  1. Well done - but I'd get rid of that gas tube anyway. It's short - gas tubes should end directly in the center of the cam pin cutout, in a perfect world. You may have adjust a gas port for a recoil system problem. Your recoil system specs for a Large Frame are way off. Recoil spring is way off - not even a proper spring for the M4. Let alone a Large Frame. Your buffer weighs 3.8oz, just by your description, and it has an aluminum body. Only way to get a 2.500" buffer close to the necessary 5.4oz is if it uses a stainless steel body, and those same two tungsten weights in it. Buffer needs to weight 5.4oz, or pretty damn close, for a proper recoil system in these big things. You're obviously using the AR15 carbine receiver extension, which is 7.000" internal depth, or you wouldn't be running a 2.500" buffer without damage to the gun. Perfect would be Armalite's spec at 6 15/16" internal depth, but nobody in the aftermarket follows that, at all, and they make them 7.000" internal. No big deal, they all work. The proper spring for that setup - there's only one - is the Sprinco Orange spring - with the correct buffer weight, in the (very close) 5.4oz range. If it runs, it runs. If you want to fix it the recoil system to make it more reliable, you might be drilling that gas port up again. I think my gas port calculations for this setup - with a proper recoil system - were higher than 0.080". Just my $0.02 on it all.
  2. This thread right here is precisely why we have the Waterboarding Thread. The waterboarding thread was blessed upon us, after having to ask questions forever, just to get accurate gun details from people - this isn't a dig on you @BeeKay - just a statement, for those that read here in the future. Here's the Waterboarding Thread: ^^^ THAT is the level of detail necessary to diagnose a gas gun problem, over the internet, reading typed words from someone. That's the information required to figure out what's going on with someone's non-operational gas gun.
  3. 9 11/16 is what you need to be at, so measure closely. If it's not 9 11/16" internal depth, then it's out of spec. You need one more 1/16" for it to be right - or it's wrong.
  4. The Red is. Or, the Armalite EA-1095 spring. That's all I'd use - but you better verify that extension length. INTERNAL DEPTH is the only thing that matters here. The Green spring is for barrels longer than 20", sometimes, in Large Frames. It's an M16 rifle spring, not a .308 rifle spring. The Green spring is for use in A1 / A2 fixed stock rifle length receiver extensions (buffer tubes) with rifle length buffers. It is also extremely popular in intermediate depth (7.75 “ deep) VLTOR A5 buffer tubes with 4” A5 buffers. The spring design loads of the Green spring are those of a BRAND NEW mil-spec buffer spring. The Blue spring is for 14.5" carbine (M4s) or 16" carbine 5.56 guns, as a stiffer spring. It's not for Large Frames. Gas System doesn't matter - it really doesn't matter. This is the Recoil System that you're working on. Both need to be balanced, and we have the formula to get them balanced. Read this when you have the time - it'll pay dividends, down the road...
  5. Quick reply - I hope that's the wrong dimension. Just started reading this thread.
  6. ^^^Truth right there. 5.56 - fuk head spacing those things, the platform has been in production for half a century, and every manufacturer has the prints. That's easy. Large Frames, though? Better head space check these big bitches. I'm just sayin'...
  7. Love this guy. Check it.
  8. This is a tremendous sale, and Larue is into the 6 ARC NOW!!! This sale runs to the end, and the end is Feb 14th. Get it quick. Overall, these prices are very cheap. Full gun, $1999: https://www.larue.com/products/larue-tactical-16-black-and-tan-6mm-arc-1/?mc_cid=1a9db677c7&mc_eid=bd9d7dbc01 Just the upper, in black, 799 - THIS IS A STEAL, for what you're getting!.. Unreal! https://www.larue.com/products/larue-complete-16-6mm-arc-match-grade-upper/?mc_cid=1a9db677c7&mc_eid=bd9d7dbc01 Stripped lowers are now $244, instead of the old $200 they used to be - but you can grab that upper for $799 ($810.95 shipped to me), nail that lower for another $244, add some other parts to finish out the lower, couple hundred. Bottom line, you're into a full LaRue 6 ARC for $1043 for the real hardware. Add your lower parts that you like. This is an unbeatable deal. For real. You'll beat their full-gun price to build this lower out yourself, and make your gun the way you want. I'm in.
  9. I stated this several weeks ago. Then, this happened... You, @JasminMurray, are either a fucking bot, or you're really dumb, and just repeat shiit that you see, to pimp your gunstore (walkeroutdoors.net). So, fuk off, get lost, or just don't post anymore. You are of no use here, you're worthless, besides pimping product, and a certain store, and it's not warranted here. Somebody ban this fucker.
  10. Was this a complete gun from BCA? A complete upper, only? What are we looking at here, and if it's not all factory parts, list everything you did to build the rest of it out. Thanks in advance.
  11. Describe your recoil system, in great detail. That's number 1 here, that needs ruled out, based on what you stated. I think you have the wrong buffer in here, based on words. Need to confirm that you're running.
  12. Love the long tubes on that engine. Very sweet.
  13. Oh, he does make rifle length springs - he just doesn't realize it. The Armalite EA-1095 is the only spring Armalite uses, and it works perfectly in either carbine recoil systems or rifle recoil systems. That's due to the brilliance of Eugene Stoner, right there. The Sprinco Red spring is a direct equivalent of the EA-1095. So, he makes rifle springs... the Red spring works perfectly in rifle or carbine .308 recoil systems, provided the Carbine Receiver extension you're using has an internal depth of 7 5/8". Sprinco also makes a variance of 5.56 rifle springs - listed directly on their website.
  14. I agree with this, from Alan at Sprinco. You've done everything you can to the recoil system, so it's bullet-proof. If ejection pattern is the thing here, and it's flying forward, and you want it like AR15 charts, and somewhere around 4 o'clock... then you need to cut the gas down to accomplish that. Nothing but an adjustable gas block, dialed down, will do that for you.
  15. That's good - and sad, and true - that's how these firearms are looked at by the uninformed idiots out there. Laughed when the "victim" high-fived with his shot arm...
  16. Something from my new favorite attorney on all this.
  17. Big one... This guy is a fucking NINJA.
  18. Previous post from this guy. Publishing information, not Memes and cute shiit...
  19. I'm really liking this guy, and his channel. This is awesome information. This guy is legit AF.
  20. I love this thread... ❤️
  21. That's gorgeous, brother - very well done!
  22. Start your Build thread here: https://forum.308ar.com/forum/47-building-a-308ar/ This is gonna be the amount of NECESSARY INFORMATION to fix your gun over the internet, through typed words/responses: My initial impressions - Bear Creek doesn't know anything about building a 22-250 gun, and it's ALL fucked up. This thing from them needs work. Lots of work. Thanks, in advance, for complying with what we're asking. Completing the information required will only help you solve this problem, faster.
  23. I appreciate the backup - she's badass. ❤️🥰
  24. We're all here - whenever. Sort the gun out, but definitely get back in here and revisit everything, once you're shooting it. If nothing else, and everything works out perfect - others might be able to take something away from this in the future. If it doesn't run, and we need to figure more out to get it to run - others might be able to take something away from this in the future.
