a Democrat, and the Democrat-controlled City Council to “swiftly enact a concealed carry law that protects the rights of law abiding citizens to protect themselves.” Gray and D.C. City Council Chairman Phil Mendelson did not respond immediately for a request for comment.

However, if they're 40mm Thumpers, and not 37mm guns, then they have a whole arsenal of different rounds at their (military) disposal- HE, HEDP, WP, Cannister rounds, Flechette rounds, etc. You can't shoot that $hit ^^^ from a 37mm gun...

Where's MikeDaddy? I'm ready to make a plan for my place. I can shoot at anytime. I'll be taking portable shade with me, too. Already have targets cut. Mike might have to drive, depending on what time he wants to shoot, because I need to do a wheel bearing on the little truck. Hell, Mike, just get to my place and we'll drive the Big GasPig. <thumbsup>

Will be conducting some painting in the near future - stay tuned. Pick up some Cerakote Tactical Gray, Patriot Brown, and another color... Stay tuned for some Black Rifle Painting... :hethan:

Talking back and forth with MikeDaddy right now - I think I can lure him here on Sunday to shoot. Any other AZ guys wanna get in on this? Jon? Shibi? blue? Jon and blue have a further commute to make, but could carpool - Shib, you'd have a drive south to make. LARRY! You'd have to leave NM at 3pm tomorrow, get here at night - but I have a bed for you! <lmao> I'll cook afterwards... <thumbsup> Bring it.

What's your concern on the forward assist? What is it that you're seeing that doesn't make sense with it? -
^^^ You need to move to Germany, then - you're a "demonstration team" all by yourself... <lmao> Welcome aboard, OP. <thumbsup>

Aero Precision M5 upper and lower... .308 receivers

That was an AR15 BCG pictured in that link, and if you look at the link title, it states AR15 in it. They had the print underneath as ".308" but that's what's wrong with the page. That's no .308 carrier at all, but it is an AR15 carrier. -
Monsoon season, brother - we get a little humidity in July and some of August, just based on that. Combine some humidity to the temps we get, and it's fukkin brutal. You sure did, my good man - it was wearing the 3-9x40 on it then. <thumbsup> For a short, mag-fed .308 bolt gun, I'm VERY partial to the Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle. VERY partial to it. I think it's the perfect rifle. It's here:

^^^ The guys at my old shop raced those in Dirt Track, in a "Mod Lite" class. LIter-bike engines. These guys were running 2008 Kawasaki ZX-10 engines. Unreal in a 1/2 mile dirt track, 140mph in the straights. Nuts. This right here IS one of the shop cars, the owner's son's car:

Meprolight Tritium sights - they are awesome. Run them on 3 different pistols. Worthy of a look. <thumbsup>

Does using a heavy buffer affect what ammo you can use?
98Z5V replied to dgtaurus's topic in .308AR Parts
Brother, can you travel south into "forbidden territory" with your stuff? Some of it, anyway? Can you shoot it in VA? I've got a good range for you in VA, if so. Might be a drive, but bring a cooler and a grill. I'm just sayin'... CF Phelps WMA Range. http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/wmas/range_rules.pdf Worth your drive, if you don't catch it on a busy day, brother. Do the drive. <lmao> -

^^^ You'll love 'em, man. <thumbsup> -
The comments in that link are pretty cool - the know-it-alls on suppressors don't know what the fuk they're talking about. One guy sets them straight. Makes me want to spam the $hit out of their FB accounts with suppressor information... <lmao>

^^^ Proof right there that he intends to dig you up, Pappy, should something happen. Rene NAILED it! Proof. Pap, you need to watch that shady Greg bastard. <lmao>

^^^ Very good points - we have no idea what parts were used to build the stripped lower receiver. OP, $hit out the details and we can help. <thumbsup>

Welcome aboard, big time, OP. When former military members make an into thread, this is exactly what it should look like. We don't need to find out later that someone is NavSpecWar, and that kinda ninja $hit wasn't announced in their intro... pruhdlr, that comment wasn't aimed at you - you're very welcomed here, my good man, and I'm damn glad to have you here. <thumbsup>

Before you go after that Burris PEPR, look around at what's available - that PEPR is a heavy one, I've got one. When you start going after triggers, hit me up. Describe what your after in a trigger, and I'll set you up for one that you'll love. Welcome aboard, man. <thumbsup>

You bought a complete upper from Armalite, and that would have fired, for sure. You replaced the handguard (with barrel nut, also?) and the gas block. What model of Troy handguard did you use, because some Troy's run directly on Armalite barrel nuts. You need to focus on the parts on that upper that you changed - the problem lies in that. Not trying to be mean about it, but something with the parts you installed is not running that upper.

Where the hell did gnat's reply go?! I had something to say to him about his comment, but I wasn't saying it at that time. It should bave been directly above shepp's reply, right after Greg's. gnat, you have much to learn. You might be borderline Socially-Ignorant.
